Really strange how one person having to leave the company changed the whole outcome of the game. This version was loved by so many people compared to the current one Talk about choices & consequences 😂
The E3 gameplay was award winning for a reason and the devs decided to cut most of the stuff and basically restart development again getting rid of most of the stuff that had made the e3 gameplay look so amazing.
Avellon had to leave because two Karens filed a lawsuit for sexual allegations back in 2020 that had already been proven to be nothing but lies. I really do hope the game will be restored with subsequent at these attention whores' expense.
My only criticism of this game is the fact they made us believe the game was going to be filled with decisions like this one, and I thought this mission would come somewhere halfway through the game, little did we know this was actually the epilogue, and the only decision that altered the map.
Considering this game demo was shown two years ago, and in that time the original lead designer was fired replaced, it's not a stretch to imagine that some things were changed quite a bit. Not saying what you said isn't true, but just look at Jack Matt; he's got an American VA in this demo, but an English one in the final game, and the scene where you can choose to either chase the van or stay with Frank is very different in the final game.
@@opticgamer1014 Well that's funny, because in mid-2020 multiple people accused him of sexual harassment and even sexual assault. So yeah, even though he and Techland publicly "agreed" to end his involvement, it's pretty obvious he was just straight up fired from the project.
Aiden 2019: My father saved my life and I’ll never forgot him I am an infected and looking for a cure aiden rn: where’s my sister! I’ll never forgive techland
man, this looked 200x better than what we have now :( and this mission actually was about water not just some superhuman dude, plus this was halfway or 3/4 through the game not the epilogue..
@@MegaRayan2011 how did you learn it was real gamr back then seems like it was just a demo made for e3 which is very sad i wish there was a way to get the demos instead of the actual games
@@MegaRayan2011 Fr bro they should of just kept it like this why did they have to change everything about the game I’m not saying it’s bad right now it’s pretty decent but I feel like it would of been so much better if it was like trailer
@@diversityice Not everything because when the zombie grabs Aiden he throws a UV Light which the animation looks like the same. Could be just my eyes though.
I like this version about the water better. This video is what made me hyped for this game so many years ago. I had been looking forward to this quest for the whole game. When I finally played through it it was such a let down and felt so pointless.
I wish they kept the random events like aiden falling into a dark zone. I also really wanted the scorpion gun. I wish our decision actually impacted the world, the only big impact was the last mission decision. I do love playing the game but it felt so short
Always funny to come back to these Trailers and see what is real, what is false, what changed and what totally got dumped on the road. Chickens on the Rooftop? NPC‘s going out of your way? Grappling hook for quick dropkick? Grappling hook to pull barrels? Lightning effects on enemy weapon? Stamina to open doors? And most importantly THAT FREAKIN SCORPIO GUN???
if there are chickens on the roofs, the npc are sometimes on the roads, the hook with kick is there, attracting things with the hook is there but it does not affect the nps, the effects of the enemy weapon is true that it does not they are, the energy to open doors is not there either, and the weapon, but we know that techland fixed several things
npcs do go out of your way in certain situations, not all the time ofc this is a demo its in the game its in the game its in the game not in the game its in the game and can be unlocked via pk rewards.
The graphics looks a lot better in this trailer than in the actual game... it looks more intense, dark and realistic. Now there is just too many bright colors.
yeah... completely different setting, completely different location, different characters? maybe. it's kinda disappointing.. it showed so much more potential here than the actual retail release
The worst part about this is I was on track to get the best ending, but I didn't because I went after the truck because of this demo. Don't go after the truck if you want the best ending
I want to play THIS game. This graphics, this parkour. ITS WONDERFUL. It doesn't compare to what we got. I also really liked the design of the map. Many things are interactive, many of them are destructible. I especially liked how the floor collapsed under Aiden.
I like how someone from each faction is there. You got Frank, (survivors), Jack Matt (Peacekeepers), Juan (kinda with renegades), and there characters here compared with in the actual game is so different
I want THIS game. I wish they kept the garphics and everything else like this. Like what they showed us back then. I'm so sad and disappointed about it.
It's cuz like basically every e3 demo for a open-world AAA release, the scale and size of the game increases. In this trailer, in engine, it's optimized for just this demo running at 30 fps I believe. Now it's on like 5 diff platforms and it is more dense/ray tracing is now a "phenomenon".
