RCKicks The feeling is mutual in regards to the Turbo Optima. I’m having an inner conflict lol... I talk myself into getting one and then talk myself out of it. It consumes me lol.. I”m sure you feel the same way. Thanks for the comment and support. Glad you liked the video.
Cool I’m so glad you run your cars in the track weather it’s rare or not. That Gavin guy from RCKicks is I’m sorry to say a real poser. He has all those nice rc cars and the only thing he does is run it on his back yard full of grass. Man, I have yet see him run his cars on a real dirt track. Or even on a dirt field or area. All I see on his head is poser with a capital P!😂.
Thanks for your comment. I'm glad you enjoy the videos. Yes in order for me to have fun with these buggies, you have to run them on what they are meant for and that is dirt. I don't mind getting them dirty cause they can always be cleaned up at another time. Its more fun to run them! I'm sure you've seen our RACE NIGHT Videos? If you haven't go check them out. Visit the channels "Playlist" tab and look for them. Thanks for your support and keep an eye out for future running videos.
seriously.....I remember that time so well, RC10 dominated the race curcuit....I came along with my ultima pro...they laughed a bit etc but it did so well against them, one time a guy came up to me and asked me "what kind of motor do you have in that thing, a 15T"....No it was a 21 Reedy silver dot.....it was really fast and ballanced. I love that time.
I had the original in 1989 so this is a special car for me. My question is can this be competitive to race on a local level? Perhaps comparing it to a Traxxas Bandit?
Good comparison between concrete and dirt. That rounded lipo looks vintage style too. Might get me a 1060 and put in my RC10 so I cam have reverse. I have a Novak Cyclone in it now. Still waiting on White lexan paint for my Ultima... aaarrrggg !
I'm looking to get a retro buggy, and would like to ask your personal opinion on which you think is a better buggy between this the Ultima, and the tamiya Super Astute. I'e build quality and durability and enjoyment of the build itself. All comments will be appreciated. Many thanks Geoff
Geoffrey Tuck They are both quality RC’s. I love both very much and are my top 2 runners that I have fun with. Super Astute is running a brushless set up and Ultima is running a brushed set up. Hmmm...think I’d go with Ultima. Kyosho quality I’d have to say is one step above Tamiya.
My first car was the Hornet took it to the track and got stomped , then I got the ultima went back to the track and still got stomped ~ but I definitely had more fun with the ultima , 30+years ago , now I'm looking to get another one ' just for fun "
RC Retro very true. It would’ve un-manageable I’m sure. Prob will do a 5-6 turn. (6500kv-ish) but prob just 2 cell. The first time I ever seen this car I was 10 years old (1987) and nothing was more important to me than rc cars even tho I didn’t have any hobby grade cars yet. A guy that lived around the block was always up to something and I had stopped and talked to him and guess what he pulled out? He put it on the driveway and went out across the yard with it and it was the first time I had seen an rc car drift across the grass like it was on ice. Never seen power like that before. I think he had a 9-turn motor in it. He said it was a Yokohama super sprint. Then he made a few passes up and down the street and clipped the tire of a parked car and it ripped the right front control arm smooth off the ultima. I ran over there to get the carnage but it was stuck to much under the car tire. From what I remember it seemed like the car was doing a solid 50. Might of been more like 30, but that’s how I remember it. Def left an impression on me. So now that I have cars much faster, durable, up to date, ect. That little guy is gonna get a proper power train to suit my memories. Lol.
