EA Just COOKED with the NEW FC 25 Update! 

Great now casual players are going to quit FC 25 early and it's going to be a total rat fest.

Younger me would have loved this but unfortunately as someone who can only get on for an hour or so after work on occasions and the odd weekend i think there is no point me getting the game this year.

Honestly makes me want to cancel my pre order. It's going to make rivals and WL so sweaty and toxic. I agree better players should get better rewards but the gaps are massive now. Div 7 player btw

BIG L, just EA thinking they will milk some money from the casuals trying to keep up with the power curve. Going from 40% to 60% wins to qualify is crazy when you half the games played as servers are always trash and one game crash/server dies = 20% gone..... also 15 wins for rivals = yikes

The fc content creators have become as out of touch with their community as EA. This is their fault. We wanted a better gameplay and a more fun experience, and this is what they passed to EA. Shame.

They have added frustration and fomo to drive people to the store. Just call it how it is. They know that is the casuals that spend the most money. Made it harder for them to qualify. Many will go to the shop. It's clever really.

Saying "They Cooked" to this absolute butchering of Weekend League is shambolic. The absolute state of the requirements! Average and below players are being severely punished yet "EA have Cooked" give me a break man 🤦🏻‍♂️ completely misread the entire situation on this 1 Nate

Cooked?!??!! They make every single made 100x more sweaty. Like okay the rewards are better. But it still is a video game supposed to be fun & you shouldn’t have to sweat every single game in every single mode of ultimate team.

It's good that EA are rewarding players more but my biggest concern with menus is the fact that the power curve has moved up way too fast in the last couple of years, and seeing the rewards that are available after just one week tells you that the problem is going to be getting even worse this year. People having teams filled with special cards after the first month is not how it should be. I'm tired of going into champs in November/December and seeing cards like POTM Mbappe and Eusebio in half of people's teams. Nowadays every reward is essentially a fodder pack that you put into a gamble sbc like an icon pick, or a big player sbc that you see everyone in champs have.

15 rivals wins? That's just dumb. Great for people who don't have a life outside of gaming. They don't want anybody to touch grass😂

Honestly it’s dissatisfying hearing the news about squad battles, I’ve never really been “competitive “ on this game and I always just liked to get home and play a few games to earn decent rewards. Hopefully as we progress thru the game they will upgrade or boost the rewards, last thing I wanna do when I get home from work is come home to play against people just exploiting game mechanics. Thats just my take, everyone plays this game differently like you mentioned…

the point of this article is, if you are good players you dont have to spent money to keep up with power curve because the rewards is crazy and if you are bad players and still want play ultimate team and keep up with power curve, buy fifa points because you not gonna get the good rewards.

Skill should be rewarded. But so should the time you spend. And a really good player can dip in and out, and have great rewards. Whilst an average player will have to grind for days, and still have nothing close to that. I feel time should be rewarded as well. Not just "well, if you are shit, and want good things - there is the store".

For rank 1 we need to win ALL of our games but EA servers kick you off every single week, so not many will get rank 1 if any at all. They have made it more or less impossible to get rank 1 with the shoddy servers they have.

So, Nate please do the following: transfer the tradable WL rewards into coins. I think rank 1 will give you 400k per week, which is close to 2 million in a month! Rank 2 rewards might add up to 800k coins a month. How can casuals compete here? Then 3/5 win to qualify. This will immediately kill the motivation for casuals. And prices for players will be inflated….not sure you understood the implications. Oh forgot, just get better….this is BS as getting better is not falling from the sky.

You Fifa Content creators understand nothing about real marketing, pumping money out dont mean things will be worth more.The hype will die so fast, beacuse after 4 weeks, people will have haaland as fodder, and 5 icons on there squad.

The SP for other game modes just funnels people in to ultimate team (if people didn't play it before) and then to the store. This is literally just to boost the store yet again Edit: thinking about the 15 wins for rivals, if a season is 6 weeks then 6x15=90 and brings us back to the 100 milestones season rewards. There's definitely something with the underlying numbers that fit EAs engagement targets. They frame it like they make changes for the 'community', it's definitely all to suit their agenda

Yeah, it looks like they've just ruined the game for the average player. Good players are good, regardless of which players they pack. Average players immarginally better when they pack better players. I guess we'll have a better understanding in the coming weeks. But it sounds like this is the last FIFA for me. I m not that good as a player. But love ultimate team in building my own squad. I know it's not called fifa anymore, but we all know it still is.

