i’m 17 and rn a lot of people love Es muskas my age . We love the old stuff it’s pretty cool. Puffy shoes in general from 90s-2000s are back trend wise
Was a huge es and muska fan in the late 90s and early 2000s. I couldn't afford these back in the days.. They were a bit higher in price than paperboy average budget 🤣. When I got the money... They were out of stock... Great to see their back!
I’m 35, skated most my life, never got the chance to own these, MUSKA is my favorite skater and a legend…I’m rockin these for the look of the late 90’s skate shoe look…love these!!
Fair enough. I think just wearing them is perfectly fine. Haha I do wonder how long of a life they’ll have. Like… in 30 more years will there be a place for them. A new generation they loves them
Shout-out to Prestige Skateshop in Boise getting these shoes in! Very thankful I could get them there. The Muska's really stood out among the rest on the shelves. Several people of varying ages immediately noticed and were stoked to see them.
I’m 27 and I’m skating them till they’re toast. So sick to finally get these, cause when I started skating all of this stuff was long gone but the media I was consuming from my next door neighbor was all 90s-early 2000s vhs tapes
18 and I’ll be skating them. I ordered the grey and blue. I always thought old skate shoes from eS are super essential to skating’s history and they just last longer than vulcs. My feet hurt too so thicker shoes help haha.
I’m 34. Not skating them as I’m too fat and retired, BUT I bought the black pair to rock and I might buy the grey one too. This is just a nostalgia piece. I couldn’t afford these back in the 90s, so now’s the time 🙌🏼. S/o to Geometric Skateshop in Dallas.
Geometric for the win!! hell yeah. dude im chasing the healthy weight again myself. 2 mile walk in the morning and at night and skating every day. lost 18 pounds so far. its fucking hard!
I had sropped skating by this time. However going back and learning about The Muska his impact on skating is undeniable. I can see getting these to keep and skate. It isn't for me but i respect it.
32, got these from Precinct on the Gold Coast. Glad these older style shoes are getting reissued so I can enjoy them now. Not going to be skating these, just chilling in them this summer.
36, got the grey incoming (shoes and hair). Will rock them, might bust out a few tricks, but mainly just for wearing around. When I was a kid, I couldn't afford a lot of the dope shoes of the time, so seeing them coming back and, now, being an upstanding member of the middle class, I'm grabbing all the sick shoes I used to only see on the feet of my rich friends🤘
21, skating the Marc Johnsons/OG1s right now.. I grew up with cousins that skated and was introduced to a lot of videos at a very early age. I also grew up in the San Jose area, and Tiltmode has always been a big deal there, so its cool to pay homage to that.
21 here and started riding when Vans, Nike SB, and Adidas were the powerhouses of skate shoes. But I genuinely want to skate more Es/Emerica OG pairs! I was born too late to actually be part of that era, but I love nostalgic pairs and old school anything. This would be a period correct pair to live out a Tony Hawk Underground fantasy IRL. I also loved how Es Accel OGs accomodated my wide foot well. I can handle Nike SB Dunks and Blazers with a half size up, but other manufacturers make shoes with too narrow of a toebox for me to ride or wear comfortably and half sizing would make the shoe too long.
I have a pair of the Grey from Escapist. I don't buy too many shoes 150 bucks, but I had to pre-order some 12s. I love them. I love my Deadpool Vans also. I paid 175 for those.
