Jesus Christ loves you. It's really true. He went up that cross for you. And me. He, who knew no din, was made sin for you, and me, so that we could be God's perfect righteousness in Him.

Yall probably won't see this since it's been 2 years but anyhow. I struggled with addiction from about 15 - 24 years old. My family just tried to love it out of me. I wish they had given me an ultimatum like yours did. It took me going to prison for 5 years to realize what I was missing. I got out 10 years ago and have a great life now. I thank God every day for all my blessings and answering my mama's prayers.

Was addicted to drugs for 6 years. Got sober at 24 my parents didn’t even tell me they were proud of me. Now I’ve been sober close to a year. Got a good job, just got my own house. My parents could still care less. I’d do anything to have my parents show me love like that. EDIT: Thank all you guys for the kind words!! Still going strong. It’s been a battle but it’s definitely shaping me into the man I know I’m suppose to be and looking back now at 27 I can truly say I’m proud of my self and how far I’ve came! Hope all of you stay blessed in this crazy world.

I understand what you are saying. We are taught that family is supposed to be the most important thing in a society that is slowly tearing the family unit apart. We are told that blood is thicker than water, but in many cases it's not. It's not even like water... It is like sand slipping through your fingers. This family is so blessed, and such a great example of what family was designed to be. What I think we all wish for, and so the disappointment of not having had the opportunity to experience this can be a hard thing to overcome. My family was nothing like this... And I share this not to shame them, but because I believe there is a greater purpose for every story when it is told right... Out of a spirit of love and forgiveness, rather than anger and resentment, or even shame. I had an excruciating emotional time of life in my mid 30's where I left a marriage to a narcissistic man, to find out months later I was losing both of my fathers, paternal and step, to terminal lung cancer and my best friend to pancreatic cancer. The "Christian" friends I had began condemning me for behavior that was none of their business, and my family, and even the non Christian friends I picked up along my six year journey to drink myself to death, sat by and watched it happen. Clueless to what was going through my mind. My family sat back, with their arms crossed watching just like, Well... There she goes AGAIN... 🤷‍♀️ I blamed the people I felt failed me for the longest time. Questioning my value as a person to anyone because of their behavior towards me when I felt I had needed them most. But I never could find healing from those hurts until I realized where it was coming from. And the answer is not the devil. The answer was it was coming from me. From the way I was filtering information THROUGH the hurt I had already experienced in life causing an emotional reaction to blame the ones who had hurt me and block everyone else out. It wasn't until I was able to disconnected myself emotionally from those experiences, that I was able to forgive them and move on with my life. It has only been about a year of this 16 year journey... But it has honestly been the best year of my life in some ways... Because I am free from everything that came from that. The anger, hurt, and resentment. The fear, shame, and guilt I had felt as a result of those things. There is this saying... The devil is in the details... And that is an absolute truth... When we get so focused on the details of what has happened, the details of how much hurt it has caused, is still causing, and every manner it caused us hurt... We are dwelling emotionally in that reality that doesn't even exist anymore because it's over. It's NOT happening anymore... Except in our mind... Because we unconsciously are allowing it to. I Love what Phil was told when he received Christ... Love God, and Love your neighbor. The only thing that man forgot was the part about loving ourself. Our society is so full of an obnoxious version of self love I get why no one wants to talk about it, but we need to because it is important, and is something Jesus commanded us to do. Love our neighbor as ourself. We have misunderstood what it means to Love ourself. We automatically seem to think it means we would be esteeming ourselves above others to not think of ourselves as a horrible wretch saved by grace. But let me ask you something... If we view ourselves as that, then how COULD we "love ourselves", or even believe we are truly loved for that matter? To Love ourselves is to extend to ourselves first, the Love and forgiveness God has extended to us, so we then have that same Love and forgiveness to extend to others. I love this song because this is what repentance looks like... It was just the same for me when I reached the end of myself as it was for him, only my horses were real, not steel... 🤣 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4WaE0DEk_s8.html

I was laying in bed one morning in jail and just decided no matter what I would never go back to that life when I got out. In one month, Aug 27th, it'll be 5 years sober. @@idg1216ig are you referring to how he said "what took you so long"? When the family intervened? If so, I have to agree with you, based on my life experience. But, whats different here, is they have a family unit. God, morals, and Phil made it so that his family was raised the way he thought God wanted. No the way we do.. My dad is a good man, he's a Catholic, and has always loved me. But, he is not a Phil Robinson. The way the two men see things and do things are night and day. My dad believes in the world. Phil believes in God's word. That is why the family is so close, why they have such a bond. Phil has lead them as closely to God as he could, and then they, in turn, chose to follow his lead. Its beautiful. It is what I want for my family going forward, though I don't have the same situation. I will have to find my way to God and His plan for me. Somehow.

After your done you need to find a Jesus name church and get baptized in Jesus name. Heavenly Father I know I’m a sinner and I believe Jesus is the savior. So Jesus right now I repent from all my knowing and unknown sins and ask you to forgive me. I ask you to come into my heart right now and make me a son of God. I receive you as my Lord and Savior. And i surrender my life to you right now. I promise I will serve you for all the days of my life. In Jesus name Amen!!!

