I have been taking cortisol for about 5 months now, was just diagnosed with addison 4 days ago. I had a right pheo and adrenal glad removed in 2020. It still took 6 months to see a endo. I literally have times everyday where i wonder if I'm going to die i get so sick. I didn't know there was a cortisol pump. That sounds like heaven to someone who is losing hope.

Jill I’m in Fort Erie, do you have an endo you find helpful? I have a fellow out of McMaster and find they just want to keep reducing my hydrocortisone, I’m taking 20mg a day, they want me to reduce further and I never have any energy. If I do get up and do some work around the house, I’m zonked the next day. 🥲

I cant find one. Im currently switching endos as well. They dont seem to understand the simple concept of hc and quality of life. 😩

I have an endo who really wanted me to go to 20mg whilst I was reducing after being diagnosed 2 years ago and it didn’t sit well with me. I said 25mg felt better and I stuck to that and she was ok with it but then would mention that I am on a higher dose than normal when I talk to her about dosing up when I need an extra bit. I guess there are issues if you take too much, but we should be the ones to feel what’s right - it’s our body. I am now 7 month pregnant and the advice is 10% more, but I feel most stable on 35mg so I do what I feel is right. I am in the Netherlands so perhaps different from the healthcare issues in the US! On the flip side, when I had procedures in the hospital the tell you to double for two days then take an extra 20 before that…for me it was waaay too much and it really affected me for weeks after - so I guess I am also quite sensitive to the cortisol!
