Even after all these years, this guy is still great. I love that he has a big, chunky transformation that isn’t a bunch of panel management that we see far too often these days.
This is probably the best-looking G1 Blitzwing I've ever seen. They did the impossible with him: his robot mode is great, his tank mode doesn't look like garbage, and his MiG-25 Foxbat jet mode looks amazing - almost all the tank mode kibble gets hidden away. The design of this figure is amazing.
No joke this is one of the best jet formers i've ever seen, especially considering he is a triple changer! I've always wondered why they never made more MiG31 type jetformers because its such a blocky aircraft in real life and is therefore perfect for hiding a robot in. Much better than the F15s that the seekers are because its a much slimmer airframe. I've never dropped the money for a third party transformer before but this might be my first...
I’ve just started with some third parties. I have this one and I have a third party WFC Megatron. I just got my Weijiang Mpp10 Optimus, which is an absolute must!! He is huge
junli yu A rotating hinge with a double ball joint and then a joint at the knuckle? Most masterpieces have a ball joint at the base and maybe a joint at the knuckle.
Got this figure. Just mastered the alt modes. I love the robot and jet modes. The tank mode... it’s not my fave. It’s fine when you look at it from the side. But not so much from the front or back. It’ll have to grow on me. I’m getting Decepticon repro labels in the mail so I’ll put one on the chest just under the cockpit. And maybe one on each wing.
The reason why third party companies do better molds is because they WANT their figures to be good and actually cared about transformers while Hasbro just sees another franchise to milk so they don't really care how accurate they are just slap a somewhat similar design and the name and call it a day
@@crassii8904 More likely because hasbro is first and foremost a TOY company which makes toys for CHILDREN. Not to mention they also have a fair few action figure lines, a series of toy guns, and something involving pastel horses. What I'm getting at is that the people at Hasbro probably have to divide their time effort and resources into more than just what amounts to puzzles that can be posed.
RWD that excuse can be applied to some of those mass produced line, but not those high end collector’s figure like the Masterpiece line. In which case Takara takes the designing role
This is amazing in so many ways, the transformation, the style, the ferocity, just the pure epicness that is Blitzwing!! The only gripe I have is how the hands look, I know it's for the transformation and it is deferentially a unique way to store them they just don't fit the menacing persona they look like they would be torn off in a arm wrestle. But, that don't harbor much towards the main figure and I can look past it, besides I'm pretty shore everyone who get's this wouldn't display him with open hands that much. Blitzwing for life!! XD
This Blitzwing keeps blowing my mind over everything this figure does. The changes are so unique and there's surprises at 'every twist and turn' the hands are amazing and the turret is so well thought out (for robot mode)
This is an excellent video Emgo it explains everything really really and your suggestions and personal touches made a lot of difference when I transformed mine ( just got the reissue) I also Just wanted to say many thanks for all the great videos over the years, I've been tuning in since 2017. Keep up to great work bud and don't grow up
At first, I was a bit unsure about Gewalt. But I just got him and I think he is a great figure all around. Not much diecast as far as I can tell, but he is a big bot and doesn't really need it much. He is pretty stable as he is. Could've used a bit more paint, but ht looks great as is. The transformation into each mode is surprisingly easy and enjoyable (thanks again for your easy to follow, step by step transformation video guide). I'm really impressed with this Blitzwing. And I'm glad I finally decided to get him. Now I have to get Astrotrain. lol
I got this guy and used yr video to transform him- thanks! He’s pretty incredible; not overly complex, not too much panel forming, but capable of incredible changes. His jet form is an amazing rendition of a MiG-25, his tank mode completely hides features that give away his other forms, and his robot mode looks tough and definitely passes my “does it look cool?” criteria. I like his jet mode air intakes next to his head, like on a seeker jet (Starscream etc) in bot mode. I think it just looks cool and doesn’t interfere with his shoulders at all. I also think I prefer him with his wings fully extended, again, like the Seeker jets. I’m looking forward to doing some additional detail, wear and tear and depth painting on him.
28:48 the gun finally gets some love. I always prefer Transformers whose accessories, especially weapons, store unobtrusively. Or, you know, AT ALL. That's quite rare that a figure is designed with absolutely no place for weapon storage.
