In Perron's case. its not that he's not showing up, its that he's showing up and committing x amount of mistakes per game which often lead to goals against. I'd prefer for him not to show up at all if thats going to be the case. I am sick and tired of watching Perron get away with bad play. He never gets sat. He sold Seider out for Caps second goal last night. A veteran who cant pass a puck to a stick. He's been doing it all year but somehow he is coach's pet. The mind boggles. The sloppiest most mistake prone player on the Wings roster is a veteran, not a kid. Go figure. If thats going to be the case I'd rather see the vets cleaned out and bring the kids through.

Yea, they couldn't score anyway. It wasn't the refs, it was wings non-effort to make creative plays. When your chasing the Puck and shooting at the goalies crest you aren't going to score very much.
The Red Wings were all over them, the quality chances where 20-4. We out played them and clearly had a better game plan. The energy and effort was there. Time to win our next 4! Let them Octopi Fly!

I've been feeling that all year. Big mistake letting that guy go. Should have just payed the guy, he's playoff gold waiting to happen, exactly the type of player we should have been stockpiling. Instead we clear him out to make way for duds like Perron lol.
No wonder we had to face Vasilevskiy 2.0 especially in a game where we desperately needed the win. Now we have to go through the drama of trying to properly fight to get back to that WC spot.
Doesn't matter I don't care if our 43ish shots were basic or creative shots. That is to many to not know what a goal is. Especially since Lindgren is not worthy to really be called Vasilevskiy 2.0.

They outplayed the caps and their goalie this whole season has either been a brick wall or swiss cheese. Wings just so happened to get the brick wall today.
Debrincat has been a damn ghost and not much more than a Power Play Merchant who gets bullied in front of the net??12 goals in his last 60 for a “goal scorer” I’m sorry get out of here with that.

5-14 ever since that losing streak started. This team is done. Absolute clown show the past month in a half. It’s unbelievable. This team was literally cruising into the playoffs. I don’t even care if they made the playoffs and got smoked. I just wanna see them in it and it’ll be good for the young guys. Yzerman did say it’s not a playoffs or bust season by any means but you cannot all of sudden in the later end of the season just absolutely play like shit like they’ve done. Some of these guys gotta go. Nobody is stepping up. If they make the playoffs somehow still I’ll laugh my ass off because they are so lucky the other teams we need to lose have lost games and the wings still cannot capitalize and pick up a couple of points. When a goalie is hot attack the net!!! Gets some net front presence, screens, deflections!! Anything is better the shooting at the goalies chest the whole night! Why didnt lalonde switch things up and make his team get traffic in front. They did it with 1 second left and what happened..they scored!!!! That was last straw for me! I feel your pain. It was all long shots telegraphed to chest and glove. Nobody wanted to get in close and score a dirty goal til the end. Thats what you call a lazy, uncommitted performance by the forwards. For some reason they were scared to death of the goalies crease. They should have been living in and around there all night. I still cant figure it out. This is basic shit. I hate to say it, but that was exactly the kind of shit Bertuzzi used to make a living at.....being in the crease, getting greasy with the defense and goalies....creating havoc in places that aren't comfortable for the opposition......thats exactly what we were missing all night. Players like DeBrincat and Kane (as much as I love Kane thats not his game) arent going to do that all night, and last night, they didnt do it at all.

I was yelling the same thing like a lunatic. It’s just crazy to me that in the most important game of the season, so many eyes for the wings didn’t even question it. Our defencemen on the right side rose his hand as it was happening, so it had to have been discussed on the bench to review it.
the high stick that broke Copp's cheek bone was ignored by 4 refs and Toronto. It was reviewable! How often has anyone else seen a chance to review ignored? The puck was a foot away!!!They also got away with a few trips (one on our 1st PP), should have had a 5-3, and a 3-0 lead after the 1st. Who let Emily have Mickey's spot between the benches? Who sold us out in the ESPN deal?? Mickey Redmond is the best commentator in hockey by far and beyond. Has to be a different feel coming out in the 3rd with Emily standing there laughing instead of a Hockey Hero to give them props.

