The first game was also more intense at night. Absolutely no roaming volatiles even on hard difficulty. Makes it very boring at night for me but, daytime is good though.
I refund the game. It is so disappointing that they did not make a real night. Just a blue filtered day. And so much looney tunes zombies. This game is for kindergarden kids.
DL2 doesnt looks as if the devs were looking to make the game just as if not more intense as the first one. In my opinion I thought the fear of going out at night time made the game way better, knowing you only had a given amount of time before night came and if you don't make it back you will literally die. Night time looks so bitchy in DL2. I really hope the devs make adjustments for players who really enjoyed night time in the first game. Also where the fuck are the zombies. There are literally no zombies and the zombies look useless and don't do shit in this game. They ripped out the backbone of the first game and put metal reinforcements for babies who didn't like going out at night in the first one. This always happens nowadays. Devs ruin the best aspects of the games just for the casual players to like it more. Your first game was literally a masterpiece but you want to fuck it up because the bitches who were scared of a fun experience despite the scare factor said so. Come on man.. When I buy the game I hope it isn't the same as the gameplay Im seeing.
And I’m on damn console so I can’t download the mods the community have added. I’ve been playing the first a lot again. I enjoy a lot about dying light 2 but night has been a flop.
@@atlascube3377 but the game structure has changed vastly. Even the choices and consequences have been removed as it was before. The idea of 2019 demo, was way off.
The timer that shows up anytime that you're out at night breaks immersion in the game. In DL1, the developers had it setup where if you felt brave enough to go at night, then you could, but at your own risk. Now it's "it's getting dark outside, so let's hold your hand so you won't be scared of the dark." I don't know what happened with the people at Techland, but it would be nice if it hadn't happened.
I was a little bitch and avoided going out in the nighttime in DL1 because of how scary it was. I tried to go out in the night but when I saw a volatile I hauled ass back to a safehouse. I didn't like going out at night in DL1, but that was the point. If I, the player is scared then you get why everyone else in the game is scared of the night. Judging by this video DL2 doesn't have the same atmosphere as the first, which is a HUGE dealbreaker for me.
The howlers are like the equivalent of the volatiles in DL2. At night they are the ones who bring the volatiles so you gotta avoid them. You really want a challenge, get the howlers to bring all the infected and volatiles out and you will have nowhere to hide except the UV lights.
You gotta lower your brightness my guy. You want the ambience level just right to immerse yourself into the night life which is dying light 2. And don't forget to avoid the howlers at all costs unless you wanna die.
I really feel that Techland should remove the immunity meter, or at least put it as an option. I get that they implemented it as a core gameplay mechanic, but I feel it comes off as gimmicky, and annoying rather than adding a stressful and challenging element to the gameplay. And I do feel that the first game was better in terms of immersion. The second one is better in the open world, and scale, and the overall design of the zombies. But the night time in the first one felt alot more dangerous until you got the grappling hook. The one thing that makes this kind of game is so good, is that constant sense that youre in danger, and just having enough skill and wit to barely stay alive. Making the player too overpowered makes the game become goofy and removes that challenge. Although that would drastically change the personality of the game, from being fun and goofy to being scary and challengin, but it would be more rewarding that way, and I feel much more enjoyable. I do also think that an excellent mechanic to add to the game would be zombie dogs that come out at night or during the day, just think about it... And yes to make the game darker at night. I do think that this game will age like fine wine. There was also just something about the first games POV that made the game feel more on par with real lifes POV.
if pvp is ever a thing in the game the immunity meter being optional would give other players an upper hand, plus I think that the meter is just a great addition
Alright the Ambience, Music, and Infected make the Night a bit scary in Dying Light 2 but the tone and feel makes it not even feel remotely scary just some weird eclipse.
I remember the first one feeling like a parkour version of Dead Island. Other than story I'm not sure if anything has changed. This certainly didn't leave me hyped for or fearful of night time gameplay. The original DL left me feeling kind of meh, and this isn't doing me any more favours. Skip. - Thanks for trying this out though Josh, you did the best that could be done.
I’m really thinking about buying this game, but I’m worried that my PS4 won’t be able to run it very well. Can someone tell me if it’s worth it or not?
No bro don't buy it! I buyed this for ps4 and the graphics are absolutely horrible and blurred,it feels like you are playing a 2012 ps3 game, and it's buggy and glitchy as f*k,if you have a ps5 it's worth it man it's not that buggy and the graphics looks better than old Gen consols
@@certainlysignificant7721 i rispect your opinium but playing on ps4 was very trippy for me sorry,I read alot of comments about what i wrote on the other comment, sorry but the graphics are blurried as fk and has a huge downgrade,if you have played the first game you will see the difference,I have fortunally a ps5 too and playing on there is alot more better than on ps4,graphics are better and to blurred,no bugs at all and the audio wont go away man,(thats a huge ps4 problem people are axing to fix it) they downgrade the graphics for ps4 for promoting the ps5 of course, but other than that its a fun game.
@@Croat955 yeah I feel you man, playing this on old Gen consols is pure trash, blurred and downgraded lighting,WTF and I really don't like the lighting in the darks places it looks so false and cartoon ish, horrible looking,on ps5 is a little bit better and all,but yeah first dying light a true masterpiece and better than this...
Terrible showcase of night time in DL2. After seeing the 20 same sneak takedown animations in a row I had a feeling this isn't the best video to base expectations on.... Or is it....??
In DL2 nighttime the only light you had was your torch, so in that sense this is much more watered down. Good for some but I personally liked the atmosphere of DL1 nighttime, even if it was scary af Also mad respect to those lunatics who would actually go out at night and willingly go into volatile nests, abolute madmen
one would think that Dying Light first of the name would be the sequel to this one and Dying Light 2 would be the first episode so much they have regressed 🤪
Combat looks like shit no damage to the enemy just blood splatter looks cartoonish no guns wtf, downgrade from the demo they showed from 4 years ago bugs no mouse binding wtf, i will wait for it to go on sale for £10.00 like i did with Cyberpunk 2077 still not played that
