Dynamic DNS allows you to dynamically update your DNS records if you have a Dynamic IP address from your ISP. You install an app on a computer on your network, and it checks your WAN IP address periodically and then updates your DNS records.
NoIP.com and DynDNS.org are the most prominent Dynamic DNS Providers. You can either buy your domain name from them, or you can forward your domain name to a subdomain you create with them. i.e. FailedNormal.com --- FailedNormal.no-ip.com

It is possible to roll your own dynamic DNS. On the server side I have two Virtual Private Servers @ Linode which run Bind/named. The routers are configured to update the DNS servers via the ddclient script which is configured for nsupdate. This is great for those who want a FQDN or subdomain pointing directly to their routers.

do you have a video on how to get a SIM card with a static IP to use in a cellular router? It seems freedns.. noip.. and the others don't work with an ATT SIM.

Thanks for the great video. I watched your other port forwarding aslo & I need to be able to put these 2 together to understand exactly how to do remote access to my cable modem/router combo to acess and config from outside network so that I can change/modify specs for parental control purpose.
