Just got my first GL1800 and want to install all LED lights and saw this comment on WingStuff and wonder if anyone ran in to this issue: "I love these turn signals however do not try to use these with the Pathfinder Ultra flash brake light bulbs and rear turn signal leds. The turn signals will cancel when you apply the brakes. If you do use both products just use your amber rear turn signal bulbs and everything will work."

a JIS screwdriver set would be a great investment and a lot less stripping of the heads. just a suggestion for working on a Japanese motorcycle.

Installed the same lights on my 2008 Gl1800 plus the same Pathfinder daytime running lights/ directional/ fog lights and Muth mirrors/ signal. All the lights work, but not all at the same time, left turn signal activated, the bottom light on, mirror light and directional off and visa versa. Same with right directionals. Completely out of sequence. Installed new L.ED flasher. What could that be? followed your video installs on these same products.

Good Morning Chris. I’m wondering if you have updated this video for the 2018+ bikes. I recently had my bike fall against the wall and cracked the right forward facing lense. Stopped by the dealer and was informed the part is $155 sealed unit. So I thought why not upgrade to sequential turn signals. The manufacture used in this gl1800 video says they have it but its not available until 8/22. Any help would be appreciated.

I've been watching this video for a while now and realising how badly this light was designed. I've got 2013. US model GW with adjustable screen and plenty of other aftermarket lights installed. Ive ordered this and had lot of trouble to get this delivered to Balkans. First of all, installing procedure is difficult due to a screw position on a tension plate for the screen, then connection socket is occupied by this set up and there's no other for extra gear installed (like myth LED mirrors for ex.), if I use one provided then I need to disconnect all other lights due to a cable restriction (there's no extension same type female socket). Then its impossible to link the cable between two mirrors due to a adj. screen (screen will mess the wires if lowered) and cable is too thick which get us to a final flaw of a product: why on earth did you put that interconnection 4 wire cable between two mirrors in a first place? US model has constant positive for daylights and separate for indicators, so three wires already. Other product utilize those three to get light and indicators separated for left and right side. In this case if something goes bad (I mean, already did, it cant be fitted) you lose both indicators and daylights, like connector between sides isnt waterproof, its cheap chinese type. I dont get it why did you did this so complicated? If it was just to save few bucks on controller for each side its ridiculous. Further more it run out of sync with other indicators installed, it so crappy designed! Btw, Im experienced electronic expert with 30yrs into general electronic, LED lighting and such and I will get around all this by extending wires, cutting it, soldering and everything but this not should be the case...I would not recommend this product to others as its not DIY for the average person.

Hi CruiseMan Garage, As always, thanks for a great video. This, marked as v2, deals with the reinstalling, something missing from the 26th March Video. Great. I just bought today the MUTH Mirror for the 2016 GL1800, and also this Pathfinder Dynamic Sequential LED Turn Signals. I want to install both tomorrow. I have watched your video installing the MUTH LED Mirrors. Both these videos are very clear regarding installation if installing either. However, what happens if installing both? Do these 2 products may have common wiring connectors, and what I should do to connect the 2 products from 2 different manufacturers. Should I connect the MUTH Mirrors first? And, with these in place, any procedure that should be changed from the video above while installing the Pathfinder Sequential Turn Signals? Grateful for guidance on installing both products, Thanks.

I have the MUTH signal mirrors running in conjunction with my Pathfinder LEDs, so you should be OK.

I just added the LED blinker lights and did not install the flasher. This is what I noticed. As you said the rear blinkers blink very fast, 2nd- when I use my key fob and set the alarm, the front bliinkers do not blink anymore and 3rd- when I turn the key to accessories the blinker lights now come on. If I install the flasher will this be solved?
@cruisemansgarage
@cruisemansgarage 6 лет назад
The LED flasher will resolve the rapid blinking issue. However the turn signals no longer flashing with the remote button will continue, same with the accessory key position. This was necessary for proper electrical coordination between the LED DRLs and the sequential turn signals. However, you should know that the LED DRLs draw VERY LITTLE power from the battery.