There are multiple versions of 3rd Party MP scale Springers out there, Emgo has reviewed most if not all of them, so far there hasn't been an MP scale Broadside that I'm aware of.. YET
Okay no joke, this is definitel the most well done of the three Deception Triple Changers. Very decent tank mode. FREAKING AWESOME JET MODE! As you said, if you didn't know better you would never believe the jet is also a tank! Makes me miss my own G1 Blitzwing. ;^_^ Needs some Decepticon insignia on the wings and turret though. Then it will be PERFECT!
This is one of the best models I've ever seen. That MiG-25 mode is the best jet mode I've ever seen on a transformer. Like someone else said, it's surprising those jets are not used more often.
It also scales surprisingly well with the MP seeker mould. Yeah, it's a little bigger than it should be, but I was expecting it to be at least 2× bigger than Starscream's jet mode.
It finally hit me after seeing other reviews, it's the distance between the turrent and treads that has been throwing it off to me. Also the tail of the plane being a box. But it came to me after seeing G1 tank comparison.
Can Seref Kurtulus Yeah man, I understood that about the plane. It was that tank that was putting me off from buying it, but I couldn't exactly figure out why until just now.
I don't know why, but the turret going from the top of the tank to the undercarriage of the jet, and eventually split in half and stored in the legs is just really really cool to me.
Blitzwing's out of ammo and his sword is busted, "You know what...time for the big gun." Tossing his weapons aside before the cannon launches off his back and into his hand, "Megatron's got nothing on me!" BOOM!!!
The "Mt. Rushmore" is actually from Season 2 Episode 36 where the triple changers try to overthrow Megatron. It was in the beginning where Starscream, Astrotrain, and Blitzwing carved their faces, and Megatrons into the mountain then had the discussion that one of them does not belong..........HINT HINT Megatron!!
Amazing, I didn't know in plane mode, he looks exactly like a MiG-25 Foxbat. The high tails and shape of the air intakes and cockpit are unmistakable. Even the landing gear is similar in shape to that of a real MiG-25
Gewalt's jet mode is a MiG-25 Foxbat, his Tank mode is a type of Japanese Army Tank (the model of tank escapes me, but it's been retired from service for a number of years now, from memory)
@@LiamDyC I knew he turned into a MiG-31 Foxhound in the IDW comics, the 31 was a successor to the 25 in a lot of ways, based off what the Soviets had been able to learn from the F-14 Tomcat program
I just recently got this guy! Mine's front landing gear is just as loose if not looser than yours. Any chance you done something to make it tighter? And if so what did you do or what would you suggest?
Dinobot Maximize the similest thing to do is fold up a small piece of construction paper and wrap the landing gear shaft and gently push it in. thenpaper will hold it firmly without needing to modify. very easy tomremove as well.
DX9 didn't give him the same attention to detail like they did with Astrotrain, this guy looks like he was made by IKEA.. Good review as always, really enjoying this channel..
even if hes not perfectly cartoon accurate, hes still one of the coolest 3rd party figures of all time, hands down.... in my opinion.... I just really like triple changers and transformers with unique modes (battletrap and skytreads come to mind)
i wish i could make out what he saying when he shows the G1 counterpart to any of the toys.sometime si can but this one i cant but it still very funny and great review btw
That's funny I was just thinking that it was complete bullshit that blitzwing didn't get a combiner wars or masterpiece figure But I can settle for this
Megs should have said "just scan a boat then." Blitzwing would say "BUT MY PARENTS DIDNT TEACH ME TO SCAN!!" Megatron facepalms. "Then how are you a tank and a jet?" Blitzwing runs away crying. "Don't know!!"
Jonathan O`Dell I have the hulkie he is pretty fun not to hard to transform quality is very good articulation is a bit eh but still better then g1s articulation
Just needs G1 lights and sounds. You know the type we need EmGo! Like a dying cat slash 9volt battery bleading your innocent ears away! Done? Done! Your awesome
What are your thoughts on the Ultimetal Optimus Prime and the new Sideshow Collectibles Optimus Prime? Are you able to get a review unit of either from BBTS?
