Thanks for the recommendation on the hip pads I will have to check them out. Like most gear it's worth $100,000+ compared to nothing at all.

The Flatland 3D gloves are not a good choice. They are ok if the rider falls on a really smooth surface like brand new asphalt. But if the surface is rough, like 10 year old asphalt, then the sliders are too small and low profile to slide effectively like good wrist guard should. Instead the leather is going to dig. Furthurmore, the flex plate only exists on one side of the glove not both, so its only half as effective. The flex plate itself which is designed to only bend in 1 direction is still too soft in the other direction. With any fingerless glove, a rider can check their phone. The Flatland 3D gloves were only designed for an electric skateboard rider to constantly grip a remote control. For EUC riding they rate "fair" at best.

Thank you for sharing.. I fall in offroad and also in old asfalt (that time at 44kph) and not damage into the gloves. Like you said this doesnt give a protection like wrist guards but is an all in one solution that until today all the times that I fall they saved my wrist and hands.. Related of grabbing the remote for me is important to grab wheel my phone when I'm riding above 45kph and I need to see the GPS...

No they don’t have any smell and they last years

Great video. Any alternatives to flatland gloves? They are always out of stock and there are no other brands that protects you while being able to hold an electric skateboard remote

I dont know other brands is worth it the wait. Im also waiting a new fresh pair for the next year like i explain in the video every year I swap them

Received my MSP Torque today. During test ride I fully geared up. It was a little claustrophobic. But I felt save. But my feet hurt. I haven't ride an EUC for 6 months.

Is normal you need more hours again

Thank you. Hopefully, you've saved a few novices and others some injuries. Like your glove suggestion. Open fingers would be most helpful and probably pose minimal risk. Helmets are tricky. At least for my apparently oddly shaped head. I prefer 'try before buy'.

Yeah in the end of the day this is me sharing what I like and why I like.. That allow some of you guys to understand what works for you ;)

hmm, change your gloves every year? No it depends on usage and whether you crash or not. Gloves are a vital bit of protective gear, absolutely but you change them when they are worn out, period.
@MADpack
@MADpack Год назад
Disagree with you you don’t need to crash to have worn out your gloves period :) why?? Because wearing them every day gloves have tendency to get larger and fit is super important for safety of your wrist hands and fingers

@@MADpack hi and thanks for the comeback. yes I know gloves are very much a base vital aspect of safety gear. I cycle in London about 4000 miles a year and know all about glove wear which is heavy on a bike given the weight on one hands. I have gone through loads of gloves without any crashing, a number of pairs a year sometimes, just as you say in the reply. All i was pointing out is that there is no specific time period, its usage and situation specific, this is relevant as we are looking at EUC's (and bikes of course) as normal everyday transport options, rather than luxury items so attendant costs for us normal's is important. I hope this clarifies my earlier comment. all the best jj

Thank you for sharing once again a bit more in dept your experience. With what I use I have to swap them every year because I top trusting them after one year because o feel my hands to much free inside the gloves and since I don’t have a tight fit that doesn’t give me any confidence

Protect your ankles if you wear low shoes. There are lots of bones in your ankles and wrists.

@@MADpack I've got difficult feet. Motorcycle shoes hurt my feet within minutes. That's why I use Asics with gel and special arc-support insoles. Running shoes won't protect my feet.
