Not supposed to blow at all on most filters because the pressure parts the media = lets dirt through where it's parted/damaged... I don't keep up with all brands, and I only work on bikes but for sure know it's OK to clean Sprint Filters with air (instructions) "use an air jet, in the opposite direction of suction"... K&N says rinse from the Clean Side with LOW-PRESSURE Water and "allow filter to dry naturally"... I cheat on that though, after I figured out the suction on the intake side of my dyno fans will hold some K&N in place (I use bungee to hold other filters in place) and the air getting sucked through (and around) the filter dries them "quickly" 👍😁

I always wash from the inside out using low pressure water and dry with very low warm low pressure air

We used to clean oiled cotton/gause filter with standard hose nozzle spray and would blow them dry with compressed air...until we noticed were able to see through holes in the filter media.

Free flowing exhaust correctly sized has always been the way to go for power
