Wow I will totally pick this one up for my hard floor cleaning! My Dyson Animal does not work well on hard floors but is great on carpets. This video really helped thanks!
great review, I got the basic V6 model in January and have been really impressed at how powerful it is, it picks up more than our vax air stretch does. we rarely use the vax now, only to clean the Dyson usually or if we need pick up say, wall dust etc.. whilst decorating then we use vax but as a rule our Dyson V6 is our everyday vacuum. Think the V6 in standard mode is around 50 airwatts at the head and 100 airwatts in max mode.
+guitarplayerforu I may try another Dyson cordless at some point, but I still don't think they are a replacement for a good mains powered model, but OK for keepng the dirt at bay in betweeen a weekly or fortnightly deep clean.
+ibaisaic you'd be surprised at how powerful the V6 is, we thought we'd need to get the mains vax out once a month to deep clean but we've found the V6 to pickup more than our mains vax does. I was shocked at how much the vax had left behind as it's multicyclonic and I washed the filter once a month too. the dc50 has 100 air watts, the V6 has 100 Air watts in max mode, if I want a deeper clean I just put max mode on, can do 3 rooms in 6-8 mins on max.
I had the very first cordless handheld and the battery life was so poor I returned it. This seems like an improvement. I suppose this is good for quick pick ups but certainly no substitute for a good vacuum.
This is our household hoover we've had this 6 months and to be honest I don't bother use my other household cleaner. I do think your review is really quite correct esp about using it with the car. I am dissapointment this model is discontinued.... I wonder why?
+Hina Hussain It's discontinued because Dyson have introduced improved models. I don't use mine much apart from quick clean ups and it's no good on pet hair. I expect the newer models are better at carpet cleaning.
nope i seen many complaints about the motor pulsing on and off, on and off until you make the filters SUPER CLEAN or change the battery and in a few years. youre gonna be screwed when the needed parts are no longer made
