@@maxhornell6820 Larkin Raymond DeBrincat scored 3. 4th was a makeshift. for the season they are outscoring opponents 19-15 in 263 minutes; per 60 minutes, that avgs out to 4.33 gf to 3.42 ga Larkin Kane DeBrincat meanwhile are outscoring opponents 14-6 in 150 minutes. per 60 minutes, that avgs out to 5.60 gf, 2.40 ga per 60. which is the better line?
@@grayhudson1095buddy what do those statistics matter when 2-3 players are driving the entire team in crunch time right now? DeBrincat has been a non factor for over a month, you can put that line together and they’re not going to have the same results as 2 months ago. He’s a 1 dimensional player that has been turning the puck over and losing battles in our own end. If he’s not producing offense, he has a negative impact. Go watch even just the first goal. He had multiple turnovers/lost battles in our own end just last night. Not even close to worth 8 mill a year, disappeared when we needed him most.
Kane is a someone who should be cycled in when we have possession as soon as i seen that i knew it was over we need speed out there in OT kane is not 25 anymore
Horrible deployment in OT and on the PP. I just don’t get it. Another missed call leading to a goal. Raymond blossoming is a real treat though. Playoffs or not, Razor is demonstrating that he’s a top 6 guy in this league and taking huge strides in his game. If we can address our shortcomings this summer I am confident we will be more consistent next year. These last 20 games have just been painful.
Kane is officially very very gone after what Lalonde just did to him (and will keep doing to him the rest of the way). Will likely not even negotiate w the team. Tough to replace the production esp given when he was producing it.
@@grayhudson1095 I wouldn’t bet on that. I’m not convinced he’s gonna leave. I won’t blame him if he does, because Yzerman has some magic to perform for next year. He’s close to home here, he has a good friend on the team, Detroit has amenities that other teams do not, etc. BUT, if he’s looking to chase a cup… yeah we’re a ways off from that. Also, Yzerman May not want to fork out the money for him. At a PPG, he’s definitely going to get a raise.
Tough game, atleast we got the point tho. Raymond and Larks really carrying this team, and the only two D that have played well were matta and seids, also no refs helping em out this game, just the way it goes sometimes
One of the few games Lyon really didn't help us AT ALL. You should be winning scoring 5+. Really critical loss but love the zero quit in this year's team.
Detroit has the easiest strength of schedule between the Caps, Pens and Flyers for that last wildcard spot. I think there is plenty of hope to hold on to.
Maybe, I’m not sure, but either way, it’s not at all impossible that Detroit gets at least 3 points (which they need, otherwise it’s unfortunately over) and that the other teams don’t get enough points to get passed them. I’m not giving up until it’s mathematically impossible to reach the playoffs! Why should I? 😀

Too many guys didn't contribute tonight. Against the Capitals, everyone played well. Tonight, Sprong's inability to read a defensive weakness, Lyon's inability to stop a breakaway, Kane, Perron and Compher's inability to create more, etc. doomed them.
@@TimmyGotTriggered88 Kane is 'off' bc he's playing w garbage and his heart is not in it. He has mentally and emotionally checked out and can't wait to be on another team w a real coach who will reward players for productivity and play them w other good players, not bury them.
We're still in. Guys believe and we will get over this hump. Just tie with points and have more wins than the rest of contending going for the last spot and we're in.

Lalonde doesn’t sound desperate or urgent. It’s as if he doesn’t care or it’s no big deal. Majority of his team LOOKS like how he sounds. Can this guys passive optimism actually spark a fire?
Detroit media is super soft, they ask the easiest softball questions, coaches and players have no accountability. Really starting to sour on this coaching staff, think theyve used what maybe 1 time out all season?! Cmon. Theres 100 examples this season we could look back on where it would have make sense and maybe changed the momentum of a game, and a couple Ls turned into Ws and theyve clinched a spot by now. Hope Steve has nightmares about those Ls to arizona and makes some changes.
I’m all for Lalonde trying to remain neutral or positive but the “underlying numbers” and “we still have a chance” mentalities are what has killed this team.
if Lalonde had played Larkin Kane DeBrincat as the top line the past 2 games (and next 3) the team would have won both games, would make the playoffs, and might even steal some games vs NY. and Kane very well might have come back. now the playoffs are in serious doubt and Kane will not even be taking Yzerman's calls this offseason.
It is refreshing to see how deeply Larkin cares. Lyon was terrible. Please don't play him in Toronto, but it is probably too late to make postseason. Raymond is really growing. Postseason birth is only about growth at this point. We all know that this team isn't going to go deep in the playoffs even if they do make it.

