*which one is your favourite:)?* binge the entire "every tiny home is a different blank" series here: ru-vid.com/group/PLBqWb--FlIRef2A0Rev6lr-3easWwndoU edit: I MADE A CAS VERSION OF THIS!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LuS7T1eyrHc.html
You totally need to do this challenge but for normal size houses. Maybe go back to say a Victorian House a 1940's house etc. You could do one a week, maybe even do the same house layout and update it. Like it's the house being renovated throughout history.
That would be so amazing, especially with the way her mind works. Have you seen the cloud house build that she did? For some reason it gave me Ghibli vibes. She also did this tower build that gave off Ghibli vibes.
I really don't understand how you are not one of the biggest sims RU-vidrs! Your videos look so professional, you're definitely going to make it big some day!
I'm really impressed with how you managed to get legit decades vibes in these! You can definitely look at it and tell which it's supposed to be. Also a testament to the variety of build items in all the packs!
At 11:43, that 'statement window' is actually 'breeze blocks'. They're typical of hotter areas back in the day, and were a way to let air through while blocking sunlight. Usually they were just an exterior wall and the actual window would be behind them.
Syd I love your videos, they are one of the best parts of my day. I have a tiny home challenge idea for you: every tiny home is one of the 7 deadly sins. something a little bit darker in honor of spooky season
i fully agree the 60s house was more 70s before you changed it! my parents house was built in the seventies and that tile you used before on the floor is literally our kitchens backsplash and the whole kitchen was wood (except the appliances and tiles) before the last ppl who owned it painted the cabinets a very gross red
As someone who lives in a house from the 80's yours is deff more colorful and on the pop-culture side. The colors and patterns definitely remind me of fashion from the 8-'s morethat an actual house style. but I love it sid
I absolutely love your videos, I think i've binge watching it for at least three months now, and I still can't get over! your creativity amazes me! I'm so happy that your channel is growing and can't wait to see you become a game changer (for me you already are!!!) edit: grammar (sorry, english is not my first language)
right?? she's so good, I've been watching her vids for like a year+ and I'm always surprised by her creativity, and I agree, they should make her a gamechanger she deserves the world 😭😭
As a oldie gal I absolutely love this kind of style so much please do it again in the normal size so that you can go extreme to it!! The 50s style kinda brings back the Jetsons fam
Heyyyy can’t wait to watch! ❤❤ You’re so close to 100k everyone reading should subscribe cos she puts so much effort in behind the scenes as well as onscreen for her videos
You're so talented and you switch up the challenges every time. I highly doubt anyone is sick of it. We are genuinely happy just to see you. Thank you for making these videos. They are appreciated. 💖💖💖 So hard to pick a favorite, but I love the 80s.
Man, this was so fun! I’d love to see you do this challenge again, but including things like “gothic” or “Georgian” of “Edwardian”, etc in the wheel list!
I love this series! Not only see you build but also learning about the different styles is so interesting! I hope you can make another video with the rest of these styles on the wheel☺️
I would love to see a townhouse of different dolls like Barbie, Brats, etc. with the Barbie moving coming out sometime soon I NEED A BARBIE TOWNHOUSE VILLIAGE
I love the builds that you do !!! I started watching your channel when you had 3K subscribers and now you almost have 100K !!! You are incredible and you deserve all the success in the world Syd 🥰
I have found out that if you truly want a home that looks like it came out of the 40s or 50s or really any decade before like the 2000s you gotta do cc shopping and even then its hard 2 find much I have this family I been trying 2 find the best stuff for they are a family living in the modern world but they live like they are stuck in the past somewhere between 40s and the 60s I want there home 2 reflect that they have a teenage daughter and a child son the kids rooms are more modern with a bit of vintage style because the father wants his kids 2 do what they like what they feel comfortable with in their bedrooms but a few vintage things in the kids rooms makes the mom happy he also knows that his daughter hates living and dressing like shes stuck in the past so he lets her have more modern clothing but she has 2 hide it from her mother the mom is a bit of a crazy sim she wants everything just so and if it dont fit her vision then it wont be with the exception of the kids rooms the dad put his foot down on the rooms for the kids
So they all turned out super cute! But being a kid in the 80’s and therefore having a mom from the 50’s I noticed a couple little things slightly off. 80’s house, chefs kiss perfect 👍 I think the wallpaper would have been smaller leaves or paneling was big then. Other than that, you nailed it. 60’s house, you got it down to perfection in your re-do. 50’s… super cute and definitely a modern take on the 50’s diner aesthetic. If you were going for a more 50’s home style think I love Lucy, leave it to beaver etc. those pastel vibes were spot on. That kitchen was definitely something you might see but again as you mentioned the mint and pink were big in kitchens too. My grandmother had the same home with basically the same decor since the 50’s so I got to see first hand. All in all though I still would willingly and excitedly live in any of those homes. :)
I agree. I think all of them leaned a bit more Hollywood big movie star LA-centric than they did toward the average traditional American home, so the styles weren't exactly representative of most homes in the decade (which is fine!). the exteriors were great but the interiors were a bit too wild, especially the 50's one. it's very cute but definitely more diner than house--I don't know many 50's homes that would have bright red as such a big staple throughout since most were pretty soft and muted. still a cute take and a lot of the furniture was rly accurate just with different swatches maybe
I love this type of video from you! And this one esp omg I can't believe how creative you are with decorating. I always think "okay wow how on earth is she gonna make that look 50s in ts4? I don't think it's possible" but then somehow you do it perfectly. Like I can 100% see all the decades perfectly in these tiny homes!
