Hey. I just want to say I think it is so amazing that you are sharing your journey with the e collar. My pup loves her e collar. It provides clarity and understanding for her. She has a dogtra 280c collar. People often think that the e collar shock dogs but in fact my e collar has 127 levels, she works on a level 4-6 often. I can’t even feel the stim until levels 10-13 depending on the day. We hardly ever up her stim level for a correction unless she blows off a recall (which could be dangerous to her and others) or if she blows off a leave it and picks up something from the ground to eat (which is dangerous for her obvi). She often actually doesn’t need her e collar now cause it has helped her recall understanding. I am so glad you are teaching Astro how to love the e collar instead of how to fear it. Whenever I get my pups e collar out she gets so happy cause she knows we are going outside and gonna have fun. Thank you for such a fun new video. Can’t wait to see more of his e collar and off leash journey.

I love our mini educator. I got their brand of the buckle and bungee collar. I see a good amount of comments speak about getting one. I recommend the mini educator or something similar. I forget the exact terms but it has something to do with relaxing the muscles over actual shock and electrocution. A lot easier to communicate and not make the mistake of accidentally punishing your dog with how many levels it has. Also has a tone and vibration setting which is usually the only button I really use to grab attention or correct. My first collar I got cheap and I learned actually zapped. Just something to consider when getting your dog an e collar :)

I personally will be using bandanas, service dog collar embroidered, a hands free leash with service dog and leash wrap if needed. I have a harness just for the times I would like her to wear one but I personally like to have her with as less gear as possible

maybe you should also train astro to work in a vest? so when you take him into public people aren't as likely to want to pet him

This is literally the perfect timing because im getting a E-Collar This month and I’ve been wondering how you introduce it I have the same problem with my dog when I get the prong how he gets excited because that means he going to train but if I try to but it on him he hungers down but once it’s on him he acts normal again

You guys in the US have no idea how lucky you are that you still have ecollars legally!! People still use them here in Aus (because we don't want our dogs being hit by a car or bitten by a snake) but it's done underground. All the love for a responsible, educated ecollar proponent! Keep spreading the word so that they won't be banned there either.

Just so you know, I ALSO introduced my gear with positive reinforcement and counter conditioning but my Aussie Fable still hates having her harness or flat collar put on. I think these floofs just don't like wearing clothes!!

Definitely not using an E Collar on any dog. They are considered cruel by the majority of dog trainers. I have one dog that has terrible recall, he is sadly rarely off the leash but I am not introducing an e collar!