They scored 5 goals. Goaltending was a problem this game. A few goals should have been stopped but weren’t. Also, no one is forcing you to watch so just stop watching if you can’t wait for the season to be over 😂

You cycle Kane out in OT when you have possession lalonde, the dudes 36 with a hip surgery. That's really bad coaching. We're still in it though just got to win out. Gg Raymond.
you are correct but Kane wasn't even why they lost in OT. Compher's faceoff patheticness started it, then watch Gostisbehere on the losing play. People trashing Kane for the effort but that isn't even his guy. That's Ghost's guy. Ghost went to double Crosby for no reason, and when Karlsson got it he was standing there right in front of Lyon, covering no one, screening his own goalie. and then didn't even block the shot. Kane was on his own guy doing his job - but he is definitely not going to be doing multiple people's jobs on defense. that's on Gostisbehere.

Kane has 7 game winning goals in Detroit despite not having played the whole season. Not many players in the league have more than him (and they have played many more games). He can score those important goals, I don’t think it’s crazy to play him in OT. Sure, he’s not as fast as he used to be, he has probably not even fully recovered yet (his words), but the thing with him is that he often intentionally slows the game down. Being patient with the puck, looking for opportunities. And it’s working, the only other Wing that has more points per game than him is Larkin.
@@Detroitgondoit I agree with you, but even w the mistake of him being out wo possession, he wasn't really at fault on the last shot. He got ran by Karlsson I think it was, initially to the net, who beat him and missed the chance, but then he got back to his man. Ghost is the one who never got back into position.
@@lenaforsgren he's not talking about playing him at all in OT, obviously not only should Kane play in OT he should probably be the main guy you play in OT, he's the best OT guy. the issue is when you put him out there in OT. Lalonde did it on a faceoff. Kane has to be cycled in when your team has already won possession.
Tanguay needs to go been saying it for a couple years now. Also need to get rid of a good majority of these old slow veteran players. Time to take the next step even if we do manage to make the playoffs.
Long post, maybe nobody is interested. I would like to apologize to all who get very annoyed when fans (like me) are too positive, not wanting to fire Lalonde (unless Steve and the players aren't happy with him), not thinking the team is trash every time they lose (and often when they win, too), not being overly frustrated about the losing streak (since January and February were magically fun), truly enjoying this rollercoaster ride, thinking that reaching the playoffs would be a bonus, not something that the Red Wings were supposed to do, thinking that these meaningful games are extremely exciting and also valuable, not thinking that the rebuild is too slow, not hating the veterans, and also believing that the future is bright (without counting on Detroit becoming a serious contender any time soon). I'm sorry, I'm 100% guilty and if you're annoyed I prefer not to hear about it, to be honest. It's like telling someone who is smiling that they shouldn't smile since they themselves aren't smiling. What's the point in that? Anyway, I'd love to hear from anyone who refuse to give up, just like the Red Wings refuse to give up. What are your thoughts? I will not count them out until it's mathematically impossible to reach the playoffs and I'm hoping that it will come down to the very last game. That would be awesome! Even more awesome, obviously, if Detroit succeeds, but the odds are against them, so I'm not too optimistic. But if Washington and Philly get at most 2 points each and Pittsburgh at most 1 point it's enough if Detroit gets 3, unless I'm mistaken. That's not at all impossible. Let's Go Red Wings! Also, I would love it if Raymond scored at least one more goal to reach 30 this season, and Mr Postman (DeBrincat) to score some goals. I think he deserves that! And why not let Kane score (at least) one more game winning goal, he has 7 already, despite having played only 47 games. Quite remarkable!
Could have won by 2. If only Kane would shoot the puck and Edvinsson would have shot the puck. Easily win the game by 2. Those were empty net goals. Defense also needs to get out of the way. Half need to be gone next season no matter what happens the last 3 games.

This team is all over the place. I'm over the same excuses every year. I feel like the yzerplan was just a ploy to put people in seats at LCA. Something's gotta change this offseason.

The complete collapse back in March killed them. I’m done. I’m exhausted watching this team. I just don’t care anymore now. What they do from here on out. Season has been a major let down. No scoring from DeBrincat. Offense has been atrocious and hard to come by. Everything went to shit in the most important time of the season. March and April.

PIT, WSH, and PHI have to lose at least once if Detroit wins out. PHI and WSH have to lose one of their next two games, because one is guaranteed two points when they play next Tuesday.
