Dynamo Basics 07: Trimming and Attractor Curve

In this video, I'm going to show you how to trim away multiple curves from a nurbs surfaces from Alias. I'll also show you how to modulate the radius of each circle using an attractor curve, which you'll be able to change afterwards, without having to re-open Dynamo.

Great videos! Having been an avid Alias user for the past 3 years at University this is certainly a very different way of doing things. Would it be possible to put a request in? During the promo for Dynamo with Alias, they use a wheel and demonstrate the modelling capability with Dynamo, by changing various options, etc. Would you be able to do a tutorial on how to create a basic wheel for the purpose of using it in Alias? Once again, great videos! I look forward to future uploads!

Hi Christian - thank you for the feedback. About the wheel example, I didn't make it myself but it is publicly available on the Autodesk website so you can download it now and study it. knowledge.autodesk.com/support/alias-products/downloads/caas/downloads/content/alias-sample-files.html

Very cool tutorial and valuable knowledge! IMHO you should´ve cut the parts where you were just searching for errors in the algorithm to make the video more concise. But nevertheless, keep up the great work! I look forward to more in the future!

Hi Jonathan - I could try to do some editing but it's the most time consuming part of making a RU-vid video. Also this is also proof that most problems in Dynamo don't need a lot of fixing if you know that you're on the right path.
