Guys, thank you for this work in creating the film. It’s great that you organized such a festival and introduce more and more people to this art and show its significance for the world, for artists, for connoisseurs. It would be cool to see how the competition itself went, the evaluation criteria, and the work in one place. Your words are very close to me and I feel insecure because of the small audience, but I am trying to grow in this matter. What you broadcast, your work, your successes, is incredibly inspiring. I thank from the bottom of my heart everyone involved in this art. 🖖🏽

This was a nicely done and entertaining short documentary. However, I was disappointed to not see any women tie dye artists featured. Also some history about tie dye would have been great for those not in the industry. I am intrigued by the tie dye competition and would loved to see a full length feature just about that. An invite to that competition is now a goal that I’ll be working towards!! 😉

Thank you! and I 100 percent agree. It's really important to me as a filmmaker to represent. Unfortunately no women accepted invites to this particular event. Couldn't tell you why as I was not there, my partner shot the interviews. And some more history woulda been great. We're working on another doc that will address both of those concerns.

It was really awesome meeting all of you at the DFO. Josh you gave me some great tips on mandalas and I appreciate that. Carl you talked a little about the wig wag. Kye I’ve enjoyed picking your brain. Your personality is so much fun and you look great wearing a dress. 😂 I didn’t really chat with anyone else but I admire all your work. Great documentary. I Love This... I've been doing Tye Dye since I was 15 I'm 25 now, it's always been an in and off hobby ... never have I witnessed this much inspiration in this field . You guys have inspired me to go even harder now ... time for them 10'000 hours .

awesome documentary. I learned the basics of tie dye back in high school, and it was fun, but though I always wanted to try it again, I just never did until recently. I've been unable to work due to severe depression and anxiety issues for several years, and social anxiety keeps me at home most of the time. I constantly have to keep my mind occupied in various ways in order to avoid being overwhelmed by my depression and anxiety, and until now I've been doing that through entertainment (video games; RU-vid; music; etc.). This last Christmas (2022), I found a cheap tie dye kit on Amazon, and decided to buy it for my 8-year-old nephew, so we could do some projects together. I've always been an artist, and my nephew really enjoys doing creative things with his uncle, so it seemed like a fun gift. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to see my nephew at Christmas, and the kit just sat untouched for a couple months. I planned on still doing some projects with him when I had the chance...but one day I just couldn't wait anymore, and decided to test the kit on my own first. I dyed a couple pillow cases, and though the designs were okay, the colors looked really faded. So I figured adding less water to the dyes would make the colors more vibrant...so I started dyeing every white fabric I could find around my house (which wasn't much...mostly just dish towels)...and I got some good results color-wise (I wasn't focusing on designs with these...mainly just testing the colors). So after that, I bought a couple more white pillow cases, and used the last 3 colors I had left from the kit to dye them. They turned-out pretty nice, and now I'm using them on my bed. Unfortunately, I didn't get to use that cheap kit to bond with my nephew...but I think it served an even greater purpose. It reignited my creativity. I've always been an artist, but my mental health destroyed my passion for it several years ago, and I lost pretty much all of my creative motivation. This cheap tie dye kit (by Tulip...purchased on Amazon for less than $20) brought back my artistic passion in a big way. It was like the flood gates were opened, and it all rushed back in. I decided I want to continue doing this...only on a much more serious level. It's something I can do at home...there's no pressure or deadlines. It's a stress-relieving activity that can keep my mind in a very positive place, and I can start earning an income (even if it's just a little bit at first). So I've been doing some online research...finding all of the materials I'll need, and adding them to wish lists...watching tutorials and learning from the pro's. I haven't gotten started yet, but I have no doubt that this is the beginning of a new chapter for me. For almost a decade I've simply been surviving. I need to start living again, and I believe this is the way. Watching this documentary just reinforced that belief in my mind. If I had any doubts before...they're gone.

To all the artists out there no matter what your art keep at it it’s worth it. Making bank on things that kill your soul isn’t ever worth it. Even if your art doesn’t take off at first just keep working and improving and seek the right market. You can make a living starving artist is a lie they tell us to keep us down

I produced this and while I agree diversity is super important, this particular documentary was covering a specific competition not the community at large. There were only a handful of contestants and none were female. The organizer says they invited many but none accepted.