Jesus was a sinless man that was crucified so that our sins can be forgiven. You must pray the “sinners pray” for Jesus to come into your heart and life to forgive and save you from eternal damnation. You must believe he died for you and his death is Gods gift to you by accepting this gift you will live eternally with the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is an act of obedience to God and it symbolizes the cleansing of the sins. Do it before it too late you’ll never regret it. If you don’t like it the devil has no problem taking you back. For me and mine ain’t no way I’m going back to hell. Jesus love you man ask him into your heart it will be the best day of your life.

Was a drug addict for 2 years straight. Started off just doing a little line of coke here and there, then to meth, and before it was over I was shooting cocaine and nippin on heroin here and there. I met my wife and she got me sober after 6 long months of fighting for me. If it wasn’t for my wife and the lord above, I know I wouldn’t be alive. I gave up smoking cigarettes a year later, smoking pot a year after that. I’ve been clean for 4 years now, and love life. I hope any of you struggling out there find peace and comfort. Just another crutch is saying that replacing one addiction with another is still unhealthy. It’s a difficult circumstance to comprehend sometimes because a lot of people refuse to see the negative side of religious belief due to generationally being brainwashed again and again throughout the years. I grew up religious. Went to church every Sunday and Wednesday and numerous religious trips as a youth until I was about 17. I’m no longer religious and would say that my moral compass has increased with the departure of religious beliefs. I learned accountability instead of passing off my problems to a magical being in the sky which ushered in a change. There’s always prayer and hope but until one puts in work themselves for change. Until one decides enough is enough it’s not over. That one isn’t a jesus or a god. I hope your daughters father finds the strength to straighten up for her. Having a child is what ultimately what led to my change. I’m not the best person in the world but I try to be a better person daily.

I too was an addict, and it came very, very close to taking my life and taking me away from my wife and 2 kids! I was doing some very bad and heavy stuff and I was hiding it from my family! No one really found out how bad I was until it was almost to late! It was almost 4 years ago now, it was actually the day of the last Eclipse we had! I was so sick I can't even get out of the bed so my wife finally talked me into going to the hospital and I don't remember making it there! Next thing I know I wake up 3 weeks later in the hospital! I went into a coma in just less then a hour of making it the hospital! But when I finally did wake up like 3 weeks later I couldn't even talk because I had to have a tracheotomy, because of where I was out so long and had to be on life support! But when I finally did wake up I had now idea what happened or where I was! But my wife of 15 years was right there beside me and she explained to me, cuz I couldn't even ask any question because I have that thing in my throat, that I went to the coma and had to have open heart surgery! But altogether I had to have open heart surgery, I went to complete kidney failure and had to be on dialysis, had multiple Strokes and many other things! And even though my wife didn't even know what I was doing she stuck by me the whole time and she absolutely saved me! The first hospital I was in didn't want to help me because I was a drug user but she fought and fought to get me help switch eventually found a place that took me by plane and they did the surgery! Even though she was fighting with my parents and other family and even the hospital because my family didn't even want me to go, and the hospital was trying to say there was no chance to save me, they was telling her to bring my kids to say goodbye to me but I thank her everyday for not listening to any of them and doing everything she could to save me! If it wasn't for her I Really wouldn't be here! But here I am now four years later clean and sober!!! I mean I do have a lot of health issues now but at least I'm still here! But anybody that maybe reading this that's battle on any kind of addiction there's always hope just don't never give up There's always hope! My biggest downfall was never asking for help because I was ashamed! Just remember there's always hope 💙

After years of fighting alcohol, I got on my knees and asked God to keep me sober the rest of that day and promised I would do the work to stay that way every day after. That was December 12, 2002 and I haven't touched a drop since, nor do I hardly ever even have a thought of it. I drank every day, to the point of passing out many days for years. I’m 31 and have struggled with addiction since I was 18 right out of higher school... it all stated in school with all the party’s on the weekends and I felt like I had control cause of only going out on weekends then when I graduated from school I graduated to stronger and more dangerous drugs, I’ve been sober for 7 years and I’m happy with who I’ve become and the father that I am to the cutest daughter and two boys, I wouldn’t change it for the world and I’m so glad for my family stepping in and helping me back up on my feet when they did because I wouldn’t be here today without their help! God bless you jep! Keep it up brother! IN GOD WE TRUST!

My heart aches for you. I will pray for you! Here is some advice. Surround yourself with Godly authority. Keep yourself busy serving others. Serve food at a homeless shelter. Be in Church every Sunday. Listen to Christian music. There is Christian music in every genre so there is no excuse. You cannot serve two masters. Read your Bible. Watch youtube videos on God's promises. Stand firm on your faith. Humble yourself to heed others advice. Love yourself value yourself. Be teachable. Set goals and surround yourself with people who will help you achieve those goals. Root out people who do not have your best interests at heart.
