Despite majority of dl’s characters being bar forgettable, Crane’s character development from GRE yes man to ninja parkour badass is extremely well done
He also has a redemption arch because in the beginning he has no problem burning the antezin that the tower people needed. But then as the game progresses he betrays the gre to help the people of Harran when before he had no problem hurting them
Kyle Crane was kind of a hero to me for many years until I saw these videos... I know it wasn't his fault intentionally, but it's like every ounce of good he did was not just undermined, but completely wiped out because he inadvertently caused the death of what human civilization was before. It's a beautiful and tragic story.....but after loving this story and that character for so long, I also feel a bit nauseous.
At this point, Crane should've just killed himself, instead of going outside, just in case, or at least made sure he'd be going the proper direction, the right exit

I think the scream Crane lets out in the ending where he defies the mother is one of anguish of realising what he's turned into. Also to note, the sun is going down in that ending, meaning that he'll end up going fearl not too long after.

loved this. i never was able to finish dying light fully back then and missed out on the dlc, and then dying light 2 is one of my favorite games of all time now. great to be able to fill in the blanks
I absolutely love Harran as a setting. It has been a whike since I played but from what I remember is that Harran is a middle eastern country. Such a fresh new setting than somewhere like America. This game was so ahead of its time.
This random NPC outside the Tower told me the story of Rais and his brother. Pretty sure he said Amir was in a wheelchair. So i don't think the Amir that saves Kyle at the beginning is Rais' bother
Man I didn’t get to play the first one before playing Dying Light 2. This one looks way more enjoyable despite how fun DL2 is. I just wish they incorporated some of the old weapons and some of the fun things from DL1 into DL2
Yeah but you gotta remember that a lot of people didn't actually like Dying Light when it first came out. The game instead, evolved into something great, and the same will likely happen with Dying Light 2, because Techland is a great developer
Currently playing DL2 and I’m about 10 or 11 main quests in….been doing more sidequests than anything but I’m surprised there’s so much I missed in this first game. Maybe I shouldn’t play completely stoned. The night in DL2 isn’t reallt scary like DL1 but man, those volatiles were weak bois in DL1 when compared to the DL2 ones. I really hope a DL3 is made, one that take place like 20 years after DL2. I’d love to see what the infected evolve into after all that time and how the survivors of the world have essentially evolved into a new species of human that has to learn the art of parkour for survival purposes. I haven’t been this engrossed with a game for a long time.
Honestly for Dying Light 3 I want it to take place between the first and 2nd game. Give us more info on Kyle and let us travel between the tower(harran) and a new area. Just my opinion though. Lets us see the events of "The Fall" and other events brought up in Dying Light 2.
Because if he hadn’t burned it, Brecken and those in the tower wouldn’t have needed to purchase it from Rais and Crane wouldn’t have forced that interaction as mentioned in the video. Sorry for the long tangent I js had the same thought you did nd it bothered me till I really thought abt it
I was kind of sad with how the following ended but it's at least refreshing to get an ending to a zombie IP that isn't just "and they made it out alive and lived happily ever after". It was an ending to the story that kind of felt inevitable to me. Love dying light can't wait to play 2 at some point.

I see this comment on every small RU-vidrs channel. The problem with this idea is not every single RU-vidr can become large. There’s thousands of reaction channels that get no views also. There’s only so much time in the day and so many people to watch all the thousands of videos out there. That’s why he doesn’t get more views. There are thousands of RU-vidrs making good content and only so many will get a viewership. It’s just how the world works. He has a good viewership compared to many small channels which is a good sign but we will just have to see.

This was very in-depth I like it and I actually enjoyed dying light story and I like how dying light 2 story isn’t going to far away from the original one evan tho being 15 years after it still feels like it’s the same story.
it would be cool if he shows up doing the werewolf thing, chaining himself up at dusk, wakes up at dawn with claw marks all around him and then just unlocks the chains. XD properly handled the worst part of that condition is their features.

Even that's old video, i can say i learn a lot by this. History of game what have kinda both ends. One what's end with big explosion and second making plague rise on another side. I feel bad that end was kinda fetal for Crane.

Kyle Crane is the perfect example of the life soldiers lead. They could be good people, but they often carry out heinous acts without knowing why and they never question orders. I still love him, though.

Everyone always tore the story apart, but I feel like Dying Light has the best storyline/lore in gaming. Yeah, the writing and characters are iffy, but the plot itself is intriguing and the lore surrounding it is really good and grounded in political espionage.
Did you all notice that the building 😣is on the other side of the Giant wall? That was everyone's escape route once the infected were eliminated in it. But that would end the story. So why wasn't it on this side?

I remember my first encounter with the volatile, saw the dude and despite the fact they looked like some mutated aliens that sounded like the 9 circles of hell combined, i thought to myself, nah i can take these guys......oh man how wrong i was ...... needless to say every time i found myself out at night after that i'd bolt to the nearest safehouse
i remember when people were overinterpreting the fuck out of the ending and the nuances of the scenery where kyle turns into a volatile to prove it was actually the mothers vision or some shit and something about the mother and kyle seeing her life it was so desperate.
Harran a Turkey city near Syria border, and Arab speaking majority city. and also part of Syria region before ww1. Harran, Hatay, Gaziantep, Urfa and Batman very similar to Syrian culture.

I finished playing Dying Light and I loved it it's amazing but I never played the DLCs because as much as I loved the game, it always gave me severe motion sickness so thank you for this video, it's really well explained. Great video
