We can now cook the Nasi Lemak in the Sims 4 For Rent using the pressure cooker. Unfortunately, the Sims team did not do the Nasi Lemak any justice. Nasi Lemak is a Malaysian national dish where the rice is cooked with coconut milk and pandan leaf. The key component of the Nasi Lemak is the sambal (chili paste) that comes with it and it will be served together with fried chicken/sambal squid, egg, anchovies and peanuts.

I'm glad they're fixing it and that they've acknowledged the issue so quickly. Hopefully the new version looks like the actual dish (and hopefully better quality than the Halo-Halo 😅).

@MatineeSims You should! It's very fun to make, actually! I loved it when I was cooking the rice, and the smells came trough! The coconut, lemongrass.. I was in awe! Never thought of cooking rice in coconut milk and those spices. It was actually easy to make! But it took some time, because of all the different side dishes. But my family loooved it too, so I'll make it again very soon!😋 the one difficult thing was looking for ingredients in Europe😂😂 it was hardd, but I could find most ingredients, luckily

Wow! This is amazing!! I love to cook as well but never bother to make the Nasi Lemak because it is available everywhere (even road side stalls) but listening to you motivates me to make the Nasi Lemak myself. 🤤💗

I'm so glad you highlighted this issue and that you started the petition. You never said this issue was more important than the other petitions out there, so don't sweat it. Super stoked that EA is taking action - accurate representation is a win for everyone. I also saw that Pixelade linked your video and it makes me happy to see the support. Nasi Lemak party!!!

I was not really expecting any Malaysian stuff to be in the pack because it's Thai-inspired. Was hoping for Baju Kurung CAS but it's ok. But was sooo happy when there's Nasi Lemak and Malaysian Satay. Was gonna bought the pack just for the Nasi Lemak and Malaysian Satay. If the world have at least 12 lots, I think I would've bought it full price. Maybe will consider to buy it after they add the new Nasi Lemak.

I was hoping for traditional clothes in CAS as well but sadly we only have 2 traditional Vietnamese clothing, the Ao Dai and that’s it. The rest look like clothes from Uniqlo or British India clothes 😂 The build/buy stuffs are okay though but the Tomerang world is very dead and boring. Beautiful but boring. Like an abandoned town 😅

I was very late, but it's nice to know they have acknowledged this, and I'm looking forward to the REAL Nasi Lemak. Though, to be honest, I've never heard of Coconut Rice at all and I was shocked when you showed the resemblance of the pictures on Google to the one in the game. The team was probably just like "yeah, Nasi Lemak, Coconut Rice, same thing, let's just make it look this way, it would be easier" 😅

Don't discredit your work because this is a "small" issue. I'm a researcher who's researched representation in digital media. These small things all add up to a bigger picture on how the world perceives certain groups of people. Don't underestimate the role and power of a massively popular game like the sims. Accurate and respectful representation can mean greater respect for each others differences in real life. And the world needs more of that. ❤ Thank you so much.

Ooooh it does look the same as the real Coconut Rice. Amazing. Yeah, Nasi Lemak also cooked in coconut milk, so maybe that what happened. Ok thank you Matinee and thank you too Sims team for putting both Coconut Rice and Nasi Lemak. Can't wait for the Nasi Lemak. Thanks Matinee for explaining the situation. Although it's just an assumption but maybe that's what happened and it was just an honest mistake. Glad we got two now, Coconut Rice and Nasi Lemak. Didn't know about Coconut Rice, they look delicious in the pictures and the one in the game (seeing from the top) is not bad either.

Yeah, actually the coconut rice doesn’t look that bad if it’s name as coconut rice. It does look exactly like one of the coconut rice picture. But it becomes bad once it is name as Nasi Lemak 😂

Representation is very important to everyone. They need to make it right from the beginning as it sets how one culture look like to others. Sadly, they don’t care enough to ensure that everyone gets the right representation. There are so many other cultures out there that they are lacking in.

I understand you so much. We spaniards take our food very seriously and we often have to see people misinterpretating it (no paella doesn't have chorizo). It's just disrespectful. Food is culture. You are disrespecting someone else's culture.

I play tested breaking in today and my sim got beaten up once she got caught and their relationship turn bad. But that was only one time. I need to try out more with other houses.

Please let this be normal - lol - if they won't bring back burglars, they need to fix this - maybe make it so you need to get out before you're caught - I hate that the sim is RIGHT THERE when you break in!@@MatineeSims
