I have no sound coming out of the speakers to my 1988 300sel. The stereo powers up and the antenna moves up and down without problems. Becker added bluetooth capabilities to my radio and they also rebuilt my 2 amplifiers that are located behind the rear bench seat. The no sound issue started prior to shipping my radio to Becker. I think the issue started with the old fader wheel. The old fader switch/wheel would have to be adjusted here and there so that I could get sound out of all of the speakers. One day I heard a big pop and from that point on the speakers would not put out sound. I bought a new fader wheel from Mercedes and the problem is still there.

sure helped me. thanks a lot. i have the same unit, it used to say "WAIT" and i had to remove it from the car, and let it sit with a 12V input for a little over 24 hours. then i was finally able to put the code, and right away, it started saying E2, i was hoping it was just because the unit was not connected to the car.... but it seems to be more complicated than that (when i plugged the unit back to the car, it kept saying E2). is there a way to reset the unit? i tried to remove the power from the radio and plug it back, nothing changed. any help is appreciated. thanks.

I have a w124 300e 86’ the issue im having right now is the radio works fine but the cassette player doesn’t work. It doesn’t play any sound , do you know what it can be ? Thanks in advance.

I am assembling Becker radio, ordered one cable from ebay, and sound gets cuts in every second, mechanic says it could be caused by cable, so does it need some special 8 pin cable or every 8 pin cable should work? And is that exact product you linked in description, what you have in the video?

Hey there! I have the same w124! Allso 1992y. with 2 audio blocks and and speakers in doors. But i have a different story, and i need some help. Do you have any idea of what is the best way to change the Backer to a Pioneer without fcking everything up? Because the cables attached to Backer are not capable for the Pioneer, and im afraid to cut or change something :((((((

My mother owns a 1992 300 E Mercedes. Today is 12/9/23, she has never used her radio. Her car looks like she just drove it off the lot brand new. I’m driving it today for the first time in a very long time. I wanted to use the radio. It required a code. How does one know the code????? By the way my mom is 88 in perfect health just like her car.❤

My 92 300D throws an E2 code only when it’s cold outside. As soon as the car is warm inside my radio works flawlessly. WEIRD!
