This diagram is of college management system. Hospital management system mein agar one hospital show kiya hai toh 'has' aata hai, many hospitals show kiye hai toh 'have' ayega .. Lekin have aur has se koi dikkat nahi hai..marks deduct nahi hote

In faculty student, student side total participation. In faculty department, department side total participation

Shouldn't it be m:n BTW student and course... one student can take *many* courses and 1 course can be taken by *many* students...

Here ,in this e r diagram we are talking about college So,in a particular college one student cannot pursue more than one course at the same time i.e one student can't do B.tech and BCA at the same time. Student can't take two degrees for doing different courses at the same time.

Many students can enroll in one course, but Many courses can be taken by one student, so whouldn't it be a many to many relationship?

No. One student can enroll in one course only.

how can one department belongs to many faculty? like cse belongs to science faculty not in commerce or arts faculty. i think one faculty can take many department. like science faculty have CSE, EEE, CVIL etc.

Many faculties ( maths , DBMS, OS, C++, etc.) belongs to one department (say computer science department). Or u can say one department has many faculties. Here faculties means subject teachers. So, different subject teachers belongs to one department

It's not compulsory to take weak entity.Depends on what all entity sets you are considering while designing diagram/database. In this e r diagram the entity sets which I have taken are not weak .

Yes, you can mark total participation at department side ...as each department would be having faculty. There won't be any department which doesn't have any faculty. That is all department entities will participate in the relationship
