E13 Mayberry to the Blue Ridge Parkway - 25th Anniversary Ride!

Episode 13 - We make it to Mt Airy North Carolina, the town that is the official model for Mayberry in the Andy Griffith show! We visited the Andy Griffith Museum and spend some time walking through the shops in Mt. Airy before continuing our trip to headed to the 0 mile marker of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia.
We stayed mostly on back roads but did ridge Interstate 81 for a short while, long enough to see a tractor trailer blow a tire. After that, we moved back to the back roads again.

Despite having to go through translate, I enjoy your comments. We avoid interstates when congested for exactly that reason. I wanted to slow down, but not too much. Don't slow down hit a truck? Slow down too much get run over? My wife and I are still trying to decide how we can get over to Ireland and the UK in general to ride... but who knows if that will ever happen. If it ever does, maybe we can come say hello.

Air Canada will ship Urals...last year was about $1500 (one way), depending on where one wants to go...kicker is you have to go to a place where they have facilities to load the Ural and go to where it can be unloaded and clear customs (hint: Toronto to Gatwick works).

I have explored that, for both rigs round trip it came to a tad over $6000 just for bike transport to and from (yeah, I would like to bring them back) and that's a bit of a big nut to crack. I suggested we only take one rig and my wife said "sure, you can ride in the sidecar, find by me!" o.0

Hmmm, looks like Muzzleflash's Indian at the very end and the slab ain't that bad. Atlanta, on the right Ural, can be fun on the slab, just get in the HOV lane and own being in the way! ;-) Do it all the time...

I have the standard rear end, not the high speed rear end like yours... and I mean the final drive gears. :-) That Indian was sweet and I looked it over top to bottom... I ain't lyin, if my kids were just a little meaner I'd disinherit them and get one of those rigs.
