Manic Panic isn't tested on animals and does not damage hair. It contains restorative properties, acting as a conditioner that hydrates and "fills” processed hair. These semi permanent hair dyes are pretty much made of the same things. Manic panic is also cheaper by at least two dollars. The only way I can think it would be damaging is if you have to bleach your hair because the color won't leave, which happens because manic panic sticks around let me tell ya.

Its because manic panic has high alcohol content which is drying, so it can dry out / damage hair if you leave it on too long. I notice my hair is slightly dry after using manic panic, but I would not consider it to have "damaged" my hair. Some hairdressers are really against it though (mine told me not to use it as well)

I just wanted to say thank you! I know this video is a year old... but I literally watched every video on arctic fox trying to see how I could get lavender hair with my medium blonde hair... I did exactly what you did and it came out perfect!

Your hair looks lovely! That is a perfect colour for you. Now we can be purple haired Princesses together! My hair is a dark purple. Once every four months I use Vidal Sassoon London Lilac and to keep it purple I use Arctic Fox Purple rain once a month as a hair mask as it freshens my colour and keeps it looking good. I also have some in my conditioner to make it last even longer. That way I don't need to shower in cold water. It keeps the colour longer! Arctic Fox is the best dye!

Little Red Goddess Persephone thank you!! No way that’s awesome we’re purple hair twins ☺️❤️ oh my gosh thank you I’m gonna look into that Vidal Sassoon I use a purple shampoo but it’s honestly really weak I felt like it didn’t do much!

@@VanessaLopez The Vidal is a permanent colour but I had to use it because my hair was super red before I did it purple. I would put a mixture of purple rain and girls night in my conditioner to keep my colour lasting longer if I were you. Overtone has a great everyday conditioner but they are soooo expensive!

How many washes did it take to fade out? Any staining? I'm thinking of dying my hair this color, but I've a bad experience with a temporary dye not fading out as advertised before and I just wanted to make sure that this shade wasn't like that. Thanks so much!

I guess it depends on the conditioner you use. I use it to make the colors lighter and they go further. I haven't had a problem with color deposit I guess because I'm doing more like pastel colors.

There’s nothing wrong with diluting hair dyes like arctic fox. Your problem was that girls night is already such a diluted color, the bottle is basically conditioner with a small dollop of purple. That’s all a pastel is, less pigment. So diluting it even further most likely just acted as a toner and took the brassiness out of your hair. Also manic panic ingredients really aren’t that far off from arctic fox. It isn’t damaging but it does stain the hair more than arctic fox. I wonder if your hair dresser’s experience was actually from bleaching over someone’s hair that used color oops to remove manic panic as that will cause a big issue, but the issue is with using a color remover intended for box dyes. It causes the color to reappear once bleach is applied.

i tried this last night, but I chickened out and added diluter. And then I chickened out even more and added conditioner. You're right! It doesn't work. My hair is around a level 8, so it's a bit darker than yours. Don't be scared of the color in the bowl. Unless you have white hair, it's not going to turn out bright purple.
