This kind of interaction with your audience is yet another genuine touch that makes your channel so appealing. Thank you for taking the time to make your viewers important. You guys rock. I was telling my friend how there are like 6 different RC channels I am die hard faithful to and you guys are one of them. Keep making that goooooooood stuff.
Thanks. I thought this was probably one of the best track run videos I did as far as camera angles and getting up close. The car is a real gem and was super smooth and responsive. From what everyone shared with me, it appears that this is a parts car of various Losi parts which is what I too believed. Thanks for the comment and support.
Reading the comments and trying to remember mine and what I had back in the day I’m of the opinion it’s just a parts hodgepodge of JRx2/JRXPRO parts and it doesn’t matter it’s still awesome I’d wouldn’t mind having such a thing in my collection either Side note I started with a used original JRX2 with 5 link suspension (I was a broke kid new anything was just to expensive) I bought a box of new/used JRXPRO parts (including the box for the pro-formance kit which I still have) with that I basically I built a JRXPRO minus the longer Pro chassis I upgraded it again when the new 3 gear transmission came out (have the cool Losi plastic case that came in still too) and raced that car until I finally had enough money and bought a new JRXPro-SE. I definitely regret eventually selling off all that stuff now but at the time I need the cash for the next newest thing.
Thanks. Yes the paint scheme on here grew on me and I really like it. Its simple. It handled great. Needs a little more fine tuning but overall a great handling buggy. Thanks for the comment and support.
Thanks for the input. It seems like from all the comments that was the case. Or at least a parts car. Either way, this handled better than all my other 2wd RC's.
Losi cars are bad ass! I got a XX4 back in the early 2000s - didn’t know anything about it but my first time with it at the track was amazing - I was shocked by how much better it drove than my other buggies (which were admittedly all garbage to be fair) at the time - I can see why they go for big money nowadays - great video as usual!!!
Thanks, I appreciate that. I think this one is definitely one of the best as far as camera angles and getting up close. Thanks for the comment and support.
Haha I just worked my way backwards through the comments. So I got to all of your other comments first. I believe you are up to 6 comments in this video. Only 14 more to go.
Those are all good upgrades. I have an original 5-link and its great but its hard finding tires because if they are too big they will rub on the 5-link bars. Also the origial battery strap broke really easy and is hard to find. So the previous owner did all the good upgrades for you.
Thanks for the info. Yes it seems from all the comments that this was a parts car but upgraded with the much better parts... Either way glad to have it in the collection and it handles extremely well. Thanks for the comments and your support.
It was. It looked like Death Valley which I though was cool. Sometimes you gotta say F@#K it and just get out there and have fun with however the track conditions are.
I think the XXX was the last Losi racer before they were bought out and went metric, so the threaded shocks are the blingiest upgrade you can do to old Losi 's that'll bolt on. I managed to scour the Internet and find a set for my Pro SE and LXT from old hobby store stock.
The white wheels would definitely look better but the yellow ones don't look that bad. Maybe one day I'll switch out the wheels. For now I'll keep it as is. Golden Arrow? Thats a little mismatch there don't you think? Thanks for your comment and support.
I had a JRX Pro back in 94. Even the pure buggy was a bit confusing. The front shock tower plate that mounted to the chassis said JRX Pro while the motor plate was engraved with JRX 2. The Losi Performance engraved motor plates were a later addition. Yours is so customized that it's weird to determine. The shocks and swing arms are after market as you pointed out. The shock towers were not JRX Pro and since I've never seen a JRX 2 I can't say if they are after market or JRX 2. The extra body mounts on the side of the chassis were definitely not on the Pro.
I have a JRX-2 from 1990. There is no printing on the back of the motor guard and my diff cover is shallower than yours. Yours must be a newer model. I stopped racing in 1993 when all our local tracks closed so I'm not familiar with what they made afterward. I still have my car in a box downstairs. Well it's a truck now.
i had a JRX2 bought new, later did the pro conversion that included a flat plate carbon fiber or graphite chassis, i did not have holes in that chassis for the 5 link suspension perches yours has those perches and i would imagine the buggy was only partially converted to a pro, you could probably replace the h arms on the rear and put it back to 5 link and it would be a JRx2
The jrx2 chassis has a 20 degree front kickup and the pro/jrxt has a 30 degree front kickup. It’s likely a early jrx proformance setup or a parted together buggy using a jrxt chassis. Some pro and jrxt had a opening for servo saver some didn’t. Either way, that is a jrx pro setup. If you wanna get crazy to know what it started as, open up the transmission if the upper shaft that leads to the spur gear has a brass pressed on gear, it was a jrx2…
Thanks for the mention Ari! My 45 year old brain has a rough time remembering everything from my teenage racing days! Looks like you get a nice buggy that runs great! Enjoy it!
Sill loving my pro. Had it since a kid. It’s still a daily driver with a brushless system in it. One thing I would recommend if your going to keep running on the track is to get a set of carbon fiber shock towers. Especially for the front. They don’t take much of a hit. They always crack at the lower screw hole where the turn buckle attaches. Looking sweet.
@@RCRetro These are the ones I got. So far they seem to be holding up well. I haven’t had any really hard impacts so far Hehe but time will tell. They are thicker than the originals and look pretty nice to. Check them out. www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-RC-Team-Losi-Shock-Tower-Set-JRX-Pro-3K-Carbon-Fiber-/293848587273?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
Just saw your channel and the track with the SC trucks running. Looks like an awesome time. Wish I had something like that closer to home. No full size tracks like that around here on Long Island.
In my opinion it’s a pro. Usually what happens is when they start getting old and break it’s hard to get oem parts. So in a lot of cases newer cars or the next version of the cars parts fit the older cars.