I like the lights but something needs to be done about the other 2 issues. I personally liked seeing my blinkers flash to tell me my bike is locked. The other I guess is easier for me to live with. Thanks for the reply.

Oh also would like to see a more in depth video on the installation of the flasher. Seems like the current video just stops. No detail on what to plug to or what I guess that is a mounting bar, what it mounts to.

You may want to email SoCalMotoGear about the other issues. As I recall, it had something to do with the hazard lights working correctly. Some sort of load issue.

I understand now why you didn't go into more detail about replacing the flasher. Tore it down, no problem, found the flasher, no problem. Getting the flasher off the mounting bracket, some problem. Problem, getting the wire off the flasher. Question. There are 2 plugs. One is for the stock plug, what is the second one for?

What exactly does the LED flasher do? Do you have to install it? I feel comfortable replacing these but not that flasher.
@cruisemansgarage
@cruisemansgarage 6 лет назад
You don't have to, but the stock flasher is designed for standard signal bulbs, not LEDs, which have a different resistance. If you leave the stock flasher in place, your turn signals will flash more rapidly.

I’ve purchased your series of instructions for maintaining a Honda Goldwing however this may be a quicker answer to my question here. About a month ago I bought a used 2005 Honda Goldwing California sidecar trike. One of the low beam bulbs needed replacement. I attempted to install an LED replacement but went to my local Honda dealer for advice and he sold me the stock bulb which I installed. He said the LED bulbs screw up the computer system in the Honda and did not recommend installing that. So I installed the bulb he sold me and it’s a match for the other one that was in there. The attempted initial installation of the LED may have affected the computer system as he said because the hazard warning lights will not turn off now and also the Cruise Control remains on. If I disconnect the battery will that reset the computer system and bring everything back to normal? Alternatively where can I find the information I need in your instructions? I need help here ; ) My goal is to maintain this motorcycle myself. Thank you.

I don't think an LED would cause an issue with the cruise control. The only side effect I am aware of is that it might make your flashers/turn signals flash too rapidly. Unhooking the battery might resolve the cruise issue.

Your comment section would not let me correct the wording so I have to do this all over again would like to know if I have to change out the Flasher that I put those special rear LED lights in that flash like they do and was wondering if I have to change the Flasher out again for the front turn signals that you are showing here or can I keep that flasher that's installed with those new LED lights for the rear of my 2009 Goldwing
@cruisemansgarage
@cruisemansgarage 3 года назад
Once you add an LED flasher you should not have to replace it.

Hello my friend I was watching this video installation of the front turn signal lights and I have a question I am installing those special lead life for the break and turn signals in the back of my 2009 Goldwing in the question is can I use the Flasher that came with that installation or do I have to change that flasher again for the front turn signals or will that flasher operate as well for the front turn signals as well as . new LED light rear installation..??? I will be waiting for your response before I make a purchase
@cruisemansgarage
@cruisemansgarage 3 года назад
You only need to install ONE LED flasher, you do not need to re-install a second time.

Hello Cruz man this is. Emmett. I installed that Pathfinder lead lights with flasher for the tail lights on my 2009 Honda Goldwing but they did not flash like the demonstration model that you did the install on . Is that because I have for running and brake lights back then on my 2009 top and bottom.. And secondly when you do an install the information that you put up on the screen does not stay up there long enough it's like a Flash and then it's off you really need to do something about that my friend
@cruisemansgarage
@cruisemansgarage 3 года назад
If you replaced the flasher on your Goldwing with the LED flasher, then the BRAKE lights should flash/modulate when you press on the brakes IF you have installed the Ultra-Flash LEDs. If they do NOT flash when you press the brakes, it is possible that the incorrect bulb was put in the wrong socket.

Question on my 2009 Goldwing are those wire connections inside going to be the same color as the ones you are showing here on this later model Goldwing because that's very important to know..???

That is a good question. I THINK so, but am not 100% sure. They should be the same.
