Ronnie is without a doubt one of the most influential, yet criminally slept on skaters in modern skateboarding. Dude's had a career spanning different eras and was pushing the flip-in-out-manny envelope when the rest was going bigger but cooling it on the tech. And best of all: he's still killing it, but in the end maybe Ronnie didn't get the same household name recognition as others from his generation because maybe he was doing his own thing too much, just progressing as he saw fit without concern for how the industry works.
watching Ronnie creager helped me learn so many tricks. I grew up in the woods and had to learn from videos, not other skaters. total respect to Ronnie creager. he's awesome
Watched him all these years and always admired how true to himself and his style he is. Somehow he was always under the radar and was cool with it. No BS with Creager. His skating does the talking. One of my favs. Style king.
OG Orange County ripper . Grew up watching him kill it while running into him at local Oc / SoCal spots . He also destroyed every local mini ramp around my area growing up . Such a legend . He really raised the tech level skating where i grew up and globally during his prime . Much respect too Ronnie . Would love too see some current footage im sure he is still killing the manual/ledge game
Nah it was a nollie under varial heelflip. Slow motion it & you will see his nollie foot under flips the board. He also stated it was an underflip in an interview.
Love to see this dope street skating of the 90's and the hip-hop music!!!! Back then it was just about skating and that's it....today all about contracts and injury clauses plus "Nike SB"....NO THANKS...GIVE ME "es"....
I have the Gullwing VHS with the fs heel down the double set in it! First vid I ever had! Borrowed of a classmate and accidentally never returned...it's a terrible vid, but Ronnie's tiny part blew my mind! Trilogy footage! Rodney vs Daewon 1 & 2! So sick! if only we could communicate to the current gen the vibe of the mid-late 90's; these ppl like Ronnie were not just the top talent, they were evolving skating as they progressed...ppl like Ronnie were not only inventing tricks but were the first to give them application to settings beyond flatground and curbs and set the benchmark for what was now possible...it's hard to understand how amazing a solid nollie heel on flat by Ronnie was back then, long before saturation of clips and ABD syndrome devalued everything...these were the golden days! Ronnie was always a giant in his house of skill, he was up there with Koston, Mariano, Daewon, Gino, Dill and a bit later Marc Johnson as heavyweight contributors to the evolution of street skateboarding, and he did it with a finesse and grace that was unheard of back then...other pros forced their board into the air- Ronnie seemed to simply guide his with intent rather than brute force...SUCH a legend. Daewon was a MONSTER back then too- I feel like he is slept on lately for his contribution...his parts in Rodney vs Daewon 1 & 2 and Trilogy were shocking to behold...he was just MILES ahead of the other pros...so was Geoff Rowley when he arrived. Ah, the nineties- such a beautiful era in skating. I hope ur still shredding, Ronnie! U the man!
Amazing as always but unfortunately did not get his due as far as the industry is concerned. His High School Dropout Brand was tight, the boards were awesome, and I am still skating his Etcetera insoles. Great style, sick bag of tricks, and I am so stoked I finally saw that blue bird and white board graphic I remember so well from back in the day.
Creager is that guy that would have blown minds regardless of era. He'd have been an innovator in any generation of skating. He'd just have to see the talent level and then go beyond and reset it.
I use to watch him again&again skate till today and wondering if he still skating??creager blind and sick stance before p.rod and newborns skaters🙏🏽💯🔥🛹❤️
I had a poster on my wall of him doing a bs/kick flip to bs tailslide to bs/ kick flip out, frame by frame unbelievable tech with the trade mark sun hat ✌🏾❤️

1:21 creager does this switch tailslide five or six times in a row in the credits of world's trilogy video. smooth as you like. mindblowingly consistent
what makes this isn't just his switch tech that was ahead of its time. Imo its the style that he has doing it. Imo top 2 at that time with stylish tech like that. Penny had a bit better style but i also thought ronnie's tech might be better...maybe i don't know what im talking about lol