oh I totally agreed with the 60s change ,I had built a 70s inspired home once and my dad helped me to. get the feel right (I kept asking him about if this was 70s )as he was born in 1949 (yes a baby boomer but not the kind media makes them out to be but that is a rant for another day) my parents were always old enough to be my grandparents tbh ...anyhow and yes the 60s 2nd version was definitely better perfect and probably my fave but I also haven't seen the 3rd one yet🤣🤣 edit: one of the things my dad noted is that they didn't really have microwaves until later in the 70s it was more what we would consider a toaster oven so the table top oven in the 50s build was perfect.
I would love to see you do this again it was cool to learn about the different style I could definitely see a sim living here who rents out two of the tiny homes all looked good but the last two were my favorites
I personally loved your renovation of Willow Creek with the budgets and the storyline following different characters. I know it must have been a lot of work. But how about using decades to tell the story of different generations of a family?
My high school had those chunky glass blocks in the windows at the front of the school where the front offices are. There was also a tall wall of them, though the wall doesn't reach the ceiling. It had a couple of built-in benches made of the same smooth cinderblock material the walls are made of, and the benches has built-in planters with greenery. I love the chunky glass blocks because they look like ice! My online shop has lots of Memphis Style items! I love that style aesthetic so much I even have clothes from the 80s and early 90s with that style.
For the glass block windows, I’m like 99% sure there was one in an pack debug. I forgot which one (either Eco Lifestyle, HSY, or Spa Day because I’ve been using those a lot lately) but I thought I’d let you know as well! That’s where the original blocks came from before someone made them into a wall
Idea for you: Maybe you could have your viewers make a random sim and you pick your favorite and make a home inspired by him/her/they. Or pick your favorite celebrities and make a home they would like! My favorite was you 80’s home
XD editing syd popped up right when i started thinking it was looking more 70s. i gave the excuse that it might've been a late 60s house 🙈 cant want to see the updated version at the end!
Thank you, Syd, after watching I dunno, hundreds? of your vids, I'm finally starting to build decent homes. I just built a very pink but still cute granny's home in Willow Creek, her story is that she's lived across the road from this gorgeous house she's always loved, but it wasn't big enough to raise her family in. Now her child has grown up and having a family, so she's bought the gorgeous house across the road that she's always loved so that the adult child can now raise their children in the same home they grew up in... Now I have to go and build the old family home LOL But that's going to be a pretty basic functional family home. She loves cooking, animals, and making things, and she's going to have a garden and a small pink dog (if I can do that in CAS) because I couldn't fit a kitty litter tray, and scratching post in for a cat, but I fit in dog bowls and a small dog bed and toys.
Actually ive been wanting those chunky block 80s windows for a MINUTE now just because they are used in bathrooms so often, i would love to be able to use them behind a bathtub or something.
I love love love these! The 60’s house came out perfect in the end! The original living room carpet made me scream haha 😂 but then when you said just wait I was like ohhh she’s def gonna turn this one out yep
Your channel is really making my day. I spent the whole day watching your videos from Syd Mac Streams, because I'm sick at home, and still I am excited about your new video. It's literally never getting boring for me to watch you play. Your followers really love you Syd, you can be very proud of that :)
Congratulations on almost 100k!! Your videos make my day, so entertaining and aesthetically pleasing. When you hit 100k, can you make a house with 100 different rooms? That would be a fun way to celebrate, I hope 😅
Loved all of them! Was thinking it would be so cute to do a kind of art decor (with new high school years) motel where each studio flat is a different aesthetic or create a wheel for the type of sim that lives there! You could have a snowbird, or a divorcee restarting their life, college teen saving money, motel manager etc….
“gonna be seeing lots of pale pale pinks and light blues” makes the house red and blue 😭 edit: i saw she brought in the pastels. but i wish she would have committed to the whole space she kinda thing
I think the design choice I hate the most for a house are glass blocks. I internally gag whenever I see them. They got kind of popular again in the early 2000s, and even as a child I hated them lol
Silent watcher here 🥰 curious do you have a filter over your sims game? It looks so vivid and colourful! Maybe mine just looks like crap🤣 anyway it all looks so nice. Great video 😊💜
i LOOOVE all of these!!! I love 50s aesthetic in general but you really blew me away with the 80s, I think that was my favorite. YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO 100K I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU HIT IT!! 🥳🥳
I have a build challenge idea for you to try 🥰 make a wheel with ale the in game styles of decor. Spin like two or three times and then build a house only using those 🤔
She changed her camera mode to Sims 3 camera in the game options and you can move like that using your arrow keys and the Z and X keys to xoom in and out. Also the 'Ctrl' key with the arrow keys helps you go from top view to your sims view.
Just moved to the east coast…I’m gonna need that oodie! I do agree, would love to see this challenge with regular sized houses 😊 Your houses are always so cute! Me being an 80s baby, I’d have to pick the first house as my fav
I would have a hard time doing this challenge because I’d second guess myself with every item I ad. I definitely love what you did with each house and I would love to live in each one of them if I could!
