Air purifiers are not all the same, here i tell you my views on the Dyson Hot and Cool formaldehyde Air purifier, how dose it compare to my Levoit air purifier, Do i regret buying it and is it worth the extra cost.

Hello, I understand English bad, I am looking for air purifier which filter formaldehyde. I can find information on official site of levoir other cheaper purifiers and I dont understand destroy them formaldehyde or not. Can you tell me this information? Thanks a lot!

Not all purifiers (even Dyson)deal with formaldehyde, you need a formaldehyde version. Dyson formaldehyde does not trap formaldehyde like a conventional filter, it has a type of catalyst in the filter part (after disposal HEPA filters) for formaldehyde

I can see your dilemma I’ve not had that problem, As I don’t invite them in, but as I placed one of my air purifier next to some flowers purely by accident this completely took away the flower perfume smell, so I can’t see why not

@@RichManPoorTech Hard to turn family away, haha! But it is tempting... I read recently that it has an activated charcoal layer to filter odors, but is that something that needs replacing separately, or is it integrated into the filter that gets replaced every so often?

It dose has a activated carbon hepa filter, It is a integrated filter, but unlike some you get a status of the filter life, so depending on how clean you air is you either replace it earlier or later, where our other purified we don't know the status so we change it every 6 months if we remember, might be too soon or maybe we should change it sooner just for your information we don't smoke and outside air quality where we live is good, our purified is scheduled to come on every day with automatic settings, for a set time and we have had the same filter in for 8 months and our filter is still showing 88% filter life remaining

I thought the same, but all I can tell you is I took the plunge and don’t regret buying it, especially when my daughter came home with Covid

Only my daughter got Covid, the rest of us stayed Covid free, wether it was the purifier, or having a jab, or a mixture of both I don’t know, but we feel it definitely helped

I still recommend it, and I’m still on my 1st filter, which I would have replaced if it was just time, but as the app monitors its condition it says it’s still good so I’m still using it

Couldn’t find one in South Australia. Told it had technical and supply issues and so none in stores. Not sure about this.

Is it to do with microchip shortage, I had to wait 4 months for mine, went to buy a car and there is a 13 month waiting list owing to supply issues caused by the pandemic

I was thinking of doing a video on just that, the heat output is good and quick, it has a thermostat that regulates heat and coupled with the automatic fan speed and oscillation heats the room a lot quicker than say a standard fan heater, or a electric fire or oil filled radiator, I haven’t used it much as we have a very well insulated house with gas central heating, and obviously electricity costs more than gas for heating, but our boiler broke down the other week and this did a good job, I was using it for quick short bursts as the room was soon at the required temperature

@@RichManPoorTech Not many have touched on the heating side from what I can see, sounds pretty good overall, just toying with the idea of getting one, as I live in a rather drafty house and keep waking up feeling cold / chills. Have a dyson am08 but this new one seems to do it all and will cover both seasons. I noticed they have a night feature which dims the light which is awesome, but can you run the heater mode with the night mode? looking to run it through the night and keep my room warm until the morning. Thanks for replying.

The night mode can be selected while in heat mode, heat mode only blows from the front not rear, it can be set to timer When set to a temperature day 20 degrees when the temperature reaches that it turns off You can use schedules to get it to come on and off at times overnight I hope this helps

@@RichManPoorTech Thanks I had a play with one today (not the exact one) the same one without the formaldehyde filter, I didn't find the air flow to be really that good to be honest. But as a heater it did feel / work very well.

@@acidrain55 I own an HP04. Getting it replaced with the HP09. My belief is that the maximum airflow has been reduced due to two reasons. The newer models have a HEPA 13 filter mechanism, making the device completely sealed. This means air no longer 'leaks' passed the filter and thus overall air intake is lower. This is exacerbated by the fact that the formaldehyde unit has an additional filter, which further decreases the overall air intake. The combination means that this series, while more effective at air purification, produces less out going air.

Am very surprised to hear you say the sound on dyson is very low, I just got mine today and I’m having a hard time with the noise, when I click automode it immediately goes up to fan noise 7/8 which is very loud…also tried heat and it stays at fan speed 8 (In terms of noise, even when I lower the fan level to one, it sounds as loud as level 8 on cooling) I’m struggling to see how to use this without manually leaving it at fan 1 and just maybe turning on the heat for an hour before I go up to bed Any suggestions or tips? Can’t imagine it’s faulty

Dyson due to there design have a terrible CFM of air flow. It may feel like they can move a lot of air unfortunately they don’t

I find that both the speed the whole room heats up or feeling the cool air throughout the room, mixed with comparable noise level, means living with the Dyson far exceeded my expectations in real life usage

Irritating the instructions poor - was not obvious how to put the parts together (which way up) … annoying. Clicked it altogether ok in the end (but resisted and bounced out - pushed back in) - hoping ok but not entirely sure. Could do without that for £600.

It's because there CFM are terrible and not aĺl of them have h13 hepa filters.Even ikea $50 air purifier can filter more air

Interesting, but never rely on one pice of information, including myself, these were my findings. when you just buy from a spec sheet, the companies that build to the spec sheet often come out best. the Rover montego came out best, if you could ever drive it and it wasn't in the garage. In "construction news" publication Jcb always win the group tests, but they are involved on what the test will be. Also they are the biggest advertisers in construction new by the way.

@@RichManPoorTech I have had Dyson fans / purifiers and they were terrible quality long term. I replaced them as purifiers with WINX machines and felt they performed better but even they only lasted a few years without developing faults. Philips have been taking over the space and sell the most now but I haven’t used them. I just purchased the AEG about 3 months ago and it’s fine, time will tell if it lasts.

@@RichManPoorTech thank you for the content. I should add I’m a painter so in fairness all the machines are asked to do a lot of heavy lifting. There are proper machines for this so I am not a normal user and have been probably expecting too much from domestic machine, that probably do very well under normal conditions. All the best.

Which part is not legit, Im sat with the Dyson Formaldehyde physically next to me while i give my opinion (Definition of review from the oxford english dictionary a report ....., or on the internet,...... in which somebody gives their opinion) I didn't Post a video of my fathers eulogy, because that was private or my father's post-mortem / Death certificate, As again private and a family matter or the audio from my farther[s consultants appointment when i was sat next to him, where he was told he was terminal with mesothelioma. and only had possible weeks to live. If you didn't like my review, fair enough, but like all my reviews they are 100% genuine
