Lost my mother to suicide when I was 17 and my father found out he had terminal liver cancer 8 months later. They passed 11 months apart. I didn't think I'd be crying at 8am, but here we are. This song is lovely and you're amazing for this❤ Wow I didn't expect all of this, but I very much appreciate it. Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm almost 21 now and I'm graduating college a year early. I'm then gonna take a gap year before starting grad school and I'm doing well. I miss them and I'd give anything for them to be here, but even without that I know they would be proud of me. They never hesitated to make sure I knew when they were alive so there's no doubt in my mind. I thank everyone for the kind words and I hope y'all are doing well❤

I'm very sorry for ur loss! I will always remember every detail of the day they took my brother off life support I hope that u know that grief can feel like ur losing ur mind. Allow yourself to grieve. U might need help...counseling, grief group, books, RU-vid videos. Do whatever u can to grieve in a way that's healthy. The worst thing u can do is go down a bad road. Ur brother wouldn't want that and I promise u it wont stop the pain...it just delays they pain and u can end up making a lot of bad decisions on top of a broken heart 🙏🙏🙏

I bet your mother is proud every time you are walking and breathing! she is proud of every move you make and I can clarify that by.. telling you, she is watching your every move from heaven and everyday she is getting stronger and prouder so hopefully someday when you 2 reconnect in heaven she can give you the biggest hug and tell you how much she loves you to the moon and back and will never leave your side again. I’m just glad to know how fortunate you are a not looking down on ppl. Heart problems are in my family so I lost family at a young age, I told my bff this and she shrugged it off and said she had never had a person in her life pass away. My grandmas anniversary of life is next month. I don’t think I’m ready to experience that feeling again. We also were not able to have her funeral because if covid so we don’t have any sort of closure

@THE GIRL Hi there, We are told (from a society standpoint) that crying and "staying strong" is the best thing to do so we don't have to cry. Crying is all apart of the grieving process and releasing those endorphins ("feel good chemicals") can help ease both physical and emotional pain. Being able to talk about your grandmother is also the best thing to do as well and remembering the good memories and what she brought into your life. Hope this helps :)

@@daviswiggs4695 uhh i have two questions please if you don't mind.. 1- I kinda was har@ssed when i was 9 years old and that did effect me but now after years i get nightmares of the same situation with older people in a different place but it feels as if the same situation and it give me panic attacks everytime it's like i know it won't happen again but my brain can't accept it when I'm scared.. 2- I've been dealing with depression for more than 3 years and sometimes it's all good until i start feeling down just like that it stars feeling like everything blurred away and sometimes i even forget about what was happening in the situation idk what's happening to me but it definitely makes my life way harder.. [I'm sorry for asking too much maybe but do you have any socials ..?]

Can see the pain on your face for your friend. She is lucky to have a friend like you. My friend lost her mom to breast cancer in grade school. I don’t think we all took it seriously enough or even understood it much because we were young. Now that I’m older and still have my mom to call when I need her, I think of her often not having hers. I found out I have cancer two days before my 10 year old son passed away from brain tumors. I’ve been in treatment ever since. This helped in more ways than one. Saw this as an ad and started crying almost immediately. I don’t even like this genre of music usually but this was beautiful. Really good song.

I call it the new normal... Grief can last a long time. It can develop into various stages of the process. I'm very much a supporter of grief counseling and grief groups. I've also seen great information in books and videos I grew up in a very big family. Now in my 30s I've lost more family than I have left Having coping skills, and a constantly growing relationship with God is how I can live each day without pain. There are moments here and there, but I should be crawled up into a ball. Instead, I live in my purpose of helping others through loss. Who better than me, right?! God bless u and keep going 🙏🙏🙏

Dylan. STOP. This was too much for me, i’m bawling my eyes out. I lost both my grandfather’s, and a grandmother. I loved them all so much and this song just really showed how much we can connect as humans because we’ve all experienced loss in some way. Some more brutal or direct then others. I heard this song for the first time today. I lost my mum to cancer when she was 48, I was 20. I’ve just celebrated my 49th birthday, I feel so relieved to have made it. This song WOW it’s just floored me - what beautiful words and so very very close to home. Every word in this song relates and hits me like a tidal wave. What a wonderful friend you are to write this, I hope it helps with the grief your friend is going through. Finally had the courage to listen to this song two day after my teacher died. Cried 6 seconds in. I feel like this song was made for her. She died at around her late 40's and loved all of her students very much. She helped everyone, did scream a bit but we all knew it was because she cared about us and our education. I just lost my grandma just last month, on February 23 2024. It was the worst day that I could ever have in my entire life, and I wouldn’t want to go through that day again. I miss her so much, almost everything reminds me of her and I just can’t stop crying. She practically raised me while my parents worked. I just can’t accept the fact that she isn’t around anymore and it’s been so hard for me. I totally understand where you're coming from. I lost my grandma quite recently also, July 26th 2021. She died from ALS and it was traumatizing to see it take over her body for her last year or two, I took care of her 24/7 in her final year and was her full time caregiver. It's really hard when a child dies My brother was 8 yrs old when he died. I was the big sister and in college. Our dynamic was more like a 2nd mom and child instead of brother/sister. I'm 16 and lost my mom just over a month ago, and it's been hard. The reason behind the song combined with the lyrics makes it feel like the song was written for me, because my mom wasn't much older than 48 (she had just turned 52) when she passed and my birthday is in just a couple of months, and she always made my brothers' and my birthday cakes. Please dont be afraid to ask for help. Counseling, grief groups, reaching out, books, RU-vid videos...are some things to turn to when ur grieving Please know that u cant run from the grief by turning to negative coping skills. It just adds to the grief process I say all this because I've lost many. Eventually by the grace of letting God back into my heart I've been able to heal. So, God bless u 🙏🙏🙏

