Spielberg and Lucas are buddies and give each other a nod in their films. Another fun fact, the nightclub Indiana Jones is in , in “Temple of doom” is called “Club Obi-wan”
LOL, I was born in 1975 and I remember when the movie came out in 1982, I was Gertie/Drew Barrymore's age. In 2002, I was 26-27 and just mind blown that 20 years had gone by and it was the at the time, "20th anniversary" and they removed the guns digitally and replaced them with walkie talkies....thankfully they put the movie back in it's original form.
The opening scene of E.T is breathtaking! The camera shots and music bring out the atmosphere when the aliens are out gathering plant specimens and you can see the inside of the spacecraft. I'm glad this is the original and not the 2002 remastered 20th anniversary edition.
One of if not the greatest opening film scenes of the 1980s. I can remember sitting in the theater watching it for the 1st time like it was yesterday. The original theater release you didnt see ET until the reaveal to Elliot in the shed. The expanded teaser reveals in the re-release sort of blunt the main reveal. You only saw what ET saw or he was hidden in brush/off camera right up till the ship takes off.
@@UzziHD lol. That's literally what I just Said. One version. Was through his eyes (original). One where we see something running through the brush (re-release version) 🤣
@@ChentzillaThey did indeed have guns on them in the original. However, Spielberg would remove them and replace them with walkie talkies for the 20th anniversary edition released in 2002. He said he had done it because he felt that it was a bit severe that the kids were being chased by these men with firearms on them He would then go on to later say afterwards that he regretted making that decision, saying that he didn't believe in censorship and that he should've left it as it is
They were botanists. They came to Earth to collect and study plants notice how one was taking the small plant from its roots or the shot of the interior of the ship they show alien plants inside and at the end of the movie ET takes a potted plant with him.
So the aliens take off one person short because they don’t want humans observing them up close or worse, boarding the ship. Yet at the end, they land in the same spot and don’t mind all the humans standing only feet away. 🤔
The two things I always loved about this scene is that ET and his crew here seem almost like they are botanists. They way they're collecting plants and how ET himself is fascinated by the enormous trees. Secondly, that ET is totally alien when watching the movie for the first time but how you still feel sorry for him because he is clearly terrified of the humans and of being left behind.
There was a Ufo flap across the east coast in the mid 1960's. In a couple of these sightings, witnesses saw the beings getting out and taking plant and soil samples. Spielberg must have heard those stories
They are all curious. That's the whole reason they are there. They're botanists on a scientific expedition collecting samples of plant life for study. Imagine if you landed on a planet where all the trees had pink wood and purple leaves or something else beyond your wildest dreams. It's implying from the start that they aren't that different from us. They explore the unexplored, they have jobs, etc. E.T. is probably fresh out of their equivalent of a university with a degree in botany. And judging from the way he drinks beer later in the movie, he was probably in a frat!😄😄
Wow this is so well directed. No wonder I decided to become a flmmaker. Seeing this when you're 3 years old sets a high standard for visual storytelling. I love how it's shot almost like a horror movie because ET is so scared and it's his first time seeing our alien world.

Sé el nombre del viernes a la tarde a ver si me puedes pasar por favor me lo puedes pasar por favor me dices y te llamo para que lo sepas y el viernes y sábado
It bothers me why an intelligent race like E.T.’s species didn’t know a safer, more secretive way of collecting botanical samples and leave without one crewmate only to return to take him back when their existence had already been exposed.
Some suburban aliens were just visiting some backcountry planet…freaked out when they had an encounter with the wildlife and left their snot nose kid behind…it explains the whole movie
Notice how when ET went home the space craft left a rainbow I think Spielberg was telling us something I never could figure it out then but now as adult 49ys old I think I have figure it out. First of all ET has melinated skin second of all before the movie was released for opening day. DO YOU ALL KNOW what celebrity was promoting this movie bigtime no lie all by himself actually. We even had posters of them together it was Micheal Jackson and ET together. Then ET had a glowing red heart human but different then you read the story of Noah's flood and how God left a rainbow as a promise he would not let the earth be destroyed by water again then once you study and realize the Bible is actually many books from different times all roll up into one to Control us then you finally learn about nibiru and the anunnaki then how it was them in the Bible talking to Noah and made the promise. Then it hit me that the ET character actually was from nibiru all the signs are there he is a anunnaki and they renamed it ET then you notice it was others with him just like it was many anunnaki here especially in biblical text but that rainbow and how ET look I think ET character was really a anunnaki character bought to the big screen and don't forget how he did close encounters of the third kind first remember before Et movie and those was reptilian Grey's also from the nibiru system then he makes. Like 5 years later about the ship on close encounters of the third kind was a city and if you notice the scene were the guy is looking up onto the windows if you stand back and don't focus of the images of what supposed to be alien beings looking out the space ship windows I kind you not it's actually sumerian writing and star constellations all you have to do is stand back and look at that scene and you will see the secret message In that scene and also one scene in the movie actually shows you a real Grey being you just have to catch it to see it and you will especially now that i gave you guys the hint at to look for but yeah Spielberg knows about nibiru and the races of nibiru no doubt all these yrs and I just figured it out now
