Happy Friday! First Test of my RUNCAM Pro 4K Action Camera. Much better video than the OG Thumb. Quite Happy with it so far. Time will tell. I feel like the video was a little under exposed with the ND32 filter that came with it. I will definitely have to find the sweet spot.

You've got a nice spot. I have the same drone and also mounted a thumb pro on it. Only been able to run it on 2s and it's pretty tame with those low kv motors. Can't wait to get my 3s batteries.

Looks pretty good! I think I'm gonna get the Baby Ape too. My Mobula 7 isn't the best for flying outside with the thumb pro strapped to it :)

It’s a great little drone, but it can be fragile so I have been told. I try not to crash hard. It can handle the weight of the thumb pro with ease. Love that little beast!

Nice! I just got mine installed on my baby ape as well. I haven’t taken it out yet. I did however take inspiration from your videos and put a rear cam mount on my 5” drone and put that first test up today.

That’s awesome!!! I hope it works out. There is so much potential too. Even cutting to a rear view and back forward during certain interesting movements could be interesting for instance. The Baby Ape Pro can handle the extra 6+ grams no problem. I can’t believe how much fun and value it is for its price. 🙌

Nice dives! Looks like you were having fun. Are you happy with the thumb 4K? I’m thinking about one for my Babyhawk. Have you tried stabilizing the footage with gyroflow? Thanks for sharing.

Hey Craig, it sure is a blast and thanks for watching! I am initially really happy with the Thumb Pro, I may need to revisit my tune as it took a lot to get it right on my Original HD Thumb. I’ve added 6-8 grams compared to the OG Thumb, so that coupled with it being a larger profile I think the wind that day had a lot to do with its jitters. 142gram AUW gets thrown around a lot in the wind.

Thanks Brother! Yea, unfortunately the the only con so far is not being able to review the exposure until I offload the memory card. So it comes down to feeling this out and know what I need to use with this, because my GoPro would have been fine at this exposure and ND.

@@oziumentisis It's the same camera inside as the Runcam5 Orange, like for like GoPro settings won't cut it so best to watch some videos about the 5 orange. @Adventure FPV has a good one for getting the best from it.

@@oziumentisis I'm sure you have heard by now, but you can view the footage through the USB cable as a webcam. Love your intro, and I think this has helped me decide to get a baby ape and runcam pro!

@@wanderer.archives that’s really interesting, I didn’t know that. Thanks for the tip! The Baby Ape Pro is an amazing little ripper. Carries the Runcam Thumb Pro with no issues. And, since it’s sub250g, you can practically fly it anywhere. ✌️

I just checked, it's only upto 30fps if using 4K but 60fps on 2.7k, nice!

I powered it from the speaker+ and an open ground two pads north of speaker plus pad. If you go to DarwinFPV’s website you will find the stack wiring diagram to get the exact spots on yours. How did you mount this on the baby ape?

I used the original TPU Thumb base out of convenience, the Thumb Pro base will work fine as well, using the existing top two screws and the TPU Thumb Pro upper mount which are compatible with each other. (You may have to use a small zip tie to further tie down the third middle screw mount as there isn't a predrilled hole to solve any unnecessary pitch vibration.)

Also, to power it, it is tapping into the Buzzer +- pad for the extra 5v since no buzzer is being used other than through the motors.

@@oziumentisis thanks for the response. I love my baby ape and am probably going to get this camera as a result of your video. I didn't think I could get action camera footage that good on this :) Also I never can get my baby ape to buzz. Does yours?

It is configurable within BetaFlight under the Configuration Tab, look for Dshot Beacon Configuration section and turn RX_LOST and RX_SET to ON. This configuration change will use the motors to generate the beeping if you loose Rx and when you toggle it on a switch. If you have never configured a switch on your transmitter, I would suggest watching the following linked video explaining how it is done.
