As a fan who lived through and also bought Sega's last console (Dreamcast),that would be awesome. But the gaming landscape these days is too unstable and downright trash for that to happen,making hardware in this era is expensive than ever and Sammy Holdings would not dare to take such risk. Plus the Sega we have around is a shell of the Sega we used to love back then,the brightest and best developers left the OG company after it folded back in 2001.

touching on how online games shut down, even Android is at war with APK piracy in the fact that its system updates ends up making certain APKs obselete and unable to be opened after installation. not to mention the data folder lockout which has been active for at least 4 years now.
There is a work around, but it sucks having to use file manager in two different instances just to use a 3rd party app to make a shortcut to the folder.
@@LumpsPinball i think i know what you are talking about. but the files app would need a split screen, and current Android no longer allows that for dragging and dropping.
I don't like many FPShooters. I like Doom and Goldeneye, not very much else. There are some exceptions. There was a huge twelve year gap in my gaming history from 2001 to 2013 where I wasn't a gamer. I quit around the time when PS2 was released, around 2001. I was about nineteen. I quit gaming after I beat Majora's Mask for N64 and my girlfriend broke up with me. I think that break-up had a lot to do with my enthusiasm for gaming. I didn't feel like playing anymore. I gave up on gaming completely to focus on making music, which I was very passionate about after the break up. I DID use MTV Music Generator 2 on PS2 for music purposes. That was a cool resource. It wasn't really a game. I was using it to make music. Although I wasn't gaming anymore, I was still using a PS2 quite a bit. I stopped using my brother's PS2 and got a used PS2 slim for the purpose of making music with the Music Generator 2. It was part of my music equipment. I had keyboards, track recorders, microphones and a PS2 Slim with Music Generator 2. That thing made some awesome beats. The only real games I owned were the Midway Arcade Classics collection 2 and 3. I played Mortal Kombat and Hydro Thunder. That's about it. I wasnt really into much else. I still wasn't a true gamer. I never owned a PS3 EVER. In 2013, my GF at the time gave me her old Android when she got a new one. It was my first one. I didn't even want to have an Android. I was defiant, using a flip phone phone as long as I could. I was stubborn. I finally caved in and accepted the free Android. I ran emulation on it for the first time with SuperGNES. That was the first time I ran emulation by myself, 2013, on Android. During that year, 2013, I bought a Wii as well because it was still relevant at the time. My girlfriend at the time liked Wii bowling, so we did that together. I played Wii with my girlfriend and retro games on my phone with a Bluetooth controller. That was the start of gaming resurgence in my life. Now I'm forty-one and purposely single. I have no desire to create music anymore. The passion is long gone. Im too old and I dont want to make a spectacle out of myself. I prefer the "shadows." I have several Windows PCs that run emulation. I have every game I ever wanted and more. Emulation is my main hobby. I spend most of my free time gaming and getting baked. Weed is legal for recreational use now. Playing games is fun while smoking and configuring emulation is also half the fun. It is very rewarding to get emulation running after trial and error. There is a dopamine rush once setup is completed. It's almost like an achievement. Sorry for rambling. This has been therapeutic.
he also changed duckstation's licence to CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 (this makes it source available, not free and open source) and not keep it under GNU GPL V3 (a free and open source licence), just saying
@@aftdawn So? This doesn't effect 99% of people using Duckstation. Nor does it effect the project being included in software such as Batocera. He got the approval from the other contributors. Dude was spending all his time coding while companies were taking the source and then selling it and making a profit on it and not contributing anything back. I would do the same exact thing. For anyone who complains about this, how many hours have you spent freely contributing to projects that everyone can enjoy? I'd like to hear your thoughts on it...
@AFFL1CTED1 If you are going to be a Stenzek simp at least get your facts in order. Batocera will be forced to keep DS on a version prior to the licence being changed. You cannot distribute binaries under the new licence, you cannot even provide a script for users to compile the code if it contains modifications like changing the save game location or config data location. Linux distros will not be able to provide packages.

Virtua Fighter 6 has been kind of an open secret for like two years now. It's a major production for Sega so they're probably going to be super careful about the rollout, but by any reasonable measure it's probably about time they pull back the curtain on it.
Didn't know that someone was making a Dino Crisis fan remake, I have to admit that it looks nice, probably it could incentive Capcom in remake that game someday and the fan remake turn into an original indie game. Hey it worked with the Resident Evil 2 Remake and Daymare 1998. 😂
It is very likely Persona 6. The reason is because there has been leaks that a new persona 6 has been in the works for about four to five years so far. So I am thinking it will come out in 2025 in some time. No later than 2026. Every persona game has a theme and color. This time it will be green. Persona 2 was purple, Persona 3 was blue, Persona 4 was yellow, persona 5 was red.

