That one nut on the stem shaft doesn't allow the entire switchbox to come off, like a stereo nut does? It must've taken the designers days to figure out how to make it impossible.
It does but known to be rusted in place and snap. Every junk yard swap advice I could find said pull the plate and do not risk breaking it off. Also you can not grip the switch well it is in the dash. Pulled out it fits in a soft jaw vice easy to work on.

So you looked on line on how to take it apart and you did not find nothing on how to do it so you have lots of people that watch your channel so way didn't you ask your RU-vid friend's and family and ask for help if someone knows how to remove the light switch or what ever else don't be afraid to ask all of us for help on something you need to know how to do it . Just like me I am 100% Ford man I would have told you how to remove that light switch. And if I don't know I have can ask one of my friends they are all Ford guys.
