E-Rickshaw battery charger is a SMPS based charger which is highly efficient and consumes very little power.
Unlike SCR based charger, it takes less power from Mains and it provides AC-DC efficiency up to 90%.
1. Overcharge protection
It protects the battery from being overcharged.
2. Overload Protection
In overload protection, E-Rickshaw battery charger protects the battery by limiting the current using its internal circuitry.
3. Short circuit Protection
When there is short-circuit in output terminals, the charger goes into Output short-circuit protection i.e. the charger will shut down.
4. Over-temperature Protection
When the charger temperature goes above 80 °C, the charger goes into over-temperature protection i.e. the charger will shut down. When the temperature goes down up to 70 °C, then it will recover automatically.
5. Reverse Battery Protection
When we connect the battery in reverse polarity the charger protects itself with the help of DC fuse.

Nice tutorial. I think the ground of 7812 is connected through a simple rectifier diode in order to get 13v rather 12v. You did not discuss the role of LM324 and the current controlling circuitry.

Sir I have bike, hero electric theire first chargers (57 volt)after bust replacement find new won it voltage 54 voltage . problem is that it can't be changed full full bettery. Kya new charger 54 voltage ko 57 me bdha skty hi??

Sir mere charger me battery se connect karne par green light blink hoti thi or fir mains me supply on karne par charging start hojati thi 20secs me par ab na connect hone wala indication show hota he or na hi mains me supply Dene par mains led on hoti he kya problem. Ho sakti he ?