It's funny how the good players who are happy now that they will have to get 3 to 5 wins, will be complaining later that they cannot find an easy match, that the matchmaking is hard blah blah.... Also, don't be so happy with Friendlies.... Because imagine Elites playing with someone from Div 10 and the less skilled player stays for 20 mins because he needs the form. So you gonna waste 20 mins for nothing. Nice rewarding the good players but if the casuals and "noobs" leave the game then no easy wins and only sweat for the rest of us

Champs is totally off putting for your average/below average player. Most of the users of the game are casuals so champs alienates a lot of the early player base It will send these players to the store just so that feel like they can keep up with the elite players

I don't think these changes sound good at all, to be honest. I would accept that rewards in Champs weren't good enough - but these changes just make it pretty much inaccessible for 90% of the player base (yes, really). Champs is going to feel like you're playing a DIV 1 rivals player, or better, every single game. Even 6 wins is going to be a slog - and by then it's not worth it. No thanks. I don't really understand the cross over with other modes - I have no desire to play player-career and absolutely no interest in clubs. Add to that - you now need double the number of wins in rivals, so that game mode feels a bit dead now as well. I get it - people like content creators who live on this game saying this is great - for people who have maybe 5-6 hours a week to play, this ain't that hype mate.

the decisons by ea is shit. majority of people who give them money are the casuals, pretty much washing them out by making the skill gap too high will make more people hate the game.

Imagine trying to qualify and see the opposition with vini, mbappe and salah in like the first or second week game will be cooked for most players 😂

I posted a similar reply on another streamers site and it got removed, the basics are, no matter how you dress it up or serve it is, the vast majority of players are casual lower divison players, thats their market, they know top players in the elite division are always going to get wins and rewards. They need these players (who a lot of them stream) to drive the gap even bigger. Its very basic supply and demand, at first streamers will be posted 4 or more videos a day boosting of big wins and rewards, especially now as they can get matched with ANY player from any division. That drives the majority to get frustrated and turn to the store in the believe that a few better players will get them qualified for Futchamps, it won't, the cycle will start again. The people will fall for it in numbers unfortunately, pack weight will be poor and price per pack will go up. Just a thought, IF this was such great news why publish a week before the game is released, this would of been agreed way back and programmed into the game. Basic economics, it's not COOKED it's manipulation of their core market of consumers packaged up with a bow.

I always had 8-10/10 for play-off and around 16/20 for finals but tbh...i m thinking players will get a lot better now and it s gonna be hard to qualify.

EA think that everyone is a pro player or a high level streamer, they r doin nothin for someone who plays just for fun, i don’t want to sweat this much to play the game, and with these rewards seems like the rich get richer. Someone who plays that good will get these packs and pts. Ddnt play WL last year cz it was too much, seems like this year would be even less play. Feels like this could be my last fifa all depends on how good this one is with even rivals is much more games to get rewards

I can’t believe it’s controversial to want better rewards for being (very) good at the game. 5-6 years ago it was so much more rewarding to finish higher in WL, and EA are now finally somewhat going back to that. With how EA has structured this game, you don’t even need to play WL to get a great team, so I think it’s fair that the most competitive mode (which it hasn’t been for the last few years) gives out better rewards for better players. Last year especially there was no incentive to improve, because the difference between the highest ranks in WL weren’t that big. Hopefully this gives more of an incentive for players (including me) to improve. I do agree that there should be a more casual mode (like seasons), because rivals will most likely still be a sweat fest as well. So hopefully Rush is also a good addition and friendlies might actually be less sweaty with the new system.

You have just confirmed that EA have completely ruined the game for 95 percent of players. Its the last time i buy into this game. How many people who play this game can win four games out of ten never mind fifteen this a real spoiler. I wont be spending another penny on this game.

The elite players are going to charge 300 dollars to get people 15-0's. It's easier for them to make a lot of money because its only 15 games now. Elite players get ready to make a lot of money this FC cycle.

No I disagree these changes are over cooked, these changes might be good if you're a RU-vidr that does this for a job but EA just killed the casual player my prediction is this game will expire quicker than milk

As someone with below average wifi i struggled to play competitively before with lag and dcs but this is a whole new level. if im lucky i get one qual per season and the 5 wins in finals, i think ea need to go big on squad battles as well to allow players like me to enjoy the game

WL not worth playing if you not get 9 wins or more out of 15 games. From 8 wins to 2 the rewards is not worth it

I could confidently get 5-6 wins every week in qualifiers in fc 24 but I just feel like 3/5 in 25 is gunna be cooked some weeks for a lot of people

If you’re not a content creator.. please help me to understand why you buy this game when there’s only gold cards? When we all have full meta teams on fc24. I paid £15 for fc24 in feb and played from then I will be doing the same again.

I normally manage to qualify easily with 4 wins from 10 games. They had it at a 5 game win 3 2 years ago and changes to 10. It was easy enough to manage 2 wins but the 3rd from 5 games was very difficult. The game play seemed to change, the strikers were off target more often than not and the defenders were like running through treacle and the midfielders would make stupid passes with not enough pace. I fully understand reducing the number of games to save on time and make it more engaging for players but I feel it will be very hard to to qualify again. When it's been 4 wins from 10 there were no issues and during actual champs it was always 9 wins without fail then the same gameplay issues would occur. I will never protest to be an amazing player, maybe slightly above average at a push. The gameplay mechanics seem to be constantly dynamic and at times very difficult to manage.

