Shannon Sharpe sits down with Dwight Howard where he details his time with the Los Angeles Lakers, Kobe Bryant and the Houston Rockets. Dwight adamantly denies Kobe calling himself soft: “Kobe and I just didn’t work out, we were at two different points in my career. When Kobe called me soft it was really my mentality at the time and he was 100% correct.”

@@MarcusDailyMedia so when Kobe magically showed up with an enhanced set of post moves to specifically counter his athletic decline was that not developing his skillset? You very well know what he meant. Its also why Ben Simmons is struggling so badly. I hate to say this but he kinda played himself out of that list. Like Derrick Rose. Like Vince Carter. If Rose retired in 2016 he probably makes it over Dame. But he played so kuch longer post his prime to where he got more past his prime yrs than dominant yrs. Same with Dwight. He has not been an all star since 2014. Its been a while. I remember seeing and feeling that Dwight didn’t play with much passion to me as he did before. I never really counted him out tho, I just thought that he lost his fire a bit. Those stats are impressive tho, quiet!!! But impressive I didn’t even realize that lol!

Kobe basically said he tried to show Dwight how to be a champion but Dwight had an image in his head on what a championship team supposed to look like. He said Dwight wanted the locker room to be harmonious but that wasn't the reality and he didn't think Dwight was willing to deal with what it really was opposed to what he thought it should've been. And keep it a buck if we play on the same team and the minute I leave you say I'm soft and a teddy bear you was thinking that while we were teammates.

Dwight thinks work ethic means that it's all about conditioning. This man did not learn a single post move or abuse his gifts even to the extent that shaq did with his, Kobe called him soft because he didn't have that hunger or drive to WIN. Also him saying he's the last person in the gym after practice is 100% a lie ain't no one leaving after kobe lmao.

1.He and Shaq had two different body types they couldn’t play the same 2. You didn’t know Kobe don’t speak for what he meant 3. The fact that you said he didn’t have any post moves shows that you didn’t watch basketball the only post move he didn’t have was a fadeaway

The fact that he thinks he was killing in the post means he lacks some self awareness. As great as Dwight was he could've been so much greater offensively. Especially in a era where he was competing for best center in the League with Andrew Bynum an Amare Stoudemire
