Im glad I found this video- apparently this device is as crappy as it seems. The lights make even less sense for me- my Castle ESC only works with my FlySky radio in reverse and this device doesn't allow for reversing the signal. I'm managing to use it but I have flashing headlights, I only have brakelights- no taillites, and I have blue ground fx that only come on when neutral. I'm gonna 3d print a brake light housing, swap the blue LEDs for red ones and add a resistor, and use them as dim taillights in the same housing as the brighter brakes. I hope this helps anyone, I'm just typing my plan here so I don't forget, lol
Good over view again. I follow your conclusions. Any light unit should have as a minimum an option of 2 front lights and 2 tail lights on full brightness all the time, working brake lights, blinking turn lights. Then all the rest should be xtra. Looking forward to the Tamiya light review and seeing the RF/Hornet III solutions.

So long as they have a separate receiver. Some new kits combine the receiver and speed control. In those cases, you are out of luck. Also, do not buy this one, it is one of the worst i have reviewed.
No, none of these inexpensive ones do. I think only the higher end TLU-01 and 02 have them when they are combined. You can also find them on the really high end units for the big rigs. They need to be wired in separately.
The gt power kits I am finding claims to have 4 modes. You don't mention that. Did you miss something? Or are the kits available now different? Edit: the different modes do mention flashing. So maybe the acceleration flashing light can be set to stay on instead of flash?
