Great video, straight to the point and no need to skip ahead at any point. Only thing I would have mentioned is to use seam sealer around those plates and open up the floor from the top above those rear mounts and add weld around where the mount connects to the top
I have sold my collection of nissan s-chassis and bought my first e46 and I must say the Nissans are a far better built car. The way bmw designed a lot of things is just stupid. Subframe is very similar in design between the cars and 240sx don’t crack. But the e46 convertible vs the s13 convertible, the bmw is far superior. The way bmw did the whole convertible setup is amazing. Very little glue basically bolts together. I’m definitely loving my e46. It’s very different compared to Japanese cars. I’m going to tackle chassis reinforcement before I’m forced to go ford 8.8 (diffs is another part Nissan did better) and Lsx/t56.. definitely can’t wait to see how the Lsx is in the e46 compared to my s13!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I used usc grey weld through primer, raptor beigh anti corrosive expoxy primer and SEM 62223 olive green paint. dynatron auto seam sealer 550 if you need that.
I quit my software job to become a mechanic to help me learn all the skills necessary to restore my e46s. All I want to work on is E46s. Can I get a job doing that or do I have to open up my own shop?
Power flex yellow are garbage they shredded after 5k miles esches out to power flex they did send me out new bushings but black race. There are aware of the problem from what they told me and don’t recommend yellows for an e46m3 so be aware!!!! Yes they sent me new bushings but dropping the subframe twice isn’t covered!!!!!!
