E92 E90 Coolant Flush N54 

Would this get everything in the radiator ? I feel doing this would leave some dirt in the system.

@@trackmedixuk this is true. If it's really funked up . U will need to drain that radiator . Which sucks because the inter cooler pipe is usually in the way of the drain valve. It will just take more time and effort. Dran it. Use a hose or bucket with water and keep adding until u think it good. Then use the other process to flush the rest of the system.. just do what u can. If that radiator is real bad funked. U will probably have to replace it.

I'm sure there's other ways. I just found that this way is pretty effective.

@@donbradley3259 Thanks man. It's not really bad. I just topped up with the something that I found out later to be not certified. Just got the bmw stuff so don't want it to mix with the old stuff. Also my coolant line cracked and I just replaced that so might aswell do it all. Wish there was an easier way, but it wouldn't be a bmw if there was 😁

@@trackmedixuk agreed. I don't own one. But we get alot of them here at the shop. When people whant a coolant flush I go this route because our machine is not made to use on theses systems.

It's definitely a pain. Make sure you have everything lined up properly and from there is just fidgeting with it until you get it in. Good luck!

@@BAPerf I ended getting the dremel out and removing it. All is lined up fine now. Hope it doesn't cause issue's 🤞

I dont think that is right for this model year. if you are leaving it in lifetime I would test the coolant each year.

@@BAPerf thanks, I have a 2011 n54 engine that BMW have no service for coolant change. Anyway, i decided to test with hydro gauge & it looked a nice clear blue/green colour & strength was ok to -15c. Think should be ok to change next year when whether better.

its not great, its a sign that the turbos are starting to leak oil I believe. But the turbos are also only good for 60-100k miles, im at 85k miles now.

You would have to follow the wires back. if your getting a code for low signal likely you have a bad water pump. also you could have corroded main engine grounds.

Of course. If you have concerns of residuals being left in the system you can always re-flush with distilled water to be sure you got everything out before putting coolant back in.

@@BAPerf If I drain and the fluid is on the cleaner side do you think I would be ok with just distilled water flush or should I use a chemical regardless ?

You can flush it with just distilled water if you don't have any build up in the system and you're just trying to replace the old coolant and you're just trying to be sure that you got it all out. This is definitely something I have done myself in the past.

I would go ahead and try, could be a replacement radiator.

@@BAPerf it was replaced in 2018 it was fine. I drained it did the coolant reservoir job. My bmw is still overheating. During the drain procedure I noticed all I’m getting is a buzzing sound off and on during the bleed procedure. Do you think my water pump/thermostat went out it’s a 2007 bmw 335i w 189k Carfax shows it’s the orginal water pump and thermostat. Rad and all hoses were replaced as well as both turbos

It could be either of those things, during the bleed process if you take the cap off you will see water pumping while it makes the noise. Also I would check the main engine ground wire if its corroded you can get bad voltage and that will throw off the waterpump and other electric parts

@@BAPerf check my video all connections are good. Pump is almost a decade old and has 110k miles thermostat has 189k miles. The cap is off in my video absolutely no water pumping during bleed procedure. Loud buzzing off and on sounding like pump is dead. I talked to M5BOSS on YT he confirmed what I think the pump is dead. So I got a new WP, therm and bolt kit on the way thanks bro and check my newest video to see what ur opinion is

You can do a coolant test to see if your coolant is still good, from your local auto parts store. Or you would flush it if it got contamination from changing oil filter housing gasket. Also if your losing coolant regularly thats not good

if you want to it does the same thing as taking out the bleed screw

B.A. Performance question, so I put in a new radiator and is leaking already, don’t remember if the plug is was screw on. Could that be the problem because all hose are on right

@@XllllllllX- could be your rad plug? Did you solve the leak? If it overheats coolant will come out below the expansion chamber

@@pandahoffman88 yes I did it was the radiator plug was put never tight and when u went to tighten it I broke it and had to buy a new one and when I put the new one the leaking stopped

I would think the process is very similar. What are you having problems with?