36 this year...these will prolly be closet collectors for me 🤣 may bust em out eventually. God i feel cringe saying this...but they are almost like art pieces to me....the 13 year old version of myself is calling me a poser 🤣 he would have destroyed them in like a month and have the toes hanging out lol
Muska was my favorite character to play in thps 2 (until I unlocked Spider-Man) so I gotta pick up a couple pairs of his shoes. I think I’m going to skate some and see how they feel.
just copped the one nine 7 koston1 reissue in red grey and white, i just got the black and red muskas in today, and the grey and red creagers are on their way here now. im 24 years old and as someone who has skated slim cupsoles with one piece suede toes that blow apart and sog out in days, i’m definitely going to be skating all of these shoes that the legends used to skate. the vulc shoe destroyed the skate shoe industry in my opinion. support and durability >>>>> boardfeel
I agree with the advent of the boring label-less vulc shoe. Some brands make the same shoe over and over again and put a different pros name on it. So tired. I think the re-issue shoes are a bit too much for modern skating but some where in between is where I land. Def stoked on your feedback
@@DavidBluetile growing up i always skated whatever my parents would buy me for back to school and that would usually be a cheaper pair of vans and whenever i skated those they’d be dusted so fast and my mom would get pissed. i moved up to emericas and had basically every pro G6 that was a cupsole and decided i wouldn’t ever skate a vulc shoe again (unless it’s mellow like tranny where i’m not doing too many ollie’s or flip tricks). i favorites were the herman, westgate and reynolds g6 shoes because they lasted longer than any other shoe i’ve had. i still have a pair of brown reynolds g6 shoes that have some life left in em and a black white reynolds g6 that’s not even touched yet
17 and I just ordered the red pair. Im going to skate them to pieces for the price lol. Thick shoes are great when you want to be able to skate forever. Foot healthy and pocket healthy. And they just look so much cooler than slim shoes.
Kangaroos shoes had pockets before. But the Muska is definitely the original skate shoe that had them, and also the first to have the "hiding stuff from the cops" connotations. Neat to see the Chomponkicks shoutout!
I have a grey pair to walk around in, a grey pair autographed by Muska that’ll be stashed a black pair that’ll be stashed, I’m skating the white pair. I also did a review of the black ones on my channel I’m 38, started skating October 99 so Chad was on Circa when I started and I missed out on these
I am 15 and I love puffy skate shoes. I couldn’t get the muskas but i have skated the creagers, accel ogs, kalis truths, and the cash only lynx ogs (I would love to see a video on those if your shop got them)
I think the shoes that are able to partner with the skater resonate the strongest. Since Ellington skates for Li-Ning it would be called something weird and wouldn’t have his name attached to it. A shoe brand isn’t going to let an athlete sell shoes for another brand… so what shoes from sole tech past have riders that are not currently affiliated with other brands? I think this is why creager and muska work so well… Penny too. I mean shit just those three dudes is a heavy squad! Haha
39 here. The updated quattro is my go to skate shoe. Been through 3 pairs so far skating and loved them. Bought both Muskas but probably just to stock/rock. Generally only like to skate suede shoes. Might skate some Creagers and OG-1s though. For the Navy OG-1, how does sizing compare to the creams? The creams seemed about .75 too big. Wondering if the newer coiors have the same problem.
I feel like the fit is about the same. I wonder if shoes are like jeans though. you can buy the same pair of jeans 15 times and every damn pair will fit differently.
I loved them when they came out but unfortunately they are nowhere near the quality they were in the 90’s. They feel super cheap in hand. Our shop had a bunch of pairs remaining on clearance
32 years old, and I don't skateboard, which is a poser in the skate community hahaha But I've always worn skate shoes, they look better with baggy jeans than the commercial brands like Nike that are common in the hip hop community
I remember having those pair back in the day.. they were so comfy. I dont know if it was me.. but did anyone feel tht they skated better bc of the shoe?
@@DavidBluetile better be setting up a 7.5 shortys deck and crooking a rail with a boombox. During the pandemic I snagged a 7.75 from a shop and it was a little too insane and that’s WITH shoes where I could feel the board lol
It already dropped. This is one of several colors so far. bluetilesc.com/collections/es-1/products/es-x-skate-shop-day-one-nine-7-black-gum?variant=43811527131362
they were 120 nearly 30 years ago so it doesnt seem crazy that theyre 150 now. I think everyone forgets because mom was buying their shoes back then haha