The Dino Crisis game is going to get C&D'ed simply because they are charging people for access to it, that tends to get the lawyers out in full force for companies that tend to be pretty cool with fan games.
Charging a buck is a little questionable, but I think it depends on how many of Capcom's actual assets he uses. If it's using their audio or character models it might only be a matter of time, but he could fly under the radar for months. To be fair someone made an Megamand Legends fan demo ages ago and that's still up, but it's also free so...
Stop Killing Games is there if you want to support this organization against games being unplayable anymore from Ross. They are against online-only that can make the game unplayable. (See also: The Crew originally being shut down by Ubisoft). It's absolutely disgusting how EA would kill games like The Simpsons: Trapped Out, and this is why we want to give attention to Stop Killing Games about this. Ross would be probably concerned, I'd be concerned too. In short, EA and Ubisoft are flawed, both, period.
@@Dracossaint It's an initiative. It's up to the EU to actually make laws based on it, after it's properly discussed (assuming it gets the necessary votes), so the wording isn't that important. It's broad on purpose.
That initiative isn't meant to propose laws by itself, but to make the EU look into the matter so that *they* decide if it's important enough to regulate

It was already a chore to make plugins for that without forking it, and now it's basically just another proprietary mess. He killed linux support, since that license also does basically that. That texture replacement was already in another fork btw.
I suppose it's always been a license agreement with video games and movies, but we have been getting less for our money in the agreements of late. Perhaps we should withhold our money from them until they give us better agreements.
This is exactly why live service gaming is a terrible idea, and the very reason why we have the stop killing games initiative in the first place! It's also a part of the reason why AAA gaming is suffering, and more people are turning towards the indies and the classics.
It seems to be the opposite for me, I just can't get into third-person action games, I always stick with first-person. Which is strange, because I like classic WoW and isometric ARPGs.
I'm glad they're adding a third person because I know at least five people offhand that get motion sick from first person. They could add options the first person to improve it though.
I am a massive fan of HD texture packs and PS1 texture replacement is very exciting and long overdo. Hopefully some talented people make some amazing stuff.
The companies don’t get it, when they shutdown games people lose interest in buying their future games. Everytime EA pushes one of their surveys I say not buying their future games because the way they shutdown BF2 and BF2142, it didn’t cost them more than couch money to leave it working, instead they disabled a bunch of games that I can’t even play single player anymore nor LAN with my family.
I'm surprised that the servers for Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Battlefield 4 and Hardline were still up. I thought they would have been shut down years ago. It does suck to see them go though

We all know that the new SEGA game is probably going to be Persona 6 since it's the only one that has enough weight to be announced like that. Of course it can also mean other games but huge doubts on that. Even if they wanted to announce something super weird and obscure like Shining Force EXA 2 as Shining Force EXA 6 (because the franchise is Shining, not Shining Force, and the last game from Force was Force EXA, the 5th Force game, so it would make sense for it to be S E 6 A), it would still be very very weird to be like that. Posting the begin of the Shining Force, that sweet little intro from Mega Drive that everybody that enjoys the franchise loves and knows, would be ages better because it would mean insta hype instead of just more curiosity (still enough to leave us hyped for something, but it would be in a very different scale).
Battlefield 3...damn, i had so many good memories with that one, just another reason to hate EA. Wonder if user-ran servers will still work or not. Duckstatian new feature sounds great even if i'm not really playing anything older than PS2 era mostly. Used to use texture replacement for skins in Kurhyou games on PPSSPP, it's pretty cool to mess around with.
I don't get how you can kill a sports game (unless it's only online versus/co-op) If they cheaped out so much that you can't even play against the computer then I'd already be mad for the lack of gaming options even before they announced a kill order. But if it's just like they're turning off multi player servers, that's nothing new. I was shocked when I went to update Duckstation and saw the mile long change log, Like 32 mb of changes downloaded. People have made texture packs for RE1 DC Dino Crises 2 and Parasite Eve 2 like 3 years ago and Ice Bullet since this update back in July has made one for Vagrant Story. But other than that there seems to be absolutely 0 interest in texture packs being made for ps1 for some reason even though thousands have been made for ps2 gamecube and psp. I was hoping this update would bring some interest but it almost seems like a dead unused feature atm.
I think you can probably at this point put together a secondary channel just with wildlife footage/ambient sounds and make a reasonable side hustle. Don't really think that halo thing will make much difference to infinite as i expect there are bigger complaints with that game. As for ea, these are probably licence related more than anything else i except, which means they have no real choice without making major changes or signing new licences which is likely not worth the cost sadly. Music licences are amongst the biggest causes of games delist, and the artists want a lot more typically than they got originally and the companies just remove the game rather than pay.

The Dino Crisis Demo will most likely get taken down. You dont put up a game that you remade from an IP and charge money to play it. You most likely didnt get permission from Capcom to put the game up for a cost. If you did it for free and are not making money on it, it will most likely stay up. You can work on something and charge for it if you everything even the characters design, but once you take something someone has created and remake it, you better either pay them or they will demand you take it down.

Thankfully there are 1,000's of games previously released that we can still play. In my opinion console gaming is done now. Why pay for what is essentially an out of date linux gaming machine at time of release and expected to last 6 odd years? I for one am switching to PC gaming, at least that way I can fix what the devs couldn't or wouldn't with mods

Only problem with 3rd person mode, is they can see around corners, without revealing yourself. Now against other players in 1st person, would be unfair. But that's just my opinion.
