@@BrianPhillipsRC I definitely caught the STOL Apprentice 700mm comment! It currently is way too windy for me to be flying! I have already programed the Draco into my NX8 don't even have the plane yet and won't probably fly it for a while. My plan will be to fly the Stol 700m and my Apprentice S2 1.2mm for a bunch of flights than the Draco! I've done the buying and flying a plane well beyond my skill level thing already! Luckily the plane still is functional and has been repaired a couple of times! That plane has been collecting dust for months.

How did you set that up?

@@highdesertmisfitsrcclub2846 easy if u nave a nx transmitter go to telemetry screen and add volts . Then go to audio events / audio event switch / what switch you intend to use but if you use switch I put the audio event on position 1 scroll till you find volts in the audio events and done I did it that way because the other way you have to listen to everything and anywhere between 10 sec to every minute . And I fly my batteries down to about 11.0 volts half throttle so that when I land there at 11.5 volts perfect for storage . But may very from battery to battery 👍

yes, but on this plane, it's HARD to see ;) Some of these UMX'es are less opaque, in paint color, and you CAN see a hint of change while flying (close)...this one you'll only ever see when you're playing with it on the counter, getting SAFE and AS3X set. I know the Red, Blue, and Flashing all mean something, but to be honest, I don't pay any attention to what color means what (I could, but don't) and here's why - 1) I really don't care what the Brick says (the rx) - I want to SEE the results of the behavior being ordered by me, the pilot, then I can believe it ;) 2) I just know I wouldn't be able to see it in flight, so while it WOULD be nice to KNOW...I just didn't - so we didn't share this detail. Hope this makes sense. I prefer to see control surfaces doing their thing to understanding from an led - BUT, on this detail, to all their own. You know that expression, "The customer is always right, in matters of TASTE" - this would totally be a matter of taste ;) Thanks for being here with us!

Hi i was thinking the same thing and was comparing the two UMX air tractor 700mm and the 800mm micro Draco as my third plane as i want something under 1m with flaperons i hope Brian could do a comparison video.😄

I love this plane, but I don't think it's BETTER or WORSE than the timber. They're both GREAT, but the TIMBER is way lighter on it's feet. It's also more capable as an RC plane, but if you want a more SCALE look and flight performance, this DRACO is the way to go. Also, it's quite a bit more pricey, so for some, it'll be a sticking point...but REALLY, a few bucks more than another GREAT plane - commmmon man ;) $30-40 more for all this amazing detail, AND 4S ;) OHHHHHHHHH YEAH! Love both!

I think you're forgetting probably the biggest factor for beginners - ease of use. Spektrum has a very intuitive and easy to use interface, and even the NX6 & NX7e now had 14 channels, and the NX8,10 etc have 20 channels. If you can't get help, then so many people will just pass on the hobby. That's not to say RadioMaster hasn't got a slight edge in some areas, but I don't care how many channels if it doesn't compel people to take the plunge. Could Spektrum TX'es be less expensive - I wish they were. I also think it would be cool to have LESS offerings - there's too many "middle steps"...other than these items, I think Spektrum is still a good value if you use them for a lot of aircraft, like we do.

@@BrianPhillipsRC you have to learn how to use any radio you get regardless and the radiomaster ones have a setup wizard that works pretty great and is fairly easy to use. There's also just as much information, support and community around the radiomaster ones so learning from others isn't an issue there as well. I wouldn't say the radiomaster radios have just a "slight" advantage when you can use them for nearly any aircraft or receiver out there not just spectrum ones. Plus being open source means there's a huge community making all sorts of add ons and upgrades you can do as you grow. I agree that spectrum radios are nice but they are a waste of money and are the middle ground product if anyone wants to fly anything other than spectrum. A tx16s radio is more capable than spectrum radios, is fairly easy to learn with videos, has a huge touch screen and can fly nearly all aircraft without needing to buy more "middle" products. I love your videos as always though, I just like to let people know about other better options and not getting stuck in the spectrum ecosystem.

Thanks for the input Brian I really appreciate it. Looking at the micro combo i don't see safe mode listed, does that mean it dosen't come with the gyro stabaliizer? I see that there are replacement parts so if it does have safe mode I'll probably buy the combo set.

Just get the Radiomaster Zorro with 4 in 1 module. $130. Better than any radio Spektrum has ever produced. Versatility. Price. Ergonomics. Eflite planes are fantastic. Spektrum TX is overpriced junk.
