I have been comfortable in my isolation. I keep to myself and don't have many friends. I don't trust people because they scare me, so I withdrawel. I know it's not healthy, but it's comfortable and safe! I've been feeling a tugging at my soul, telling me to get into a small group at church. I know it's God speaking to me, and despite how uncomfortable it makes me feel I registered to find a group. I was told a while back, God is more concerned with our character than our comfort, and listening to Pastor Steve confirmed it. I pray for the courage and guidance to find the right group and to Come Out of my dysfunctional isolation.

I've never asked for prayer on any of Pastor Stevens videos but today I would like to ask for prayer. I have been trying to reconcile my relationship with God for myself and would eventually like for my bf to also build a relationship with God. I just feel he can't do so if I don't set an example. So I ask for prayer to have strength to overcome temptation and obstacles, wisdom to guide me down the right path, patience for when I don't see change right away, and trust even when it seems like God isnt working that I trust in his timing and what he is doing.💕 So I can be an example to others not just through words but actions. 🙏🏼❤️

Pastor Steven makes too much sense all the time, i can’t get enough of his messages ... it’s so rich and empowering. I’m in awe of what God speaks through you sir.. you are such a voice and blessing to my life..

I’ve realized that half of the time I prayed, I prayed for something pointless and not meaningful. Today, I’m praying and begging him to heal my dog who is very sick. She saved my life in my darkest hours, she’s been the perfect dog, never bit anyone. She stayed by my moms side when she was sick. She’s been the purest and most loving dog I’ve ever had. Please pray for her health. I’m ok with letting her go of old age but I don’t want her leaving like this. If anyone’s reading this please pray for her. Her name is Reese’s.

I feel like breaking down the house tonight!!! I’m going crazy with joy!!! I felt the Holy Spirit flow through me like a warm relaxing oozing throughout my whole body. From my head to my toes!!!! No more indulging my insecurities, no more blaming God, no more being comfortable in my situation, but more believing that my being uncomfortable is serving a purpose to get me from where I am to where I need to be. "In the process of taking care of his physical needs, I stopped meeting the emotional needs that he had to be a dad to me" The minute (and I mean the minute) I woke this morning, I saw this sermon. This part got me. It spoke ABOUT me and summed up what I felt for so long that I was never even able to put into words. I ruined the very nature of the relationship. I became the mom and dad when I'm supposed to be their 16 year old child. Recently, I asked God to restore my family. Then today I came to realize after those words that it was my fault. I've always felt like a parent. The way I think, the way I act, the way I weigh out certain things to help situations. I've always felt like a parent. But recently God has been telling me to start being like a kid. Stop thinking about taxes when I'm only 16, stop thinking about moving out and working when I'm not even 16 and a half, stop thinking about how you're going to take care of your family thousands of miles away and your younger cousins and how you're going to raise them as if your their parent. God has been telling me to press on the brakes. I violated the very nature of the relationship because I didn't know the function. I grew up where pressure has been on me to help out my family so I grew up in the dysfunctional system and mindset of thinking that it was up to me to make things work, leading me to spiral in worry, fear, and anxiety. Its one thing to have a sermon be FOR you. But it's another for a sentence or a phrase in the sermon AND the sermon itself be ABOUT you. It was so personal that I couldn't get it out of my head at all since I woke up. Thank you pastor Furtick for this.

From this moment I declare that I will not stay in a dysfunctional comfort anymore, through the Blood of Jesus. Amen.

Woke up this morning at 7am PST searching for this weeks sermon haha. Always eager to hear Pastor Steven preach! I am a college student in San Francisco so my faith is challenged every day. I so wish I could attend Elevation Church in person. Pastor Steven speaks straight from God's heart into mine. An anointed man!

Been fighting with myself on the decision to watch this sermon because that very word dysfunction scared me now I know why I’ve become comfortable in my dysfunction my oh my this sermon convicted me in areas of myself that I didn’t even realize was wrong and it just reminded me of last year around this time when I felt a spiritual emptiness and the things-he has said in this sermon was my very problem it was like God literally speaking through this man Wow ❤️

This powerful sermon spoke to me more than any sermon I’ve ever listened to. I know all the heart ache I’ve gone though is to glorify our Lord and Savior. The quotes that resonate in my soul...“Some people are good TO but not good FOR you.” and “The devil wants us to go somewhere else, besides God, for our comfort.” Philippians 1:12 Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, what has happened to me has actually served to advanced the glory.

41:06: “The spirit of Christ is in this place.” Chills every.single.time. Can’t explain that moment, but it always hits. So moving.

This sermon showed up in my mail box and it brought tears to my eyes. There is a man in the background that yells "YEAH!" and I sure do miss that guy and all the noises of a crowded church building. This is my third time watching this and I literally just went through deliverance while listening to this video 🙌🏽 GLORY to God!

I keep wondering why after these past couple weeks i havent been able to keep up with the savage Jesus series. Im usually on it when it comes to watching elevation sermons. But today, i think i understand why. Somewhere around 4mins in, he talk about dysfuntional comfort, Cepharnahum (sp?) bring denounced cause of their comfort, and such. I already knkw i struggle with dysfunctional comfort and feel like i cant escape it though i know i want to. But idk, after watching this sermon for like the 3rd or 4th time i feel like God's doing His best to get me to understand this point in my spirit and not just my mind. For me, its dufficult to come out of this dysfunctional comfort after so many years. I dont want to turn out like Sodom and Gomorrah nor Cepharnahum. Prayers would be wonderful if your spirit feels inclined to

God just ministered this word to me : ) 3 years ago God healed me of chronic illness: He did a miracle raising me up from my bed, and i thought great - LIFE! But it wasn't what I thought it would be. Now I see that healing was the simple bit, just the beginning; God has been turning everything upside down, shaking out the rubbish and calling me out of my dysfunctions. As I prayed the prayer at the end I felt the Spirit dragging out the dregs. He really is 'making ALL things new', as he promised back then. (Rev 21:5)
