@@lillypharaoh5945 I really like Lee too. The show has tons of great characters. The two mentioned in this thread and one that I personally liked, Richard Lee.
@@Hasnain1F Lee is amazing he's the only character with his heart 100% in the right place in a setting where all the characters even the good ones are morally grey, even the mean stuff he does comes from a moral standpoint, he's a breath of fresh air from the characters in the tong and the Irish who both seem to have their good moments but also moments where they couldn't be more terrible.
It also feels like him and Ahsam might get along later. The last conversation they had, it seemed like Leary had some type of respect and admiration for Ahsam. This show has some amazing characters.
Leary became one of my favorites, when he stopped the beating of 2 Blackman that walked into his bar for a drink! His reasoning was simple enough and to the point. But he did tell them not to come back because it’s an Irish bar
He basically warned them for their sakes because black people were barely freed from slavery not too long ago. Leary clearly has respect for them and their struggles given his part in the civil war, but that doesn't mean they're safe from others even his own kin.
@@h0rn3d_h1st0r1anhay esperanza aun, dijeron que le van a dar la serie a netflix, pero no se sabe si en netflix la van a continuar o solo pondrán los capítulos que ya hay
Cause they rather hype shows that talk about nonsense and bring nonstop cringe political Agendas lmao. I mean even this last season tried to shove a lot of mainstream shit but it still respected the art of storytelling and didn’t just force BS diversity or all that. Hollywood rather have political points than make good TV or just put garbage with garbage actors to appeal to tik tokers. F them and this show better get one last season at least.
@@ImajenThat I wouldn't say Leary got conned into politics. He became a forced to be reckoned with there, in a short time with a ruthless but effective teacher. He simply didn't learn the art fast enough to recognize that his mentor didn't give a damn about him and his.
Liked Leary this season because he's reckoning with what ah sahm said to him last season about Irish not being real americans either. He had to deal with that himself and so acts much more like Ah sahm. Also like the hateship thing they got going. They stil hate each other but recognize each other as well sa individuals rather than just race or part of a collective. Just the fact that Leary went into Chinatown by himself shows respect because it echoes what ah sahm did last season
and also the fact he comments its his first time being there and seeing all the businesses and people just trying to survive probably mirrored what he sees everyday when he sees his people struggling to feed their families.
It would have worked against any ordinary man who couldn't hold his own. Unfortunately for them, Leary is no ordinary man and he can more than hold his own.
Leary clearly demands respect, which seems to be something that he doesn't receive often. I think his fight with Ah Sahm in the back alleys proved to him that the Chinese are capable of being more than what they make them out to be. I noticed an immediate change in Leary's demeanor towards them after that fight. They traded a lot of blows, but you have to admit that the look on Leary's face when Ah Sahm punched him in the diaphragm, causing his heart to skip a beat, was something of pure surprise. Like, "Holy shit, I've finally met my match, and he's everything I didn't want him to be."
I think Leary and Ah Sahm may still not fully like each other but they will have made respect for one another and work together. Getting real tired of Mai Ling character tho. She caused Li Young to kill his best friend. Sadly, I think Li Young will die by Zing when he returns
You could see that they had respect for each other when Leary came to Chinatown to talk to him about the Irish guys getting jumped outside that saloon. And yeah, l’ve been waiting for Mai Ling to get hers for a while now. The only thing that took her down a peg was when she got arrested for supposedly soliciting.
@@ImajenThat I just want somebody to end her life. I don't want to see her get tortured. And I think they picked a great person to play her because you hate her so much. But when she is in a vulnerable spot, you feel bad for her because of everything she's been through. Also how they used to treat China people in general back then hitting them with that powdered soap desanitized crap and then hitting them with cold high pressured water. Even Ah Sahm hated it when he was getting hit by it so I can only imagine her.
Leary might be one of the greatest antagonist in Tv, Not only cause of how strong he is, He’s not just a one dimensional racist bigot, his character is so great, his motives are completely understandable, and he shares a lot of similarities to Ah Sahm,
You go try to put down a man, be ready to go down trying or make sure you drop him first. That's why I like a phrase.. "I love hitmen.. there's nothing you can do to them that you'd feel bad about later"
This series is absolutely the best, I just finished watching it a couple of weeks ago. It really depicts of what we know, the dirty play in this world is older then the people in it today
Breaks his hand before beating him to death with a mallet. Guess he was afraid the mallet would knock him out and he wouldn't feel the pain of the mallet
THis is enough for me, thanks. I'll be sure to miss this series and watch something a little more, shall we say, less violent and more closer to reality.
