Man dragon alley turned into dragon forest yard 😂. Great share as always. Ps. Couldn't hide all those flowers on the back plants from the trained eye. Looking out for more flowering and fruit content soon dragon boss
@@Supercellgamer1 No, you will get a yellow-white. You can try using the pollen of one to fertilize the flower of the other, then get the seeds of the fruit and grow them. You might end up getting the yellow skin and red flesh that you want. Just like how children don't always inherited certain traits from each parents, the seedlings are the same. And also, you might want to graft the seedlings to mature plants to speed up the flowering/fruiting process. Otherwise it can take up to 7 years to get fruits from a seed.
Love the tips! Question.. I have tipped my dragon fruit but instead of making multiple branches it only made 1!!! what do i do?? @grafting dragon fruit
Richard, The directions on my recharge say 1/2 Tsp per gallon, which means 2.5 Tsp for 5 gallons, not 2.5 Tbsp like the video shows. 2.5 Tbsp of recharge wound be 7.5 Tsp into 5 gallons. Is this intentional or are you tripling the dosage on purpose? Also, I have been dosing about 9tsp of grow into a 5 gallon bucket (technucally would be 10 to hit 2tsp per gallon). Should I reduce to 7.5? Thanks! Fainlly your saying every other feeding, I fertilize every 2 weeks during growing season, how often are you dosing?
Awesome tips as always. I have been following along with this series and really enjoy it. Question for you - My rooted cuttings topmost section is over a foot long and very skinny, about the width of a finger. As long as it's secured to the trellis, will it eventually plump up and put off another branch? Or should I cut it off to try and stimulate new growth from the thick part below?
As long as it’s secured to the trellis it will eventually plump up. Once you cut the tip of the cutting they will swell up and put out new growth just like how I demonstrated in today’s video.
Hi, i need help 😫 our dragon fruit plant is enormous, unfortunately we never added it to a stand and it just grew all over the place from top to bottom 😬 what can i do?
can nonwoven plastic grow bags be used instead of clay or plastic pots? I don't have any place that sells them locally and they are very expensive online so I'm looking into alternative forms of potting. I still want to use 20 gallons and make a trellis but I'm not sure if using this plastic fabric would be a bad a choice? I would really appreciate the help or even a video on the different pros and cons of different pots used.
Man I gonna know what crocs those are like sport crocs but I get nothing when I look them up. Also just grew from seed off my fruit that was hanging from a guaje tree was delightful to eat first time
Where do you find all these types? I go to all the Asian stores but only see yellow red and pink. Im trying to grow the yellow from seed but so far just failure
Hi Richard I am a fan. I watched all your videos. I’m not familiar with dragon fruit plant. I bought a red variety that no name and it’s budding but it’s aborting all the time. I think it’s sterile and perhaps need cross pollination. It looks like it’s Tricia or el grullo. It has the silvery on the stems. I see buds I was wondering where I could buy a frozen pollen? I learn a lot from your video thank you
Do you have an email where i can send pictures of my dragonfruit cacti and ask questions? Im having some trouble with mine and i dont know exactly how to describe what im experiencing.
😂 I grow dragon fruit plant in Southwest Florida. I get a lot of flowers several times a year but many of the flowers do not produce fruit and get yellow and fall off. Only about 3% grow the fruit. What is wrong? The plant seems to be attacked by some pest or disease and there are black flies hovering around the plant. How can get more fruits
you want to cut the part where it pretty much stops growing. If you cut too close to the part that is still growing, then you'll end up getting cut 6 more inches a week later :)
When they start to umbrella, how long do you let them grow? Until they touch the ground? And if so what do you do to maintain? Keep cutting it and maintain a certain length?
Hey, I have some plants that are very well established but they have 2 main branches climbing up. Should I remove one of the branches despite them being strong and healthy? How important is it to have just one main branch?
I would say that it’s better with 2. Traditionally, you would only do 1 because leaving only 1 would speed up the vertical growth process. This is done to reach the top of the trellis as quickly as possible. If you have 2, it takes twice as long for them to reach the top, but you got double the power (2 main branches = 2 main roots in the dirt). Twice as much energy.
Just FYI, auxin is a hormone produced by the apical stem that inhibits cell differentiation in the nodes below the apical stem. The apical stem experiencing the most growth is a phenomenon referred to as apical dominance. When the plant is tipped, the apical stem is removed, so auxin production decreases, and the meristematic cells (plant stem cells) on the lower nodes begin to differentiate into new stems. Great info otherwise.
Richard, I bought a dragonfruit plant from a nursery & it is already 4' tall when I bought it. I planted it in the ground & am now seeing growth. I don't know what to do next because this is my first one. Can you help if I send you a picture of it?
I was also wondering how often is the fertilizer used once week or once month? When I worked at Disney world we used bloom boosters every other week and 20-20-20 every other week for our bougainvilleas and hanging baskets.
Great video and thanks for the knowledge. I brew microbial brews for my garden. The only bummer is chlorinated water which destroys the microbes. For me I fill container with city water and air bubble the water for a day or two before I make my brew. Releases some of the chlorine out . Anyhow microbes are a must. Love your vids they are detailed, Thanks for sharing your time.
Hi Richard, I don't get the Flora Nova products here in Barbados but I've seen a Dr Earth Cactus and succulents fertilizer. and was wondering if that can be used as a substitute?
Hey brother thanks for all the info. About the dragon fruit. I got a lot of fruits as I speak and flowers still on my plants. I wish I could send you some pictures.
Hi Richard, thanks for all info about dragon fruit. May I know where you buy your fertilizers (FloraNova Grow /Bloom) and Fox Farm Soil? I live here in San Diego. Thank you.
Can you please spell those products I would like to get some by the way I ordered one yellow dragon fruit but I'm just now starting out so I know I need more plus all the others were totally sold out its was the only choice left 😂 anything better than nothing right?
Hey, my dragonfruit cutting has rooted and produced a long spindly branch that I believe was due to not having enough sun over the winter, the original cutting is producing a new branch, should I remove the long spindly branch to get a healthier thicker branch, or will the spindly branch thicken as it now has more sun and proper support and I remove the new branch.
Hallo bro Richard lee,can you help me about dragon fruit.what should i do so dragon fruits that it can bear fruit again. How is treated. Pleace brother replay to my chat🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻thank you so much its knowladge your share verry useful.👍👍👍
Thank you, as I was conducting this research and experiment. I started to notice that aerial roots eventually grow down into the soil to feed. I felt as Foliar wasn't needed when the roots already work their way to find what they need to thrive.