I recently lost a good friend of mine, she stood by me and acted as a coach in so many ways. Her loss was devastating. She only lived 21 years of life before it was all taken from her. It's not fair. She was such a successful woman and she had her entire life ahead of her. She died in a car accident a couple weeks back. This song truly sends chills down my spine and brings tears to my eyes. I lost my grandma too. She passed 2 months ago. I miss her so much. My grades dropped to all F’s and I got 3 of them to C’s. It was hard to gain motivation again. Hard to focus when everything reminded me of her. I failed 2 classes and was depressed for a while. Tennis season was coming up and they wouldn’t let me play even explaining my situation. It was hard. I wasn’t going to join despite being depressed but I did it for her. Life is full of ups and down. Hurts when someone can be stripped away from you like nothing. Sometimes I just wanna scream my guts out at whoever decided this was her time to go. I needed her still.

This hits me hard because it's so relatable, I also lost my mom when I was 12, she was 47 almost 48 and it broke me so much. Im 20 years old now and I have a 1 2/2 year old son, it hurts knowing I can never introduce my son to his grandma but he reminds me of her everyday. I’ve been keeping this song on repeat lately. Absolutely beautiful! I lost my mother in 2020 and I’ll never forget the day she called and told me she had cancer. This song speaks to me on so many levels. I look exactly like my mother. So when I look in the mirror, SHE is all I see. And she always told me she loved me to the moon and back. A few days shy of a year after my mom died, my sweet Grammy (mom’s mother) passed away. 5 days later, Pawpaw (mom’s dad) died. Those three people were my world. I know Dylan wrote it for her mother's friend, but i think also she shared this nice song for all of us, for those who are struggling with the lost of someone we appreciated and miss so much. We should be strong, but it's okay if you think this is just for a mother, it depends on each person how they feel about the song and what they've been through, just my opinion!❤

I lost my mom to suicide almost 3 years ago when I was 23. She was my best friend, still is and always will be. I miss her endlessly. We lived in the same house and she had depression for a long time but she was still the sweetest soul on earth, we did everything together. Thank you for this amazing song, it helps so much!! ❤️🙏🏼

My little sister passed away from an overdose in March and this song makes me feel like I’m not the only one hurting and it’s beautiful and heart wrenching and reminds me that my sister is still with me always.

omg im so sorry! that has never happened to someone I loved. I cant imagine that happening to one of my siblings. I was reading this and it made me think, sometimes this world is so cruel for taking away the people we love..but she is looking over you and is still protecting you as if she was in your presence..I wish I could be there supporting you..but I am praying for you ❤❤. You will get through this and beat this hard time and hopefully someday in the future you will be able to reconnect with her.. i'm here for you 💕

I never grew up with my mom. Wish I did but it didn't happen. I was grateful for my grandparents. Like everything happens for a reason, I was blessed, loved, appreciated, and happy. But incomplete. But I realized I wasn't, I had the best people I could ask for. They gave me everything.

Having a best friend who lost her dad last year made me relate to this so much. Even though I only saw him twice before he died of cancer, I was lucky enough to see the impact he had on her, and she's so strong, she was only 13 when he left the world. Rest in peace 🙏 🕊

This song reminds me of my grandma; I lost her a few years ago. I love her so much and its definitely hard to accept that she's gone. I just found out about this song 1 month after it’s been realised. It literally made me cry. I lost my mom at 12 and she was only 36. This song is so beautiful but what’s more amazing is your gesture to your best friend - understanding her pain, caring about her and never leaving her alone. I wish I had a friend like you. My best friends and friends at all were never really beside me after losing my mom. I always felt alone. It’s been more than 3 years since my mom passed away and it’s like everyone forgot and thinks I’m over it. I’ll never be over it. It hurts so much because in the moments when everyone abandons me I feel the pain even worse and miss my mom even more. Because I know she would never abandon me. I know God called her and I’m trying to cop with it everyday. Please, never do that to your friend. It seems like you have a pure soul and I hope you and her are both doing okay now. Sending love 💕

@Robloxian Soph! she died in a car crash on December 8th 2018. She was travelling with my dad with his car. Something happened and he lost control over the car. It crashed. He got out the car and tried to get my mom out there too but she was already dead. I wasn’t there but he later told us everything. Me and my brother were at home this day, sleeping, and my aunt and grandma woke us up. (we don’t live with them and it was strange) I had that feeling that something bad happened but I didn’t know it’d be that.. My grandma told us about it. I still remember how the whole world stopped for a moment. And it was the worst feeling ever. I’ve never got to say goodbye not even see her again. My dad said it would be better for us if we don’t see her that way in the coffin and just remember her as she always was - beautiful and smiling. 💓
