I see myself in you. No I’m not a distinguished scientist. But, I’m very much like you in how you think spatial/scale/consciousness (as another being, my consciousness joins with their consciousness, so I can see from their vantage point). I too, speak with a lot of um’s until I forget my discomfort and focus on sharing the knowledge. I feel that my dyslexia, keeps me humble but strong. It’s hard enough to gain confidence after you’ve been labeled ‘slow’ and “how come everyone reads so easily and I find it so difficult”. I definitely, didn’t think of my condition as anything more than a tragedy, while I was growing up. Now, than I’m older, I see it as a gift, and I would never trade what I have for anything but this gift. Incidentally, I watched a video that shocked me-some people from Yale are trying to create a medication to help dyslectics read, apparently it slows down the brain. I’m disappointed that they would take this approach, when really we’re in the day and age where we don’t have to read, we can listen and watch and learn that way. I propose that those that had dyslexia, be excused from reading in school and instead, read without pressure as a hobby instead. I came up with this idea, just today, while I recounted how when my kids were babies and toddlers. It was then, that I started reading out loud to them for pure enjoyment, it was the first time I slowed down and comprehended what I read in one go (since I was reading out loud, calm and relaxed). Thanks for making your video! I enjoyed listening to you’re very visual descriptions of how you figured out how things worked.

I love this - Love, Light, and Awake! If ok with you, I'll share this in one of our newsletters. So many struggle with seeing it as a gift - especially when younger. Thanks for sharing!

DyslexicAdvantage, absolutely! Feel free, I’ve also made about 3 videos so far on my hopes that people don’t take medication, to slow down their brains, just so they can learn to read. Thank you so much for creating this channel and putting on videos. As a Dyslectic I’m ever so grateful! 😊

When my son was young, he had a pretty severe language problem. I realilzed I had to "show"(visual) him, not "tell" (auditory) him. This reminds me of those days in a way. We need each other.

I struggle with spread sheets, my mind comes up with solutions. I see spaces, I do design work and space planning it’s easy until I have to use spreadsheets for large estimation.