The players are all well aware of these numbers and know how bad and unfair and harmful to the team these decisions are. Derek Lalonde just cost the Wings a playoff spot to play favorites.

People say debrincat should be playing more, while I think he’s a great player. Perron has been scoring when we need a goal and is very reliable defensively and has great puck control in the ozone. Maybe next game, Cat Kane and Larks will play together. But in my opinion this line is not good enough for playoff type hockey. kane and debrincat can’t win battles
In response to Lindgren; One kinda funny thing is the Wings (franchise as a whole) even during our BEAST mode cup runs we were never able to find an 'AMAZING" goalie. Other than when hasek WANTED to be with us, we were ever only ever to cultivate good to maybe great goalies. Like, in the history of the team since inceptions, haha, odd.

In Pittsburgh's last game Crosby was Hit by a high stick from his own teammate that didn't draw blood and the refs took a look at it! Not blaming the refs because they had a make up call a few minutes later but WTF!
They are the better team honestly. Clear, if this version of the Wings fell backwards into the playoffs it wouldnt be a interesting series no matter what team they faced. Though Penguins are the team i think will make the last spot
he barely did anything tho. it is an impressive performance from him only on paper. in the game the handful of legit chances were all shot right into him.

At this point, I'm hating Perron and his many mistakes per game which he never gets called out for. He needs to go. Ovechkin scored last night because Perron sold Seider out and couldnt even put a puck on a stick and passed it to his skates. Passing pucks to guys skates, and this guy is a veteran. Dumb fuck, I'm really developing a hate thing for him and usually I'm the first to forgive mistakes but he gets away with so many I cant stand watching it. Coach's pet, never gets called out. He talks a massive game and then goes and commits x amount of mistakes per game and I swear if I hear him talk one more time about how much fun he's having right now playing meaningful games (and fucking them up) I'm going to punch the tv.

They were on a crazy bender of high scoring/second highest shooting percentage, while giving up significant goals against. There’s been plenty to demonstrate the roster doesn’t have the talent to play a cogent system with consistency. Lalonde has been explicit about that all season.
Lalonde needs to either go to remedial school on head coaching or just go back to Tampa to be an assistant. These excuses wouldn't take place if the Wings had shown up for 5 weeks defending their lead for a playoff spot. Wings, like the Flyers, don't deserve to go to the playoffs. All we keep hearing are excuses. Stevie Y needs to get rid of Lalonde and these overpaid rentals, except Kane and Debrincat, and build from there. Lalonde and some of the Wings roster should seek a career in politics with all the excuses they come up with..
you want sad, imagine if they'd signed Strome instead of either Copp or Compher. Kane Cat Strome were a sick line and that was w Kane too injured to be much of a goal threat in those years.

They didnt get players inside around the crease all night, thats one thing they could have done. It was lazy, they relied on long shots all night and just completely abandonded the inside game. The one time they DID find their crease game (in the last second of the game no less) they scored. I dont know why it took them so long its like they were scared to death to get players around the goalie all night. Just completely uncommitted to wanting to get inside and create scrums....,too soft......I'm a wings fan but if thats how we're trying to get into the playoffs then we definitely dont deserve a spot. Need to toughen the fuck up and get inside and make some dirty goals. All I saw all night was guys shooting from long range trying to score the showtime reel goal. It was never going to happen. How they couldnt see that after 2 periods and switch it up I'll never know. They only wised up in the last second and got rewarded for it, really dissapointing.
The standard for this team is so low and you can hear it in the way these guys talk. Loser attitude. This is Hockeytown for goodness sake! I see a soft finesse team. No one drives the puck to the net to create havoc, maybe a rebound and get a dirty goal.
@@Matthew456E A good playoff game includes putting pucks in on net and then being there around the crease to create scrums and score dirty goals, none of which detroit was doing, and the one time they DID do it, they scored in the final second. Therein lies a lesson that you have not noticed - they didn't start doing the right things until the last second of the game! It took them that long to figure out that was the only way they were going to score was with a dirty goalline scrum which they did not create enough of. It was one of the least committed peformances I've seen for a while, nobody wanted to get in there, just take lazy long shots all night and stay way outside where its safe lol. We really needed a Bertuzzi type player in there last night to get in the goalies face and fuck his composure up. Nobody bothered to do it, and thats hockey basics.

