Join Grizzly Granny and Gary as we demonstrate our favorite (and very easy) method of loading and unloading our Sunseeker CSX Fat Tad Recumbent trikes!
ABOUT THIS CHANNEL
Join me, the REAL Grizzly Granny, as I ride my recumbent Sunseeker CSX "fat tad" trike, usually with my husband and team mate, Gary. There will be trail adventures, as well as story telling and recumbent trike accessory hacks that I have found work for me. My riding philosophy is, "Safety, Comfort, & Kindness", and I will be discussing these subjects in my videos. Although my channel is for everyone, it is "geared" for senior women, women who are new to recumbent trikes, or women who are just desperately looking for a new way to exercise and enjoy the out doors in these difficult and stressful times.

Thanks for a great demonstration. Neat system!🙂 You need a truck or minivan or big SUV for two trikes out of the weather.

Thanks for watching and commenting! Yes, since we live in rural Colorado we opted for the larger trikes (Utah Tike SunSeeker CSX Fat Tads) with the suspension, and fat tires so we can "off road" and also ride in snow. That does require a larger vehicle to stow 2 of these out of sight and out of weather. However, our small trailer works great as well, if we are not going to leave the trikes unattended, and if we are parking to ride at a trailhead that has the longer parking spaces. We always have a tarp and tie down straps handy in our unpredictable weather, and that system works great in rain or winter weather here as well... There are other light weight and even folding trike options for those who do not want or need off-roading capabilities, and have smaller vehicles to transport their trikes. Happy Triking!-G.G.

That's a very useful ramp for those two large trikes! It's great to be able to order something like that pre-made rather than having to fabricate it yourself. It makes quick and easy work of loading and unloading! I used to live in Colorado, a tiny town of 200 people called Lake City, back in the 1980s. Back then, I was not even aware of recumbent trikes. A trike would have been perfect for the back roads, all of which were dirt, from 8,000 feet elevation and up. steve

You are so right. We were thrilled found something that worked so well, and we did not need to build something or modify anything. Sometimes in life, things just work, and we are so grateful when that happens. All of the rural roads out here where we live are dirt, and that is one of the mail reasons we went for the Fat Tads. Happy Triking! -GG

Great ramps! We have two ramps from Discount Ramps; however, your ramp looks like it would be easier for us 76 year olds to use. Thanks for the video.

I've installed light plywood on the outside panels - you could just do the one that you walk on - find the cross bars a little awkward to feel safe walking on. - I'm loading into a full size van.

So far we're agile enough to step on a bar, but for those who cannot, great idea! Did you put some type of non-skid tape on the plywood for friction? With out back issues, that would make the ramp too heavy to manage...but great idea!--Happy Triking! -GG