It wasn't canceled at all... THQ Nordic announced that development of the game had changed hands to Dambuster Studios, an internal studio of Deep Silver
The gameplay in this trailer compared to the gameplay in the actual game is exactly why I DON'T pre-order games anymore. The finished product is such a downgrade from this
Nah people sayinf that the game would of looked like this but supposedly they fired some guy that made all of this and they had to restart the whole game
@@wtfimcrying no the parkour doesn’t look as floaty the combat looked soo smooth and the graphics and decisions where better on this one too this game was just a disappointment I should of just brought elden ring instead of this
@@sike5759 yeah like i said it was still in the game, all this demo has is different visuals, more dismemberment, and better gravity. “Decisions looked better” what does this even mean? This is literally a non complaint what do you mean decisions looked better.
@wtfimcrying what he means is, the decisions in this E3 version seemed to have heavily implied that your choices outright affected the narrative and world in DL2. But this is hardly the case in release.
Yeah where is this game now ? This moves, the graphic, the gameplay is totaly amazing. Is not what we got. I liked a final game but i want this more. I still believe in techland i hope they are made this in future updates.
Watchdogs was miles better than this. I know they’re completely separate games but honestly the only downgrades I spotted from WD were a.i and graphics Retail version of this game is 10x worse than e3
Alot has changed. Edit: Frank looks different same has Juan's voice along with Matt's apperance and the structure of the fisheye when the renegades enter.
@@zaltmanbleroze i don't think watching a video makes anyone feel special, you simpleton. Most just expected a new gameplay video, not the same one from a month ago with nothing different but the logo.
Same. I only heard some game reporters talking about watching this in a closed meeting/viewing. Even though it was interesting to listen to the details, they were not allowed - at the time - to share the footage. I'm happy it's uploaded. Cannot wait to play it.
While I love the game we got, I still really wish we got the game we were promised. The amount of wasted potential makes me sad when I think about it. We could have had a true masterpiece, but they kept re-doing the game and it turned out pretty generic compared to this. I doubt future dlc will be able to fix this problem, and we'll never be able to see the original vision that was teased here.
I've been watching this demo from day one 😂, I think DL2 wasn't going to be an RPG game, but they had to make a decision whether they should or not because other games are RPG, techland needs to give us the demo experience it looks so much better, realistic, scary e.g. I don't understand why game developers put so much effort into the demo, obviously for marketing, but we get something totally different, it's annoying. RIP demo 😢
@intrusted bruh. I know the mission is the game. I'm talking about how they didn't include the part about water and emptying the sunken city part of the map. That part of the mission doesn't exist in the full game.
@@vrtrixx9236 you can empty the water, you must side with jack matt instead of lawan or the colonel and it’ll give acces to the sunken city and the drowners. You only get the option depending on what choices you made
I love that they were playing Metric in the bar at the beginning of the scene. They are a great indy rock band from Canada. If anyone watching this video is unfamiliar with them, I recommend checking out their whole catalogue.
Depending the choices you make on every mission and side quests, the city will either grow or will either fall, i see the difference on E3 trailer 2018. Looks like this time the choices they give to us, wont be easy to choose
Man imagine if this version of the game made to the final version it would be so awesome now it’s bright colors and ruins the game and even the city structure is change so that kinda ruins it too
Stakeholders wanted them to push it out half-assed and then repair the game afterwards with patches. It's just how the gaming industry is now unfortunately, no care for quality and standards anymore.
I prefer this Villedor it’s much more dull and seems to have more different and interesting settings fitting the whole feel of the post apocalyptic feel whereas the Villedor we got was extremely colorful and had to many areas that felt the same and almost every location felt copy and pasted
@@asassin0884 Yeah you need multiplayer to keep a game alive. That's why Skyrim, Fallout 3 and new vegas has a vast community of modders still working on those games
@ashiaor6666 I'm being serious. You can jump, far jump, wall run gameplay is almost the same you can do anything in the trailer. And the architecture is the same but just less decoration. Btw the textures are the same quality it's just the lighting ( which their gonna fix in the future). And they also played around with the lighting and put the graphics settings to the max on a high powered pc
You know....I feel like these gaming companies need to make movies then video games because they can really make these gameplay trailers look that great compared to the released version which a 2/5 rating for me but hey its their way of saying "We want youre money. So watch this gameplay trailer" then later in the future. Downgraded version released but I still love the sequel of this game but really wished they placed these graphics in the actual games itself instead if using it to gain money but beggars can't be choosers.
10:27 Imagine how cool and overpowered it would be if Aiden was able to craft UV lights on his melee weapons. That way you could fight infected enemies at night while burning their skin. But to not make it too overpowered, the UV lights on your melee weapon would only last a certain period of time.
