E# is real. It's also possible to have scale degrees with duplicated letters.

It depends on the scale. If you're in a F# scale with 6 sharps the F is noted as E#. The paradox of the scale key.

This is true. The E# is real. It happens to be the same note as F, but it is real. The same is true for B#. It is a real note, but is the same as C.

I avoid making charts in the key of C#.... I transpose to the sonic equivalent key of Db, and hope nobody is offended! I similarly avoid making charts in Cb as well... key of B usually gets it done. Being the theory/chart guy is a difficult, and underappreciated part of the band!

Theres an online DAW forum where some players (who do not know theory yet as typical, they claim to, or claim theory is not "real' so they refuse to learn it) descended into flame hell when they claimed a chord should be notated as vii7 and I said that vii7 does not exist. (Because... vii7 does not exist and no dont talk to me about modal borrowing.) There is soooo much bad information in the world about music even among musicians which is bizarre considering that the written study of music is 400+ years old.
