The E-flite Eratix 3D FF (Flat Foamy) 860mm offers the aggressive aerobatic plus smooth sport and slow-flying performance of similar class models - without all the hassles of buying components for and building one! It bolts/snaps together and can be ready to fly in less time than it takes to charge a battery compared to the glue, tape, and many hours it usually takes to assemble other “flat foamy” aircraft. Its lightweight yet extremely durable EPP airframe is mostly factory-assembled and includes a factory-installed power system and servos. The 2S and 3S compatible brushless motor is matched with an exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart ESC. The BNF Basic version is equipped with an AR630 receiver to deliver real-time telemetry data along with AS3X and SAFE Select technologies. It’s small enough and light enough to be flown indoors in gymnasiums and other similar spaces or outdoors in yards, parks, and sports fields, making it a versatile addition to the hangar for a wide variety of pilots!

Maiden flight today and I was very pleased with my E-flite e-RAT-ix I am a newer pilot and this airplane is AWESOME just the right size for the park it looks huge in the sky nice job E-flite spektrum and horizon hobby I would highly recommend it!!!!!

Well about time, I wondered if Horizon would ever come back out with a 3D profile plane.. It has been years. I always loved the original lil Yak UMX profile, and you guys used to sell the Edge 540 BP profile balsa model, i would love to see one of those again I flew the wings off mine.. This looks like a home run $220 for a BNF that goes together in 5 minutes.. Heck yeah.. On my wish list. you guys do know Nov 26th is my Birthday.. This plane and the IX14 would go great together. Ha ha Can't wait to get my hands on this one for sure... I have twisted hobbies plane but it does have some flaws, this one looks like the fuse is supported where it needs to be..

D@rn you Horizon!!! I just bought a 32" Twisted Hobbys flat foam to help develop my left stick skills per Model AV8R because HH didn't have anything like it. While I don't regret the Twisted Hobbys buy, your model does look to have some better features. Lord knows you guys are ending up with most of my dogs college fund as it is, had you been a few months sooner you would've gotten that too. 🤣

Help - a question please - the Spektrum 850 3s battery recommended- in the Horizon web site here is a quote about that battery - " Please note - Spektrum IC2 connectors and charge leads ARE NOT compatible with EC2 connectors" and if you read the comments about that battery people say it will not connect to their chargers. It appears you must buy an adapter in order to charge it. Can you confirm this? What adapter is needed ? It this is true then it seems you must use the Spektrum battery with its ic2 connector and that is a $30 battery. I already have other batteries I would like to use. So does this mean I need an adapter to go from the ic2 to either an xt60 or ec3 that I already have?

I cut a xt30 connector in half and soldered it directly to another xt30 making a cheap adapter, yes you can just solder on a xt30, the center pin on the ic2 connector isnt attached to anything.

do you have any plans to add a reversing ESC so the plane can perform 4D maneuvers (e.g., Backwards Flying & Inverted Prop Hanging, etc.)?

You can enable thrust reversing with the stock Avian Smart ESC and 630 receiver in the BNF Basic version, but we don't technically recommend it. Especially with the stock prop saver attachment...swap that out and you can try it, though the reverse thrust isn't quite enough to stop it on a vertical downline (but you can do some other interesting stuff with it!).

We originally designed it to fly with 2S and 3S batteries, and it does fly well with 2S batteries when using a larger prop, but almost everyone who has flown it much prefers the performance with the stock prop and 3S batteries (so that's what we officially recommend!) :)

Description states EPP foam but it looks like the old brittle foam from the past profile planes. Hopefully it's not !

It's high-density EPP that's stiffer and has a smoother finish, but offers much of the same durability as the more typical EPP some are used to. It's definitely NOT EPS, Depron or the really light but brittle foam we used for profile models almost 20 years ago!