This is the best change we've had since fifa 17. theres actually a reason to grind and be good at the game. If the gameplay is good (or better than 24) we're up for one of the best fifas. Very hyped for friday.

they should bring back the old trophy/cup tournaments that was on fifa 10 too... like aswell with milestones they fucked up with that this year just giving you tifo, they should of kept the packs with it, also i would like friendly stats to save on your players aswell as more stats to record for your players, like interceptions, tackles, win percentage etc

Good thing they lowered the number of games for weekend league, the lower rank rewards don't look worth it to me now. I do appreciate the 15 win for rivals and points for draws, during the week I'd usually run out of games to play for rivals and have nothing to do

And I’m still grinding 85x10s for icons that I’ll never use & playing qualifiers for a weekend league that isn’t happening just to get a couple of mega packs - thing is, I’m loving it, I have best ever main team, best ever Liverpool past & present, best ever Brazil past & present. I don’t want FC24 to finish!

I think i will play this until December..and than i will jumt to UFL and support them 100%. play that game and support that game to become even better. I think for casual UFL is best

I’m a little concerned that the champions rewards for rank 4 or below are basically pointless for 15 games. I’d rather have two red totw’s tbh. Then the same 87 rated hero each week. I get that the aim should never to get the same rank, but between connectivity issues and the difference in teams I’m going to have to these rank 1/2 teams it’s going to be hard to compete.

All this time noobs were getting rewarded for being trash at the game "I'm slightly included" but now this game mode will actually have an edge which i like i won't be in champs much myself and people that are good should be in champs

Casual player here. Played first fifa online in july 2024. At the end of the cycle september first . I managed to get all 99 rated cards even the goalie. Why so much hype? You need so much to be first having a meta card?! Where is the fun just for playing the game? It s like the buddies comenting "first" on new video posts. Nobody cares about that.

Ok Ea made the game much more competetive , elite players will also have hard times cause they'll match against egual players , 3/5 qualification an 15 wl has no meaning.

The time zone thing doesn’t work the game has been worldwide release for a couple years now, I believe once it’s 12am in California the whole world can play

In FC 24, I played futchamp twice because i struggled winning, the highest win was 8 matches , yet I packed all the best players but with FC25 and these changes, I think I will be relegated to squad battle and division rival, EA went overdrive with these changes.😅

Whether this is good or bad really depends on how viable the other game modes are. If there's nothing rewarding but casual then this sucks. If there's lots of other stuff to do and this can be fenced off as the sweaty mode then I like this

Im worried for this Champs match making. Im currently a 14 to 18 win player depending on if im sweating or chilling. I currently most weeks can comforably get to around 8-0 before matchmaking gets really tough. Its worrying if your guna be facing that level of opposition from game 1 in Ea fc 25

I feel like these changes will turn off casuals from playing or even buying the game. I don't mind pros and good players being rewarded but those rewards will leave casuals and also people who can't get them in the dirt.

Everyone is talking about the pitch notes, I really thought you would talk about the impact on the market as well, now with the influx of coins and tradeable packs as rewards, both the demand and the supply of mid to higher level players will increase in a week or two which could mean that the lower/mid rated meta players should be a bit cheaper, especially 82 to 86s. Also now that the web app is on 19th, how the trading strategy would change?

Def waiting for Black Friday to see how this pans out. May take the whole year off. If it ends up being a banger it’s worth getting it for 15-20 bucks (fc24 was so cheap that time last year lol) and gaming sharing it with my buddy for half price. So many changes to gameplay, tactics, UT, there will be major issues at the start in my opinion.

For friendly matches the whole having to play the entire game to get the loss will be bad for everyone. Because guess what, if I am down 3-0 in the first 5 minutes of the match I can't quit because it won't count as a loss. So we will both be there suffering for a whole match. No more rage quits in any game mode because it doesn't help the lesser skilled player. Get ready to play full matches on all modes in the game.

So no-one is quitting friendlies at the risk of getting stuck with a 30-0 elo and playing only pros.

In fut champs rewards sounds great 👍 I used to get 11/14 wins every weekend. But Qualifying the Requirements is crazy 😮 3 out of 5 wins is hard especially if you come up against a quitter. That's your game gone for nothing.

This might be the edition that gets me done with FUT. If I had known about the Champs finals qualis, I'd probably would have never pre-ordered. I never missed a qualy on FC24 but I had a couple of very close ones with 4/10 (specially by TOTS) and a few 5/10 more. 3/5 seems rough and Champs is mostly all I care about FUT (what's the point of improving your team if not to play Champions?), so the second time I'm out, I'll probably quit and play something else.

I was really excited for this game to release... then I watched this video. As someone that HATES online gameplay, I'm regretting pre-ordering this game.

I think this is a bad idea.. we just finished this game and have only had 85x10s about a month ago.. if people are getting 85x10s in week 1 they’re gunna be bored as f after a month.. also imagine what the store packs will be… dont forget about that
