Howard and Rodney, thanks for your research and insights over 2023. Looking forward to stock price improvements and battery development improvements in 2024.
Would Like To See Your Comments On twitter or the podcast about who Stellantis and VWs PowerCo will be acquiring as part of their plan to secure supply in the western hemisphere. There is a statement that powerco has a 20bn budget to acquire resource and has already partnered with Stellantis and acquisition Co. To get a couple of Brazilian mines. May want sigma next but may be too expensive unless partnered bid?
Hello Rodney, LMFP, NCoM, LMnO are just a few types of batteries. Na batteries use 30% Mn. Solid state LMFP appears to be where EV batteries are headed. Lithium will continue to be used across battery types. Mn oxide is preferred for chemical conversion to MnSO4. My questions: Is Mn oxide production sufficient to supply growing demand? If not, can we expect "Manganese mania", and if so, is it too early to position in certain Mn oxide producers and explorers?
These first gen Sodium batteries to enter the EV market have a little more than half the energy density of Tesla ‘s batteries. Only useful for small, short range vehicles
Howard, just reviewed this report for the second time and my opinion has changed. Canada has a real problem if MAC’s philosophy is what is happening. You have to create the Spodumene before you can process it to lithium hydroxide. Again, where are the spodumene producers? Where are the companies building lithium hydroxide refineries? Why the dependence on DOE money? PLS and MIN or Gina or WES have no DOE funding. To me PLL is getting a free ride from SYA while they talk HOT AIR. IIS Albemarle that has made the play to buy WA mines. This Darko fellow is the real deal , the other bloke? Feedback fellows.
Canada is about as quick as Bolivia when it comes to starting up lithium mines. Oil drilling and the devastation of the land in and around the oil sands - no problem - drill baby drill.
Mac, fantastic observation, where the f..k is the lithium carbonate or lithium hydroxide refineries progressing in North America? Albemarle has not built a modern large refinery in 18 years. All the expertise resides in China. When will the North Americans get off their backsides and invest?
Relying upon Tesla yet again. Going to be funny if Tesla show the lithium companies how quickly a lithium refinery can be built. Will be even funnier if it turns out to be better and more efficient.
The big mistake that will be made is using China prices and data to determine wether projects should be advanced or is economic. NA needs to build out the Lithium supply chain regardless of what China claim the price is or else those battery plants will be idle.
