its crazy how e40 gets not credit for being a top 5 rapper when he is consistently putting out tracks on the same level as this. His flow doesnt miss a step. Hes the closest we can get to getting songs like this today.

It had been forever since I'd seen this video, I forgot Cel was even on here. I don't think I've ever heard this version other than on the video. The bay had so many compilations and stuff but I just now realized that the bay was FULL of dudes that maybe weren't the best songwriters or maybe couldn't carry a whole album by themselves but they'd absolutely torch an 8 or 16 or co-feature. Bay had a lot of hitters with this formula, from JT's Bay Area Playaz, to the early TRU stuff, to this, I got 5 on it remix, Ain't hard to Find on All eyez on me, etc... Way too many to name.

This somg is AMAZING lol... Spice 1 was my first rap tape i ever heard lol.. Him and Domino.. I found the tapes in the gym back when I was in grade 7 in a all girls private school in Japan lol... The tapes sat hidden in the same spot for months, so one day i took them to play them in my Walkman lol... I ended up addicted especially to Domino's catchy songs so I never returned the tapes lol.. Thinking back, I know who left them there, because we had a girl in our school Asian but new from America that was not actually born in Japan.. She had so much English hip hop slang during English classes.. Her family moved away back to America, abruptly, so her tapes were left in the gym for me to claim... I want to thank her for introducing me to such a wonderful culture lol.. Those tapes started a life long obsession
Loved this song. I’ll just say this…..Spice 1 is the most underrated rapper ever. 187 he wrote, Amerikkkas nightmare, 1990 sick……all three on repeat from start to finish, no skipping songs. No other rapper I could listen to like that (most had at least a song one more I would skip). Maybe one or two albums, not like spice lol. Big respect for 40 though for continuing to do it big.

Bay Area Playaz on Dwellin in the labb had way more bay cats on it, but this was more well known. This song and the I Got 5 on it remix with Luniz, Dru Down, Shock G, Richie Rich, and E-40 is probably a tie for most/best known bay area collab of all time.

E-40 is my favorite rapper, hands down. I have rocked every one of his albums going back to the early 90’s when in high school. Lyrically, Eminem is the greatest (truly unbelievable lyrical ability…just listen to Godzilla which may be the dopest verse ever written) but 40 is one of a kind.
