Maggie here... I didn't mention it, so how you knew that orange was my favorite color was amazing! I was practically squealing when I opened up the package to look at the yarn. You did such a good job. Love, love love, thank you so much. Happy Tekufah Nisan.
Thank you so much, Maggie, for being my Lab Partner! You mentioned you liked fall tones so I hoped you would enjoy orange. :D I had so much fun filming this for you. I'm curious what you will think of the colorway on Friday's yarn. I was unsure about how that one turned out so I took the elements I loved for this video.
I really like the way you present your videos so clearly with helpful information. I would love to see a knitted swatch at the end to show how your efforts knit up.😊
Thank you so much, Lise! At this time I only include swatches when I'm doing self striping colorways to give a sense of how long each of the sections are. As a one person operation, I don't have the capacity to swatch the yarn from every video.
And another stunningly gorgeous yarn! Love the brightness of the red and the cabernet; the brown gives a subtle muting effect without being at all muddy; and the breakthrough glints of the base color are a delight. Now I can hardly wait to see the "more chaotic" trial run.
that is a STUNNING colorway! switching up the order of the colors removed the striped effect, and the end result feels much more organic than when the bands of color are in the same order on both sides. i really like this, and i hope you do this again with different color combinations.
At first I thought the 1% DOS was going to be easy to dark, but I liked the layered tonals very much. The combination of speckles and tonals make a nice pair!
The dye stocks were 1%, but I didn't dye the yarn at a 1% DOS. I used WAY less than 100 mL of each of the colors total. One problem with dyeing by feel, however, is that you may not know how much you used.
Okay, no lie, that colorway was our wedding colors! So much so that when my husband walked in the room while I was watching the video, I went back to when you were pouring in the pecan brown to show him the colors in stripes. He was like, "Oh, yeah! That is exactly our wedding colors!" We had an outdoor fall wedding, so we decided to let nature handle most of the decorating with the fall leaves, and picked all the colors for the dresses and tuxes and decorations based on that.
@@ChemKnitsTutorials like how you did it. Dye the base then add color afterwards. Because when I have peak through color I rarely want it to be stark white so this was so much fun and I'm definitely going to give it a go.
@@ChemKnitsTutorials I'd call you an evil color genius kinda like mad scientist lol but you're too sweet to be evil so you're just a color theory genius
I have watched a few other dyeing RU-vidrs. I found most of them used a lot of the canned music with no explanation of what’s going on. After watching your videos for a while I could follow them now, but that music is irritating I really rather the sound of what’s going on.