Rasmussen signed to $3 million/yr for a guy who cant skate, cant pass, cant fight and cant shoot.

I've been saying that for a while about the depth. If we had such great depth, where did it go when Larkin was injured because thats when we hit that 7 game skid. Where was the depth then? If you cant win a game without your captain, by definition there IS no depth.

people down so bad on him need to look up his history. he signed a 3 year extension w Chicago at the start of the 19-20 season, and after signing it he was awful that first year bc he knew the money had been made. but the next two years (actually the first 2 years of the extension) he was amazing. point a game, 45 goal a year pace over 2 years.

What’s the point anymore this team will get destroyed in the playoffs. Need a superstar or two and tbh I’ve always thought larkin is just elite not even a star Seider needs to work on his edges. I think I’ve seen him loose an edge to allow a goal almost 20 times now over the season. Coach is starting to become very questionable with the lines at this point also. Fedorov pls come back and make things right. Retire his jersey and give him his respect.
Why should they give Fedorov his respect when you don't give Kane, who has achieved so much more than Fedorov did, and continues to do so, HIS respect? Obviously the team would very likely lose/have lost a 1st rd matchup vs the 1 seed as the 8, but it is important to get back. And w the right lineups - which Lalonde obviously is incapable of doing at this point - they would have a puncher's chance vs NY, who honestly has some fraudulence to them imo. Carolina in rd 2 would sweep us but NY in rd1? Right lineups could be competitive game to game. Tho now w Copp out, probably not.

Why do people keep saying how great Seider is playing? He's been terrible lately! I think the pressure has really got to him and Petry is horrible as well. It seems we are beaten to the puck all the time during this losing streak. Lalonde is just too passive about this mess. He keeps comparing to how they played early in the season. What?
Yeah weak take. They hustled and were buzzing all game they had 2 mistakes that lead to pretty soft goals. The problem is they never really threatened Washington that bad because they couldn’t score.
One of the things I dont like about Larkin is that he wears his heart on his sleeve too much, and often looks very low after bad losses, like very sulky. Thats not what you need from a leader because other guys take their cue from that and that I imagine, is where the low energy performances come from (you know the ones I mean). You want to show a determined attitude after bad losses, you want to show that you need to kick some ass, you need to keep the energy in the room high grade. He whines too much in public after a bad loss, and hangs on negatives, and sometimes, he's not eloquent with his words. He could be better for sure, but then again, he could be worse. Just protect your feelings a bit more, hide them.....keep a game face, not the sulky we just got our asses handed to us and I'm so pissed off face. There is no time in hockey for that shit, that crap is for when you get knocked out of the post season......thats what golf is for lol. One of the biggest mistakes he ever made as a Captain was crying when Bertuzzi was traded. Save that for home. Captains dont cry in front of a camera, dude, come on. Show an emotion that everybody can take a LEAD from. Dont spread low energy.
I’m as frustrated as the next fan….. However… the Wings dominated 90% of this game. Played well, played hard and lindgren stole the game. It happens. Sucks but it happens.
Lindgren didnt steal the game though, we gave it to him. We didnt get people to the net, we didnt grind at net front, we didnt get greasy in the crease.....we just telegraphed long range shots straight at the goalie like thats the only idea we had. He didnt steal shit, we gave it to him on a silver platter. The ONE time we did do net front stuff we scored. Case closed.
I’m just shocked that through year 6 of the Yzerman era going into year 7, that we don’t have a couple of rookies in this lineup. To many vets and to much money handed out. We could’ve paid a bottom 6 player like 2 million dollars to play like Copp does lol. Or just play a rookie under an elc?
