SUPERB video Sir...I hope others would follow suit !! No unnessary, jarring, headbanging music. No confusion in pronunciations...just so down to Earth and commonsensical. Great safety advice all the way. Thank You so much...Love from India 🙏🏼
I liked it too much, Mr. Casey. Of the many videos I watched, you are the only one who uses brass jaws among the jaws of the vise. Depending on the service, aluminum or copper can be used in the most sensitive cases. He showed all the technique of supplying current and voltage. Step by step of the disassembly and assembly of Lucas DC generators, exemplary. I am very grateful!
Dear sir Good moring I am from India I have an Ajs 1955. 350 cc thankyou for your post about Ajs my dad is a michinest so he modify RE coill in ajs now I am a school student in future I will buy 6v lucas dynamo and keep the originality at that time your video will guide me thankyou once again
If I never even get an AJS, I've learned how to step RU-vid videos forwards and backwards five seconds. Thank you so much for that tip! How can I have used RU-vid for so many years and not know that?
Smashing video Can you tell me where to find the bullet connectors for the dynamo and voltage regulators only someone has fitted the incorrect ones to my EL3. And Mcr2 Thank you Excellent work
Hi Phil, I'd try Steve at AMC Classic Spares in the UK. He knows the stuff quite well, and he is sensitive to mailing costs. Part number is 900474. Alternatively Jampot spares scheme, the Mother Ship for the Ajay/M club in the UK has them under this part number in a bag of 6. If you are not a member you can still buy and pay vis PayPal. URL is www.amoc-parts.com. Thank you for your warm comments. DC the RideNut
Thanks for the video. One question. Does it matter which lead from the field coil is connected to earth and the F terminal? Does flashing the dynamo solve things if I have mixed them up? Thanks.
Yes it does matter. Depending on which lead from the field coil connected to the F terminal will determine the rotation of the dynamo when you "motor' it. If the rotation is incorrect, reverse the two field coil leads. Go back and study your workshop manual just a bit more. Good question Phil. Ciao DC
A very quick and simple job made even easier because all the parts are still available. Just tap the spindle end on the workbench to shift the end caps of bang it with your hands. Like you show in your video, gently does it. I must say at this point, the Indian made brush plates on ebay dont fit, the brush holders are too tight and the screw holes dont line up.
